He responded to my phone call and text message pretty quickly and was able to assist me with re-keying as well as fixing the handle to my door. He provided me with a flat rate before meeting for the job I described (sent him pics of what needed to be repaired, on what I thought would be just something that had to be adjusted). He took apart the lock and examined the part that was damaged and would need to be replaced, and checked to see if he had the part. He told me it would cost a bit more than what he told me before meeting, but it was reasonable, considering that a part would need to be replaced. Got here within minutes of my Yelp message and did whatever he could to minimize costs for me (get neighbors to open the main door so that he only had to open one door as opposed to 3), as well as ensure there was no damage done to any of the locks. Price imo is reasonable (and way cheaper than any of the other places I contacted). He's also very nice and definitely seemed to want to help - he offered to spot some cash (as I also didn't have my wallet on me either) to get to east bay to my backup plan if things didn't work out. Only downside is that the lock is full of grey WD40 now when I put in my key, but that's a relatively small thing. Hopefully I'll never need to call a locksmith again, but if I do, United Locksmith and Ygal will be the first I'll consider! read more

All I needed was to have a spare key made . I have a 98 Toyota Camry and I was lock out of my car July 10th 2020 at Dolores park in Sf. I called around and this company was the only one have someone available to do the work. My car was unlocked and I was quoted 150 for a single key to be made which sounded like a decent deal due to the situation. Once their tech arrived the price quote changed from 150 to 300 because of some security chip in the ecu of the car. I agreed being my only option and left the car with the technician to get money from the bank. When I got back and paid the tech I left and noticed certain panels were not lined up but waited to inspect myself till I had my mechanic take a look. Two weeks pass and my mechanic showed me each clip broken and mounting points that had been over tightened, the ecu wasn't bolted up causing a check engine light and there was missing bolts from the passenger interior panel. With that info I called whoever is the owner of this company and told him my problem, he then told me that he's guys didn't do the work and that I wasn't his customer because I couldn't find the receipt. He dodged me for a few weeks up until two days ago when he agreed to try to meet me after I got phone records of phone calls between me and him making the appointment and phone calls between me and his tech when the keys were made and the job was supposed to be done. The owner sends the same tech (that he didn't know did the install on my car) today to my job to check the damages and he opens the door and tells me he didn't do the damage and that I wasn't getting my money back. He said I unbolted the ECU and I broke the clips on the car door when again all I needed was a locksmith to make me a spare key for my car during a lockout. The owner is now avoiding my calls and I'm out the 300$ I spent for two basic 1998 Toyota keys and a new 400$ door panel. I've worked for a small business in the Bay Area for about 5 years and based on who we operate our stores I would never recommend anyone deal with this customer service. read more
