Adj: Acceptable, Affordable, and a bit Above Average…read more So this is a budget airlines and the expectations should really match that. We've flown Allegiant Air a number of times and on average it's been pretty good. We pack light and only bring on our backpacks so we avoid the baggage fees. There are lots of fees, but we just don't buy any of those extras, such as picking our own seats. Since our flights are usually from Stockton to Phoenix, AZ, the flights are short and therefore we can put up with sitting in less than ideal locations on the plane. They always seat parents with their children, at least 1 parent with 1 child, so no child is ever left to sit by themselves, so the whole choose your own seat thing isn't important to us as long as there's 1 parent with 1 or both of our children. In fact, when you're booking your flights, a child cannot book on their own, there must be an adult's ticket booked at the same time, that ensures safety and also that the parent on the same booking will be seated with that/those child(ren). The comfort level isn't great as the seats are quite hard, they're acceptably cushy, but bring your own donut seat cushion or whatever you need if you are looking for extra back and bottom support. We like that the planes are Airbus and not Boeing ones, but that's not the biggest thing. The most important issue of course is safety, and we've experienced very professionally piloted Allegiant flights that are safe and smooth. The flight attendants have been good to great, and the pilots very competent and professional. 1-star taken for when they do have some delays (necessary) and some of them have been quite long such as waiting to depart b/c of some technical issues (understandable) and also once we were waiting for our checked item (really discouraged us from checking any luggage ever again) for over an hour after arrival. Overall, we like Allegiant Air and plan to keep flying with them since they are Acceptable, Affordable, and a bit Above Average. =)

At the time, I also chose my seat. The isle seat in an exit row. NARRATIVE: Heading to Vegas to attend the 2025 Big Smoke cigar event, I didn't want to drive so, I decided to book a flight out of Stocktons airport on Allegiant Air. On the date of my flight, I arrive about two hours early and as luck would have it, my flight was already delayed over an hour. Even though I had already purchased my round trip tickets and seats in advance, I checked in with their agents at the counter and presented my military ID because, hidden in the fine print of their perks, military, including reserves and veterans, Allegiant offers two free checked bags, priority boarding and two carry on items at no cost. When the plane finally arrived, the boarding process was smooth and effortless. The flight to Vegas was took a little over an hour and it was uneventful. No complementary drinks or snack offered but they do offer those service at a cost. **credit cards only. No cash.** My return flight that Sunday was delayed also but not just an hour. It was delayed over three hours. SCENE: Allegiant Air operates out of the Stockton Metropolitan Airport on most days with flight to either Vegas or Arizona. The TSA process at SCK is quick and easy, especially if you have TSA Pre or Global Entry. RECOMMENDATION(S): I'd fly Allegiant Air again but, I'd give myself extra hours for their known delays.

I'll admit I was a little nervous going into it since it's such a change from how Southwest has always done things, but it was surprisingly smooth. Everything felt easy, like they had been doing it this way for years. And honestly, not having everyone rush to line up and grab their seat was such a nice change. We did pay for the upgrade for extra leg room, and it was 100% worth it. It made the whole flight feel more comfortable, especially for a longer travel day. One thing that stood out was the snack selection. There were so many options, from honey or salted pistachios to Oreos, ginger snap or graham cracker cinnamon cookies, and even garlic pretzel twists. Everything we tried was actually really good, which isn't always the case with airplane snacks. I also loved that the cups are now made from bamboo, which felt like a nice, more thoughtful touch. Everything on board felt really clean, and I believe we were on one of the newer 800 planes, which definitely added to the overall experience. Helpful tip: If you're on the fence, the extra leg room upgrade is worth it, and the new seating setup actually makes boarding feel way less stressful. It ended up being a much better experience than I expected, and I'd absolutely do it this way again.

But I was assigned a middle seat. With Noone at window or aisle. So I sat in my middle seat. And some guy came and sat next to me in the aisle seat, after he already had his seat in the middle. I get it. Trust me I do. But I got told even if the window seat is open I can not move to it because of how the manifest lists passengers and where they are. Sooooooo . Pick a side southwest. Disappointed

The plane arrived on time, and since it was an overnight flight, they gave a complimentary blanket and neck pillow, both of which were incredibly comfy. United also provided numerous food and drink services. First they brought out snacks, which were high quality cheese and crackers. After, they brought out meals, where you go to choose from chicken, beef or pasta. I chose chicken, which was a chicken polenta. I don't like polenta to begin with, so I didn't like the meal, but the people next to me had the other options, which looked very good. After a few hours, they gave everyone sandwiches, which were my favorite. Definitely high quality airplane food. To finish off the flight, they did breakfast, which tasted pretty good. Drinks were served with every meal. The best part was the in flight entertainment. The screens in front of me were equipped with dozens of free movies, free services for TV like Apple TV and Hulu, and even an interactive flight tracker. The flight attendants were really nice as well. Would definitely fly United again!

Positives - Expansive offerings of flight times and geographic coverage, and so this provides extensive connectivity. - Big hub presence across the US: Chicago O'Hare (ORD) (also the headquarters), Denver (DEN), Houston (IAH), Los Angeles (LAX), Newark (EWR), San Francisco (SFO), and Washington Dulles (IAD) - Usually lower priced than competing airlines. Negatives - Customer service leaves much to be desired. Maybe I'm comparing UA's service to Asian branded airlines, but yeah, disappointing. - Some planes are showing their age inside and out, but thankfully I mostly fly international which I think get the better planes. - My child was not feeling well once and we push the call button for help and the flight attendant just ignore us and when she finally came over, she dismissed our request for help. - My child threw up all over herself for lack of a barf bag (it was missing in our seat pocket). - Requested warm water and was given iced water when we already told them my child was not feeling well (the illness came on suddenly). All in all, not good memories of UA and generally leaves much to be desired. Thankfully, safety seems ok and pilots are experienced.

Fly me to the moon Let me play among the stars Let me see what spring is like On Jupiter and Mars This week I was flying out of Vegas and the unthinkable happened. Checking a bag was a breeze in the priority lane, and the regular line wasn't super long, but there were people even at that hour. Boarding was also smooth with the numbered zones and assigned seating. The Oakland gate areas are super small thought with a limited amount of seating. I'd imagine on a busy travel day, working your way to your gate could be an issue. It's probably the least appealing gate area of any Southwest terminal I've been in. Luckily, I wasn't there long.

Before we boarded in San Jose, the gate agent gave a hilarious, upbeat announcement warning us that there were only a handful of people flying. I truly wish I had recorded his speech! He set such a fun, positive tone for an early flight. Sure enough, when I stepped onto the plane, it was practically empty--just seven passengers total, including me. It felt like we had chartered our own private plane to Burbank! While our second leg from Burbank to Nashville was completely full, the fantastic service never wavered. The entire crew was warm, friendly, and attentive from start to finish. As I've come to expect with Southwest, the flight was smooth, and with only seven people getting off in Burbank, it was easily the fastest deboarding experience of my life. When boarding started at San Jose (SJC), after 20 minutes of active boarding (Flight WN 3088 to Spokane on 12 Aug) only two handicap travelers were loaded. They let everyone at the gate wonder aimlessly until they put the line-up signs up...which didn't go up until AFTER they called group 1. Once on board, it was little different from other airlines. One thing to point out with the "new" Southwest. If you buy a regular ticket and don't spend extra on a seat, you WILL only have the very back few rows to choose from and you WILL be assigned the very last boarding group. Then, at boarding, you'll be forced to check a bag. In other words, you'll CANNOT escape their new extra fees...which they now add to EVERY service.

Arms shoot up and everyone is always eager to share a story. Example after example people remember more stories or similar stories, laughing starts and I always have to end this part of the group. My service received on May 22/23 & 29th from the phone agents, desk agents and flight attendants will now be used as examples for my classes. It all started with an unapproved charge on my credit card made 2days prior to my vacation starting. Yes, when I saw the charge I instantly closed my account and contacted United. I spoke to Harvey. I was told he couldn't do anything but he said he would put a note to other United agents on my account, alerting them that my credit card was compromised and to not make any changes to my reservation. He told me to speak to the ticketing agent at the airport to get a refund and put back in my original seat assignment. Sue at United front desk couldnt help me get my original seats either and offered me no help at all other than to tell me "I can move you back but it's going to cost you more". So, because I technically paid for it, I had 1st class seats for a 2hr flight Roanoke Virginia. First Class, basically a bigger seat and that's it. We got asked half way through our flight if we wanted a drink and snack. I also wasn't asked if I minded, or was allergic, to the huge dog and owner they moved into the empty seats behind me. Did the lady and her dog pay for those two empty seats? I don't think so, but I was made to pay for mine. Now, it's time for my flights home. Day before my flights I go to the app to check-in and the app is showing No Flights Scheduled. I call and speak to a service rep and she says that she had no idea why my flights were cancelled but she was able to reinstated all my seat assignments without any problems or up charge. Fast forward, we check in for our flights to Richmond/ Chicago/Sacramento and get to to our gate and see the flight is 5hs delayed because they "have no crew". We were automatically redirected on another flight and seats randomly given to me. I saw I was separated from my husband and scanned a QR code by the gate, spoke to an agent who huffs & puffs to change our seats and put them together. When we arrive in Denver we rush over to our new gate and with a few minutes to spare we pre check with the agent confirming we didn't neef new bording passes for this flight to Sacrament. He doesn't even look at us and says "if it says Sacramento on it you're fine" and brushes us off. Well what do you think happens? We go to get on our flight, boarding passes don't work, and this POS starts acting like it's our fault we're holding up the line. Not only was his demeanor rude he separated my husband and my seats. Seriously crash landed in Sacramento which caused the crew to be unable to open the cargo door and remove our luggage. We only found this out after we were standing around 30-40mins with the other passengers in baggage claim. Finally luggage starts moving through and an hour later my husband and I are staring at an empty luggage conveyor belt. Our luggage was missing. Reported my luggage missing in that little room everyone hopes to never be in. The woman says your luggage is in Chicago, we'll text you along the way to keep you updated on where your luggage is. She even sent me a practice text. That was the first and last text I received regarding my bags. Before we left she said we'll deliver your bags probably by morning. By 9am and receiving no text and nothing on the app, I called the Baggage Recovery Center, gave my last name and confirmation number and he instantly told me my luggage was on its way to California and would probably be out to me by noon/1. By 2:30 and no word about my luggage I call the Baggage Recovery Center again and told the woman, Pria, that I wanted an update on my bags. She said "what's wrong with your bags". Conversation ended with her saying my bags will arrive in 6-8hrs. Which we all know is another way of saying "I don't know". In the end, my husband and I got home alive and our luggage did arrive a day later. But it's still unfortunate that the horrible feeling United has given me is trumping the joy I had on vacation. But that's how bad service goes, it stays longer and travels farther than good.
