They were absolutely fantastic! I am so glad that we elected Universal Ministries as the place to get ordained. The website was very easy to follow. You have the option to select a package with a contribution associated with it. In addition, the package can be customized to the title you are looking for. They are very easy to get a hold of as well. Once the contribution was placed we received an invoice via email immediately. We did not get the ordination email so we called UM. They were quick to answer our call and gave us the tracking number for the order. I would recommend Universal Ministries to everyone! read more

Many of you might not know that you can become an ordained minister with the simple click of a keyboard. Well, get on it future reverends! Except.......DON'T do it through this online source. Many friends of mine have gone through Universal Ministries to get their ordination so naturally I decided to do the same. I entered my information, received my confirmation, sent in my $10 check for my official certificate. Never received my certificate. 10 e-mails and about 5 calls later, nothing. I even spoke to the man in charge a few times (no, not God.....I believe his name is Doug), but to no avail. Well, they have my $10 and apparently my unsent certificate that they are holding hostage for some reason. Can I at least have my $10 back? Nope. I've given up and decided to take my resentment to Yelp. Do yourself and your wallet a favor and go through some other free online ordination website where you might actually receive something in exchange for that hard working $$ you're throwing out there. If only I could give this place negative stars. Seriously, Yelp, let's work on getting negative stars so that there won't be any limits to calculating just how bad a business can be. My friend was ordained through Universal Ministries back in 2009. Now, I've asked her to marry myself and my future hubs but she (and myself) cannot get a hold of anyone there to provide her with a notarized document. We've both been calling and leaving messages for the last week and a half. My last message was incredibly polite and basically begging them to call us. My friend is going mad because she's starting to face the realization that she won't be able to marry us as they won't answer the phone or reply to emails. Horrible business. I have NEVER had a problem with Universal Ministries. There's NO NEED to order the certification. Simply hit the PRINT button and print it out! LMAO. I did and send it in with $10 to the state of Ohio and now I have my license to legally solemnize marriages in Ohio. Pretty easy. Why would you pay for your certification???? I DID order the nice little ID cards and received them in less than 14 days. VERY happy with them. Nice thick plastic cards. Unsure why there's such a bad review..... read more

I have no clue as to what y'all are doing different, maybe different state? But I received my ordination package from United Ministries back in 199? And registered with city hall a day or two later. I have performed. 3 weddings and 4 funerals, and I can enter any hospital as a member of the Clergy. read more

Became ordained in 2003, never had any issues. Placed orders, and as the website says, it took 4 weeks to come in.

I went through UM as well and had no problems, but what I did read was there were 18 people that commited fraud against the church with bad checks. Was Casey one of them, makes me wonder. Over one million members and 18 complaints. I bet Casey has more personally . read more

While I find it humourous that Douglas H. (whom is most likely Rev. Hickman himself) has posted a response in ALMOST the third person, I, in fact, DID order two things from the church (a rather plain ordination ID with blue crest, and a pre-marital counseling book). I got them in about a week, but was disappointed in the counseling book. I, however, did not pay by check; I used a pre-paid VISA debit card. I have no other affiliation with this church other than being ordained, and I had no problem with my order. Perhaps checks are the problem, after all. read more
