Update #1: There…read morewas a huge ant hill on the base of a tree that my dog walked into the other day. Thankfully it was close to the communal car wash, so I was able to run him over there and get the ants off him quickly. He hated every second of this, and the ants somehow ended up biting me to shreds, but I got them off him. After that, I took him back to my apartment and then walked back down to the office to share this with the staff, thinking they would share with the exterminators to avoid other issues. But, everyone looked at me like I was crazy when I said I wanted to share the location of this ant hill and why. One of their newest staff members followed me outside (J thank you for coming with me and I'm sorry you got elected for this by default, but I very seriously appreciate you) and made note of the issue. Update #2: Someone mentioned the bad landscaping in another review and prior to moving in I kind of rolled my eyes about it... right? Bc with no context it's an odd thing to be upset about. But here is the thing.... It's a very dog friendly complex... SO.... Dead grass and random sticking up metal parts and holes in the ground = not the best place to walk your dog. Add a bunch of dogs, aerated turf, lots of rain, Straight up dirt with the metal bits and mess. I don't like it. At all. Update #3: Someone before me posted about the fire alarm and said it was painful to hear. I've now experienced it and can agree. This fire alarm is so loud that I couldn't get my cats out of my bedroom, my dog cried the entire walk downstairs and my ears still hurt badly from being either in my apartment, on my balcony or being outside. The video I posted is only of outside. But hopefully you get the gist. Thank God there was no actual fire today Bc I would not have been able to save all my animals. Update #4: the stomping above me never ends. It wakes us up at night almost daily and I miss sleep. I captured a video of it one afternoon for reference. 100% can't wait to move out.

From the absurd rules to the repeated break-ins during my stay, it was one of the worst complexes I've ever lived in. They'll find any excuse to charge you extra fees, whether it's for cleaning or repairs on items that were already broken before you moved in.To make matters worse, there's a clear issue with racism within the community. If you're a person of color, be prepared for discrimination both from the management and other residents.Additionally, once I moved out, they displayed unprofessional behavior by ignoring my attempts to contact them until I persisted. This lack of communication was completely unacceptable.Overall, it was the worst experience I've ever had, and I wouldn't recommend this place to anyoe!

So they extended my lease to 8/24 (2 extra weeks that I didn't ask for) and charged me the month-to-month rent price of $2000+ for the 19 additional days (mind you, I was already moved out before the 19 additional days even started) which costed me $1873 and they charged me an additional $360 for leaving a few drill holes in the walls. Assistant Manager Deborah Kelly is a narcissist and will play in your face. Had the nerve to laugh at me while I was explaining to her how this isn't right. Also don't expect the maintenance staff to handle your requests in a timely manner. Save your response, I don't care to hear your bs excuses. Do better by the residents that shovel money into your pockets.

Michelle, Colton, and Lauren have been so welcoming during ordeal. Michelle has made me forget I was spending money for different things and has me excited about the move. The smiles I get each time I walk in the door to the "No Erica, you aren't calling me too much" after the 10th time I've called for the day with a different question or concern. Michelle is always ready and willing to answer my questions and assist me with my concerns. Colten sold us on the tour before we even walked out of the leasing office. He showed us all the beautiful amenities and I think we were ready to sign before even seeing the apartments. Lauren is always so welcoming and warm. It makes someone feel as though they will be the only person living on site. When someone knows your name for all the right reasons is a plus. I know we've made the right decision by moving to Artisan at Brightleaf. I'm looking forward to a long livable positive relationship with this complex.

Horrible complex to live at . Multiple maintenance issues since the beginning of my lease . Rest of the staff from the leasing office (Sandra Boykin and Jamilha ) will sweet talk you on becoming a resident but after being a resident they are not helpful , any issues you bring up to them they make you feel like you are bothering them and will get an attitude instead of being cordial and adddresing any issues during your lease . The complex is a very dirty , roaches e everywhere including in side the unit ( hallways , parking deck,, main entrance to the building , ) the events they have monthly are horrible, nothing but cheap stuff from the store and don't have enough for residents . Overall a horrible experience for the amount of money they charge each resident . If I could give this place a negative review below zero I would . I have had to stay proactive about my unit issues and waste my money and time fixing most of the issues . They have a lot of building code violations and health violations aswell . I have been troubled with noise issues during these years. 1) I first lived on the second floor. The window and the ceiling always produce noises of cracking. Despite that I have complained several times, no one treated me seriously until I left a one-star comment on Google Map. 2) I moved to the top floor later. Recently, they are replacing the roof. Every morning, I am woken up by the noise of someone walking on the cracking roof BEFORE 8 AM! I email the leasing office several times. They replied my first email and claimed that they would communicate with the vendor, but the noise did not stop. The other emails following up on this issue from me have been ignored. In addition to the two experiences I mentioned above, 3) The building if of poor quality. The ceiling leaks. There were several very noisy fans put in the corridor to dry the wall after it snowed this winter. 4) The do have roaches! 5) The gym is not maintained in time. It takes centuries for them to replace or repair equipments that do not work properly. 6) The apartment was not cleaned before I moved in! I found dead roaches in the room!! There are good things though. The maintenance team fixes things in the apartment quickly, and they always try to keep your place clean while doing their job. I also appreciate one of the ladies in the leasing office for signing my package when I was not able to come back home. However, overall, as a place where I pay to get enough sleep, chapel hill north is a poor choice.

"The Height of Urban Luxury" ???…read more Southpoint Village can only be referred to as a "luxury" apartment complex in the same sense that jumping out of a 10th floor window can be called a way to exit a building. As of this writing, it is Memorial Day Weekend and the pool, which is supposed to be open year-round, is empty and nowhere near ready for use. The only community grills are locked inside the fence alongside sun-bleached, grimy furniture that evokes a long-forgotten roadside motel. In keeping with that aesthetic, at least half a dozen abandoned cars are scattered throughout the parking lot. It is inconceivable that management hasn't noticed these cars. As my photos show, some lack license plates and have flat tires. While the units are spacious in terms of total square feet, the layouts are poorly designed. Massive dining areas cut heavily into the living rooms, and in most layouts, the kitchens are cramped. The fake wood floors are impossible to get clean, and the hot water tanks are too small if you happen to have long hair or simply enjoy a good shower. As for the appliances, they are beyond terrible--it's as if someone traveled back in time and raided a warehouse in the Soviet Union. The staff are personally very nice, but it does not substitute for their incompetence. Aside from failing to prepare the pool for summer or address the abandoned vehicles, their communication is abysmal. To announce a mandatory maintenance entry, management bypassed email and the community app entirely. Instead, they opted to post a single paper printout at one specific office entrance. Because of this, I was getting out of the shower when maintenance knocked a few times and immediately began unlocking my front door. In any other complex this wouldn't be an issue, but these doors cannot be deadbolted from the inside to prevent staff entry. There are a lot of apartments within a few miles of here. If you want luxury, or the guarantee of privacy, I suggest you look elsewhere.

When we arrived, there was nobody in the office, in the middle of the afternoon on a Friday. We finally met up with the leasing agent, who informed us there were no elevators on the property. My husband, who is a wheelchair user, was unable to even see the unit she had available and she then went on to tell us that some of the amenities were down a flight of stairs. Considering this property was built in 2006, this is literally illegal. It is fine to have some units only accessible by stairs, but the common areas MUST be accessible per the ADA. This was a very short tour and I will probably be reaching out to the management company as well. This is absolutely unacceptable in 2023. Besides that, there was nothing special about the community, and we were not even shown the pool area, or other amenities. It was all under renovation so hard to tell what was construction and what was just the state of the community. Fine if you want the bare minimum with a mall in your backyard, but if you want anything above that, look elsewhere. I cannot support a company that doesn't abide by the laws for equal access.

If I could rate them lower I would.When I moved in it took several months to get everything working, from my sink falling out of my counter, to a moldy washing machine and broken dryer, broken heat during a big freeze for over 72 hours, I've seen it all. I paid so much extra in utilities because my hot water heater was old and breaking constantly. Management also refused to answer reasonable questions, such as the brand of rock salt they used in the winter (my dog had ingested it and I needed to figure out the tox report for her vet team). I did not feel safe living here, I nearly got hit by several cars speeding, accosted by other residents and vistors, and someone lacked the ability to control their dog. I had to physically pull a 45+ lbs dog off of my 12 lbs one. My upstairs neighbor was loud, smoked (in a smoke free community), and when I complained I was told "he's been gone for months," "Nobody lives up there," etc when I've seen him go home every day. I was told once to confront him myself by management because they were too short staffed to do it themselves. I once found threatening notes from and to other neighbors and weapons such as crowbars stuck in the ground. Oh, also nobody picks after themselves. Maintenance is incompetent and cost me several hundred dollars in medical expenses, after I alerted them of my vents being filthy and causing my allergies to me to urgent care multiple times. My doctors all instructed me to avoid my allergens, and the head of maintenance ignored my instructions and blew the filthy vent crud all over my apartment to "clean it." The entire time I lived here, I thought I was going crazy from all the gaslighting from the staff. I attempted to speak to the property manager SEVERAL times and she refused to acknowledge me. Her underlings also covered for her and deflected at every chance they got. They would constantly acknowledge my experience here was terrible and they will do their best to "improve" but in the end nothing was ever done. Do not waste your time, money or energy here.
