As a composer, I rarely expected to find myself reviewing a church…read more I composed, arranged, and recorded the original music for Family Christian Center's long-running production, Jesus of Nazareth, under a written royalty agreement tied to ticket sales. That agreement was mutually revised in 2014 to reflect the production's continued use of my music. Royalty payments stopped in 2018. Over the years I've tried every private avenue I could think of, including invoices, emails, certified letters, documentation, and legal counsel. Earlier this year I was told leadership was reviewing the matter, but after providing everything they requested, communication once again stopped. I'm posting this only after exhausting every private and professional effort to resolve it. I remain hopeful that Family Christian Center's leadership will choose to address this in a manner consistent with the values it teaches.

The people are loving and extremely welcoming and you can feel the close bond that they all share with one another as well. They seem to have great children and youth programs including Sunday School, a staffed nursery, and regular youth group meetings. They do a great job of reaching out to the community and doing mission projects in NWI and always seem to have some kind of mission opportunity set up for people to participate in each week. During the service they do an excellent job of blending traditional and contemporary music to appeal to different tastes in music. The pastor has given a meaningful and passionate sermon every time I have visited and always stands at the back of the sanctuary to greet everyone at the end of the service and connect with the people of the church. The environment is very relaxed - you could wear jeans and a t-shirt or a nice dress and fit right in either the way. Free coffee and snacks are also provided after the service.
