Cute homey coffee shop. Matcha Latte not on the menu, but asked anyway if they had one. Was told that they do! Asked my 20 questions about the Matcha Latte: is it just matcha powder, nothing else, not from a mix? I was assured it was "just" matcha, so I ordered. As we were finishing, I mentioned "unsweetened please". She said "oh, we can't do that: the matcha comes pre-sweetened". Um, then that's not "just matcha", it's a powdered mix that you take a scoop from and mix with water. Big difference. That's the equivalent of telling someone that instant coffee is just like regular coffee. She said she could make me a Chai unsweetened, the 20 questions about that ensued to make sure it didn't have milk solids in it. By this time I'd clearly annoyed her with my questions, so I got a Chai, lol. Who knows the make up of that. I'll come back with my husband to get him a coffee, but will continue my quest for a Matcha Latte elsewhere in Burnet. read more

I ordered a iced vanilla latte with oat milk. It tasted like a cup of milk with coffee. It tasted bad. I couldn't even taste the vanilla. Who still charges extra for oat milk? The smell in there smelled like cleaner. Pine sol. I wouldn't be able to sit comfortably and bring a laptop in there cause it's way too cold for me. It was all good! The Americano, they crushed it. Rich flavor. Hot. Fresh well-sourced espresso roasted beans. The cinnamon scone!! Wowser. Delicious. Got two slices of sweet bread when I get home. The strawberry banana smoothie with almond butter, fantastic. The owner and a kind barista there, "J.", went the extra mile to warm my personal mug, before I put the Americano coffee inside for my trip on to S.A. TX. If possible, the ambience was even nicer than the taste of the coffee & pastries. Felt like a cedar lodge at Big Bear. Can't wait to stop in Burnet again for this. The coffee was really good! I always just get black with no cream or sugar, but I can definitely taste the difference in coffees due to working at a coffee shop and having to do tastings every morning and was taught how to taste the different notes and such.. I do enjoy the fact that this company is faith based and no ashamed to show it! I'm a Christ follower and it's nice to have. Place to go to be in that same Christian environment!! Part of my personality is being happy and chipper in life and just trying to make others feel the same way, I'm just happy for life! I guess my personality didn't match the employee that helped me that day. Don't get me wrong, she was SUPER nice, just seemed sluggish like she wasn't extremely happy to be there. Now I get that people have bad days, especially in the morning so I'll for sure give this place another shot because the atmosphere and the coffee was great, definitely worth coming back for. Such a cute little cafe on the square in Burnet. The owner works what seems like every job in the place, and she's an absolute delight! The is the star of the show at Unshakable Grounds. Let's talk food and drink: -Cold brew: made in house and amazing -Iced latte: might have been better hot since I was trying to get a cappuccino and didn't love the amount a milk -Warm apple fritter: seriously rich and dense and delicious, could be a whole meal -Croissant sandwich: more like a croissant panini, which means the probably once fluffy croissant was all flattened out, good nonetheless There were surprisingly diverse keto options, which is cool for anyone who likes that life. Popped in here while we were in Burnet after taking the Austin Steam Train to town. It was a cold rainy afternoon but that didn't stop me from order a nice cold brew with a splash of oat milk while keeping warm on the comfy couches in this coffee shop. Giving this place 3 stars only bc ambiance is cute - besides Strbks, this is really the only coffee shop in town to sit and read a book. Ordered a chai - on the sweeter side (which is ok) but it wasn't very hot. Also had a panini which was really not a panini - too salty, just sliced white bread spread meat cheese. Not even melted cheese. The pickles on the side were like basic soggy flavorless grocery store slices. Not worth the money to eat here and very disappointing - I make better sandwiches for my kids. read more

The young lady who took my breakfast order was very nice and polite. The other young lady who I believe is a manger because 2 guest walked in with a little dog on their shoulder and immediately told them no dogs inside. I get that 100% but when she continued to complain about the guest she had leave for 5 minutes very loud, it ruined my breakfast. I did not come in there to hear complain about guests and say they think this is a zoo. I did not even finish my breakfast or coffee. I called her and explained that it's not polite to complain about guests in front of guest when they are trying to enjoy their breakfast. She told me that is not my place and she can do what she wants. I'm said just won't be receiving any more of my business but I will write a review which I hate doing negative reviews during these times. But maybe the owner can talk to her about customer relations. The place is nicely decorated for peaceful times. read more

I stopped here last weekend for lunch and the brownies tasted like soap. I even asked the person working at the register if they were good and she assured me they were very tasty. Great little Christian coffee shop on the downtown square. We guzzled two frozen blended coffee drinks that were done very well really fast and I forgot to take a picture of them....senior moment. I loved a ginger scone that they bake fresh each morning. Great friendly service and lots of goodies to gnosh on, enjoyed looking at the license plate collection on the roof beams. If someday I find myself in a position to open a place where friends and family can relax and fellowship, this would be the place I'd want to mirror. Our first morning in Burnet, we went out hunting for a good cup of joe with my trusty Yelp in hand. Mind you, not for average joe or even meh joe, we are proud card carrying members of the coffee snobbery club (or so we tell ourselves after a very educational cupping class a few years back lol.) I'm very grateful to the wise and wonderful Yelp'ers that led us to Unshakable Grounds. Not only is the coffee crafted to near perfection but the lovely owner could not be more genuinely happy to welcome guests. We chatted a bit with the owner while placing our order then I got busy with work while hubs continued the conversation and learned how this wonderful gem came to be. The atmosphere was so peaceful, I stayed for the remainder of the work day while hubs did his golf thing. And then came back the n cut day with the other wives :) The cold brew and hot coffee are both delicious, smoothies were creamy goodness, and the roast beef panini and blueberry muffin were scrumptious too. Owners are so friendly, and are quick to start up conversation and share their beautiful story. I'm not a coffee drinker, so I enjoyed the great iced tea. They also have fruit smoothies-YUMMY! This was the best caramel macchiato I have ever had. My friend got one with normal milk and I got mine with almond milk and we both agreed it was amazing!! Our group got the breakfast tacos, breakfast paninis, and a cinnamon roll, and they were absolutely delicious too! While out scouting spring time Blue Bonnets we discovered this great little Shop. nice small town homey insides and pleasant staff. Food was great ! BUT what made it even more enjoyable was visiting with the owner and hear about the shop and how it came to be and more. Cute place! Walked in 15 minutes before they closed (oops, sorry!) but was still welcomed in with no signs of closing. Walked right up to order with no line. My friend and I were obviously first timers so the sweet girl up front introduced the menu and said basically anything you get at Starbucks, they can make. So of course we had to test that claim, haha! We ordered matcha tea "frappuccinos" with peach. They told us they'd never made it before, but you'd never have known upon tasting it! Fantastic! Really nice lady owns it and has great gals working for her. The pastries, sandwiches, mocha, latte, and americano coffees are all amazing! The shop is laid out so you never feel crowed and even those with mobility issues or service does can move and sit around without problem or feeling in the way. My is my complaint is they close too early and they lack signage go catch people on the two very busy highways that pass them but because they aren't as noticeable as those directly on the road or those with large signs at driver eye level. read more
