I had to track down a completely different branch just to speak to a human being, and their solution? "You need to go in person to that location because of outstanding invoices." What invoices? The ones that don't exist in your own system? The ones you never notified me about while happily swiping my card every single month? This isn't customer service. It's customer hostage-taking. They'll take your money with zero friction, but the moment you need actual access to the thing you're paying for, you're on your own. No answers. No accountability. Just the privilege of chasing down staff across multiple locations to beg for entry to a facility you've already funded. If you enjoy paying premium prices for phantom memberships and speaking to voicemail, this is your place. Everyone else: run.

There is a good variety of equipment, and while it can get busy during peak hours, I've rarely had to wait long to use what I need. When equipment does break, it seems to get repaired or replaced fairly quickly. It's important to remember that this is a budget-friendly commercial gym, so don't expect luxury amenities or a boutique fitness experience. That said, if you're looking for a clean, well-maintained gym with a positive atmosphere and great value for money, I would absolutely recommend it.

I recently cancelled my membership, and even though I did it properly, they told me there's a mandatory 30-day notice period, which means you still have to pay for another month after you cancel -- even if you don't use the gym at all. Then, to make things worse, they charged me $62 for an annual fee after my cancellation. When I asked about it, they said it's "in the policy." Honestly, it feels like they design these rules just to squeeze extra money out of people on their way out. It doesn't stop there -- if you downgrade your plan, they charge you another $30 fee just to do that. Again, technically it might be "policy," but it's terrible customer treatment. And for what? The gym is overcrowded most of the time, and during busy hours it's almost impossible to find an empty treadmill or machine. That was the main reason I wanted to leave in the first place. So between the hidden fees, the lack of transparency, and the overcrowding, I'd say Fitness World is one of the worst value gyms I've ever joined. I strongly suggest checking out literally any other gym before signing up here.

I did this to make sure I'm doing the correct excise for the right muscles. I'm not gym savvy, so I need help in this area. My PT's name is Elaine. She's wonderful. She does not only teach you the form, she tells who which muscle groups should be engaged and why it is important to work those muscles out. I am very much pleased with my training as I learn a lot. I am making the most out of it. As for my gym membership, I've only managed to take advantage of bodyjam class. This is a dance class and is so much fun. I like Maureen and Glen. I think they're both cool. I have yet to take the yoga class and RPM class (spin class). I'm pretty sure I will enjoy them too. One thing that needs improvement is the reception desk. I think some people at the reception are lazy. When I tried to leave a message for my PT, I was told that it's no guarantee that the message would reach my PT. WTH! Is it so hard to walk over the gym floor, look for the PT, and give the message?! I will not leave a message if it's not important. Duh!? Overall I would still recommend this gym. When I signed the contract, Jaff assured me that I could cancel the membership anytime by providing one month's notice. I was also told that one additional fee would be deducted before the cancellation was processed. However, it is now May 2025, and despite sending over 20 emails and repeatedly requesting cancellation--more than 100 times--my membership has still not been terminated. On May 10, I relocated to India for medical reasons. I submitted my employment letter, flight ticket, and boarding pass as proof that I am no longer in Canada, and once again asked for the membership to be canceled. Yet, no one is responding appropriately or taking action. I genuinely don't understand why this is happening. This mishandling is causing me unnecessary distress during an already difficult time.

Even if it was a misunderstanding, the approach was embarrassing enough that I no longer feel comfortable coming back to the gym. It's especially disappointing because the gym promotes supporting women, but the way I was treated and publicly embarrassed did not reflect that message. Because of this experience, I cancelled my membership at She's Fit Metrotown. I do want to acknowledge that the General Manager handled the situation professionally afterward and was respectful in listening - but unfortunately the public confrontation on the floor overshadowed what had otherwise been a very positive experience.
