Wonderful experience. Check in was easy and the staff was so friendly. The rooms were nicely furnished, the beds were very comfortable, and the room was wel stocked with necessities. The area has a New Orleans style look. Beautiful courtyard. Union square was absolutely beautiful. Restaurants were very close by. Off the Rail served a wonderful breakfast and each visitor was comped $10 for their meal. We will definitely be back and I highly recommend staying here.

I like Union Square Guest Quarters. This is a non-traditional hotel in the sense that there's really no front desk area, and no reception where anyone meets you. Also absent are things like room-service and such. Basically what you do is you make your reservation however you like, and upon arrival, you are given directions to a lockbox with a combination, which you enter. It opens revealing your key, and you have access to your suite. The lady who owns the place is very sweet, and will take your calls all hours, even if you're coming into town late (i drove in around 10 pm), and was willing to help direct you to the parking area, and the lockbox, and the entrance to rooms. My room was beautifully decorated, with a nice big bathroom, coffeemaker, internet access, TV, and everything you need in a hotel room. I liked it a lot. Further, there were two balconies that overlooked lovely Downtown El Dorado, which was quiet, and you felt safe there. This is a good place for people who aren't needy about having someone to be on call for them at all hours of the day. It gives you a quiet place to lay your head, but obviously don't expect 5 star service there, as there really isn't any service. I wasn't able to get up early enough to make use of the complimentary breakfast, so I can't speak to that side of things. Check it out, but don't expect a full-service hotel. I paid $120+ for one night, which seemed kind of steep to me, considering rooms on the Vegas strip are going for less than $100, but I think it was worth it for where I was.

Unique stay, affordable, in the heart of the city near food and shopping. Would highly recommend!

This area is lacking in good dining options so we made sure to eat downtown (which was dead on a Sunday evening). Once again while checking-in I asked about a Gold member upgraded room. The clerk gave a lame excuse about people still having to check in later and did not even look. You could tell she did not want to bother. As I guessed the place was practically empty. In the early morning there were less than 20 cars in the parking lot. I complained to the front desk in the morning and they apologized since I am pretty sure I was right about availability of bigger rooms for an upgrade. Anyway the hotel is newer and the room and bath were in good shape though the sound traveled through the walls quite easily. This was the third Fairfield Inn stay on this trip with all of them being newer and this one was the first where the walls seemed thin. Also another Marriott property where there were no easy to access outlets bedside! The breakfast was typical for a FI and the nightly rate was reasonable but they need to do some coaching of their front desk help!

Apparently there was going to be a concert in town in the next couple of days, but since I was there only for that night the rates hadn't climbed and I had no problems getting a room. If you are looking for food once you have checked in, you are going to have to find something in town, because the Mexican restaurant that was a part of this hotel appears to no longer be in business. Large sign on the door to it stating it was closed, and that sign looked like it had been there for a while. However, it was a Sunday night... food choices are pretty slim in this town on a Sunday night, let me tell you. I did find a diner downtown that was open and had a delicious steak there. The regular amenities they have here are good, and I didn't have any complaints.

We were moved to the 2 bedroom, 2 bath apartment. This was spacious. The laminate floor was so dirty that it turned our feet black after a few steps. I wish I was exaggerating. Coffee items provided, but no coffee pot. Most of the outlets were loose and our chargers fell out of them. There was a kitchen, but no burners in the electric stove. Most of the night was loud with the police appearing once. The pool was DISGUSTING. The pics online fooled us 1000%. The patio doors to the indoor pool area were wide open. The "hot tub" was stagnant and had dead bugs and small debris in it. The pool was an interesting shade of green and also had dead bugs in it. All in all, a gross experience.
