Buffalo Fries and a Grass Fed Lamb Burger and a Buttermilk Fried Chicken Sandwich, both served as sliders.

Two sliders tonight, along with the buffalo fries. They were not busy at all, in fact I was the 3rd table. The sliders both had nice flavor, one lamb and one fried chicken, but the fries were terribly cold and served in the weirdest way possible: diced celery and carrots on top of the buffalo sauce on the fries. Additionally, the celery was white and had no green to it at all. I was intrigued, but only in a bad way as it was too much pretending to be a great idea for what could've been a simple win: hot fries with some nice spicy buffalo sauce. The pickled beets as a garnish were exceptionally tasty, and being chilled, quite nice (unlike the chilly fries). The restaurant was clean and well lit, and the bartender was efficient and kind. With so many great options off Van Ness, I won't patron them again.

Came here on a Friday night with a large party of ~10. It wasn't super busy so we were able to all be seated immediately. Very cute decor and ambience was nice. *note that it's on the second floor. The paper menu is for food only and you need to order your cider from the bar. There's about 20 different cider and we sampled a few before deciding on ordering. For an amateur cider consumer like me, I liked the Fort point super dry (#17), Aspall dry (#14), and Far West (#18). #17- very straightforward and easy to drink for me. #14- similar to 17 but slightly sweeter. #18- i like the cinnamon taste, reminds me of spiced apple cider. on the sweeter side and doesn't taste like alcohol. The bartender is very friendly and gave good recommendations. Ciders are great and if you like cider, you will love this place. (note: there's only cider, no beer. hope you're not surprised) additional notes: the music was at a good volume when we arrived around 9pm, but once it got later and the DJ started playing, music got a bit loud for conversations.

Great variety of cider and awesome ambiance. Two of my friends have hosted gatherings here and the vibes were great. I enjoyed just going around and looking at all the cool decor Tip: You can order the flight to try several ciders or you can ask to try a free sample of ciders before ordering. I liked their citricy ciders the best personally.

If you enjoy cider, this place is a MUST. The variety and sheer quantity of ciders on the menu - both bottle and draft - is jaw dropping. Every cider in our flight rotations was great and unique. We really enjoyed talking about the ones we loved most, especially the pear-based cider from Sweden as well as the cider with maple in it. These were next level. When you arrive, the place may be quieter than you'd expect (I believe this is due to its location). Don't let that fool you. I genuinely think Upcider would be wall-to-wall with people if it were in, say, Marina or North Beach. Regardless, I'll still be making the trip back to enjoy Upcider and their very knowledgeable staff.

Grass Fed Lamb Burger - pretty tasty; with Garlic Fries - yum!

Came here on a random Friday night. Vibes were chill, loved the ambiance and this spot being on the second floor at the corner of a street, it was nice to sit by the window and overlook the street corner. DRINK: Chardonnay - okay FOOD: lamb burger with garlic fries- we were starving so we inhaled it. Super tasty though but MY specific preference is beef patty greater than lamb patty despite being obsessed with everything else lamb. That's just my personal preference and doesn't change how delicious the burger was. The garlic fries were yummy Good vibes, I'd be back

Cider is great, food is okay, ambiance and service is great. Super cute ambiance/decor/ lighting with views overlooking polls. Cider was really good, the food was okay but honestly I would have preferred to go somewhere else's to eat. Would come back for drinks only!

I was on the hunt for hard kombucha and was headed to The Arbor when I walked past this place and wandered inside and HOLY MOLY what amazing food, get the chicken wings! And try the sliders cabbage wrapped with sweet potato fries! The blueberry ketchup is so good! Great service, chill spot with couches and chill areas for gatherings and game playing. Pac Mac arcade game on the wall and places to charge electronics. So glad I wandered in.

Very cute spot on Polk street and I was pleasantly surprised to learn that there is a place to get cider in the city! It's a nice change from all the beer, wine and cocktail places. It's self service from the bar and you can find a spot anywhere to take a seat - it wasn't very busy on a Friday night. The music was a weird mix of electronic and I think they could've capitalized on the chill vibes in there with a more mellow playlist. The cider selection is pretty large and the bartenders are very patient about explaining them and letting you taste test what you like. I can't remember what I got exactly but they were both delicious. Definitely let them know what you like and try little sips until you find what you prefer. I didn't try any of the food but I think this would be a nice after work spot for a get together since it's pretty big but isn't super crowded.

There are few places in SF that is serves Cider only and this place is it. I was exposed to cider in one of my Europe trips and was thoroughly surprised this place existed. So many unique flavors. My fav was the guava cider. Staff also very friendly and lets you try as many as you like! The food is also really good. I tried the lamb burger medium rare and loved it. The food has Mediterranean / Middle East flavors and spices I enjoyed. Space was open and airy and a refreshing change to the bar scene in SF. Looking forward to coming back.

Upcider is one of my favorite restaurants/bars in lower nob hill. If you are a cider lover like myself Upcider is fabulous as there are a plethora of artisanal spiked ciders that are lovely, bubbly and light. That being said, my all time favorite item at upcider is their bread pudding. This bread pudding is served piping hot, buttery and will melt in your mouth with notes of caramel, maple and fresh cream dolloped atop. Every bite is decadent and delicious! The garlic fries and flatbread are also great. **Pro tip: make sure to ask for the blueberry ketchup on the side.**

    Compare with a regular lahmacun
    Berrin Y.

We got $18 lahmacun!!! We have been told it is 3 times larger than regular size ones. This is not true st all, this is unbelievable!!!! Go get your lahmacun from Sultan at Livermore or Alaturka in SF for $8 They are ripping costumers I can tell.

    The upstairs entry.

The staff was very attentive and helpful both with selecting ciders and giving recommendations for food. All in all great service, food, and cider selections!

    Any dry cider on tap?

We were given tap as soon as we sat down

Does Upcider offer any happy hour specials?

Not sure if they have Happy Hour but they do have a flight of 6- 4 oz. for $20 and other deals. It's a cool place which also serves appetizers.

Are flights done here for cider?

Yes! I believe they do flights of 6. It's great.

The menu is very clear about what you're in for. - Lavender Sgroppino: basically a fancy alcoholic frozen lemonade, everything I wanted it to be! - Irish Coffee and Parmesan: this was... interesting. The base drink, basically a frozen espresso martini, was good, but the topper cheese was SOOO salty. If that's your vibe, try it! We switched out for a brut, which was lovely. The apps were excellent! We got the smoked salmon sliders and the 100 layer, both of which were well-designed and very tasty. Our waiter was excellent. Super attentive without being invasive, very fast service. And the vibe of the place is so cute. Will DEFINITELY be coming back for the full dinner!

The Fish & Chips are the best I've had in the city! Not greasy at all and simply delightful. They also have a solid selection of beers on tap; I enjoyed a Deschutes IPA and a Guinness. I want to try their Shepherd's Pie next time, and my husband wants to get the bangers and mash. He was hoping they had a scotch egg, but that's the one item not on the menu. I hate leaving negative reviews, but my experience with the owner of this bar was so upsetting that…read moreI feel compelled to share it. I'm currently living in San Francisco for six weeks while caring for my father, who is recovering from a double lung transplant at UCSF. It's been an emotionally exhausting time, and I was excited to find a neighborhood bar within walking distance where I could occasionally relax and decompress. I first discovered this bar after a trip to Trader Joe's. During that visit, the bartenders, especially Chris, and the rest of the staff were welcoming, friendly, attentive, and wonderful. Based on that experience, I was looking forward to returning. Unfortunately, my interactions with the owner have been the complete opposite. On my second visit, the owner repeatedly ignored me while I was trying to order. When he noticed my service dog, who was leashed, quietly sitting beside me, and causing absolutely no disruption, he loudly yelled across a crowded bar, "Get your dog out of here." I calmly explained that he is a service dog. The owner immediately rolled his eyes and demanded to know what service my dog provides. Because I did not feel comfortable disclosing personal medical information to a room full of strangers, I asked if I could privately show documentation instead. He became increasingly hostile, telling me that he "knew his rights" and that I "didn't know anything," while continuing to demand an explanation. Feeling embarrassed and cornered, I reluctantly answered his question. He rolled his eyes again and asked, "What do you want?" When I ordered a Corona, he responded by pointing his finger in my face and saying, "You mean you want a Corona PLEASE." He refused to serve me unless I repeated the order exactly as he demanded. I was shocked, humiliated, and left the bar in tears. Several patrons nearby apologized to me and expressed how uncomfortable they were witnessing the interaction. A few days later, I decided to give the bar a second chance and brought my partner with me. My partner was seated with my service dog while I walked to the bar to order. The owner immediately recognized me and once again said, "Get your dog out." I calmly reminded him that we had already had this conversation and that I had previously explained my dog's service role. He responded by asking whether I was providing a service to the dog or whether the dog was providing a service to me. After I again explained the situation, he asked what I wanted to order. I ordered two dirty gin martinis, and before I could even finish speaking, he began walking away. When he returned with the check, I asked him to keep the tab open. He again corrected me and said I needed to say, "Keep it open PLEASE." At that point, I asked why he seemed to treat me this way every time I came in. His response was, "Piss off. Finish your martini and you're never allowed back here again. Get out." Once again, I left in tears. Once again, nearby patrons appeared shocked by the way I was being treated. I've worked in professional environments my entire career and strive to treat everyone with kindness, patience, and respect. I was never rude, disruptive, or confrontational. I simply wanted to enjoy a drink at a neighborhood bar while accompanied by my service dog. The bartenders and staff were wonderful. My experience with the owner, however, was one of the most humiliating and hostile customer service experiences I have ever had.
