My reason for visiting was for recurring ingrown toenails on both big toes, which I can usually clear myself. ​During the procedure, he administered nine shots into my right big toe. At this point I told him no more shots, figuring how much pain can it possible be on my left toe. At this point I was sweating like crazy from pain. ​While the right toe is healing okay, the left toe is still missing a chuck of flesh Dr. Cohen removed a chunk of flesh, likely by mistake. A normal Dr. Would have said " are you sure you don't want any shots, I have to cut a piece of flesh off to access the nail". He did no such thing. He did this without consulting me. Furthermore, he did not glove up or wash his hands before the examination. ​When I returned to confront him about these issues, he dismissive, avoiding my questions. No matter what I asked him. I would not recommend this guy to anyone. It seems that he is very non caring about patient's. He is acting like other Dr's that are tired of what they do are are counting the days to retirement I say retirement is something he should take now.

In early December I visited Dr Plotka with concern about pain under my 3rd and 4th toes on my right…read morefoot. Dr Plotka prescribed prednisone and suggested changes to my orthotics which I agreed to. The thought was to have the corrected orthotics returned by Christmas. Christmas passed then New Years and still the orthotics were not available and there was no communication with Dr. Plotka or his office staff. After multiple calls to the office, the orthotics finally arrived in mid January. To my dismay, the orthotics were completely wrong. The right foot did not have the correct modification and the left, which was fine when sent out with the right, was terribly distorted. I brought them back. Dr Plotka had to send them back for the correct modification. Two weeks later, I picked them up and they were fine. However, when I received my Medicare statement, Dr Plotka charged Medicare again for the second and correct modification. I questioned the second charge with Dr Plotka. He explained that he had to complete paperwork and drive the orthotics to the post office for mailing to the orthotics company. I have worn orthotics for more than 30 years, had them modified on other occasions and have never experienced so many problems. If they had been correctly modified the first time, a second time would not have been needed...a second charge to my insurance. He should absorbed this an unfortunate failure and not charged the insurance company a second time. I will not return to this office or recommend Dr Plotka .
