Great and incredible people. Outstanding professionalism and these folks care about your antiques as much as you do. Highly recommended.

I have never written a review before, but this experience demands sharing. The quality of the work…read moreis so disappointing and below 1 star. I would discourage using them. They talk and don't' back it up. I had a large kitchen table with 8 chairs and a separate small corner cabinet to be refinished. Sherry assured me she could deliver on the color, quality and timeliness. She even took pieces of drawers to be sure and color match accurately. The work was to be completed in 3 weeks, but that took 12 weeks. Once returned, the table and chairs were poorly sanded, you can feel the grit, and it was not smooth like before. The product was applied with a paint brush and every brush stroke was terribly visible. The finish was blotchy and dull, no gloss like before. During delivery 5 of the 8 chairs were damaged, requiring them to return to the shop to be repaired. It was a poor patch job. You can see the touch ups that are not blended in or color matched correctly. Sherry assured me that the kitchen dining table was durable and would withstand moisture and normal everyday use for a meal. We waited a week after receiving it so it would have extra curing time. The 1st time we used it our dinner plates left rings on the table finish and that was through a placemat. The napkin holder and salt and pepper shakers stuck to the table and left rings. Clearly the table lacked the proper finishing layers. There is no finishing polyurethane coating. No gloss, no smooth surface. The chairs and pedestal are sadly similar. The more we use them the more the finish wears away. My corner cabinet was not finished cleanly. Only the visible portions were treated, so it is now a two sad tone-finish. The cabinet fronts and structure surfaces resulted in different shades of color, very blotchy and inconsistent. She claimed that the color inconsistency was due to the wood. It was all maple and isn't that what she was experienced in doing? It does not match the sample color she took. It is now a throw-away piece. Through the long process Sherry assured me that she was experienced and would get it right AND if for ANY reason I wasn't happy that I didn't have to pay, or she would refund me. Upon delivery, I did pay her the majority of the negotiated rate. I wanted to believe that my table would be durable. However after our 1st meal when it was clear that the table couldn't even be used without incurring further damage, I asked for a refund. She sent only 40% of what I paid. The table, pedestal and chairs require being completely redone, meaning stripping it all down to the raw material and starting over. ALL of the pieces need to be redone so they look alike. Understandably no other refinishing business will try to repair or warranty her work since they do not know what was done. I have provided pictures and video of the damage to the table and chairs and repeatedly asked for a full refund so I can start over. Sherry has not responded to text, phone or email. Sherry has not fulfilled her word and provided me with a full refund or a quality finished product. I have a table that I have to cover with a fitted flannel sheet, cardboard covered in plastic, and hide it under a tablecloth and placemats just so we can eat. Be wary before going into business with Low Country Restorations in St. Helena Island and giving Sherry your precious heirlooms. I paid her to ruin mine.

Furniture Doctor, Inc is the epitome of expertise & professionalism, and will remain our go to…read moresource for local furniture repair. We were lucky enough to find them when our household furniture was severely damaged during a move. They were able to do all the repairs in our home, and the repairs are virtually undetectable. They took the time to repair and blend each piece of solid wood furniture so carefully, the pieces were returned to like new status. We were so impressed that we have entrusted then to restore several heirloom and antique pieces. They were able to pick up, restore and deliver our desk within a week, and miraculously repaired a precious chair that had deep "puppy-teething" marks! Bruce and all of the staff are extremely professional and we recommend Furniture Doctor, Inc whole-heartedly!
