As a family practice center, you're taking a huge chance with your health. I've seen three of their docs. Dr. Steele is great if you want a doc who doesn't listen, make eye contact, or come out from behind her computer screen. She does like to just prescribe anything to get you out the door. Dr. Kapoor was a visit because my PCP was unavailable. She contradicted the diagnosis I'd received a week earlier (this was to be follow-up for pneumonia) and told me i had asthma problems because I have animals. She told me to get rid of my animals and prescribed medication for reflux, because I am overweight. What an idiot! Our doctor now is Thuy Le-Rathell. She is wonderful, caring and competent. Unfortunately, she left for vacation and my husband needed a maintenance medication refilled. It took literally over 10 phone calls to their office, the insurance company and the pharmacy to get it straightened out. The doc who issued the refill did it first without a diagnosis code, then with an address for UPMC in Pittsburgh that the pharmacy could not accommodate. Thank heavens for the insurance company concierge! Save yourself the time and frustration. Go elsewhere. They don't give a damn. read more

Dr Syed (Primary Care) and his staff doing an amazing job. They are always friendly and professional. Dr Syed really takes time to listen to you, as who knows your body best than you? You can't find better care in the area! My two sons also go to him, and one of those sons only goes to a doctor unless if it's almost a life and death need! He actually like Dr Syed. The office is very clean, and you are taken back for your appointment at a very timely fashion. read more

Recently, in the last few years, their office moved next door to a bigger building. Parking is super easy and never an issue, and the waiting room is huge! I've always had fantastic care here, especially by Emily, my post recent physician. She actually cares and puts forth effort, I would recommend her to anyone looking for someone who shows passion and cares. read more

I started going to Good Hope after my primary doctor's office closed. The C.R.N.P. I see is McKenna Banks and she is wonderful in addressing my medical needs and prescriptions. The office staff is always pleasant and respectful. It's been a year now since I transferred to Good Hope and I have never been disappointed in either my medical care or ease of making an appointment. Nurse Practioner Banks always reviews my medical file before my appointment which makes my visit faster and uncomplicated. Their medical staff always follows up with my following any hospitalization and updates my symptoms and prescription list which is reassuring. Their office also completes testing in the office; e.g. bloodwork, urine, etc. Such a convenience. They care. I highly recommend. read more

Was seen there twice for my ear. The second time doctor prescribed steroids. Wound up going to Lebanon VA to get a proper diagnosis. Had to get a CAT scan, and more powerful antibiotics since the originals were not strong enough to combat infection. Now I have to go to a dentist, and an ear nose and throat specialist to clean up the mess they created. I expect better for my primary care. I called in and the pre-recorded prompt system is impossible to get through. None of the options were what I needed. Even if I button smashed, it take yo to the same person. I needed a prior-authorization done for a prescription. First I was told by staff that it should be done by the pharmacy. When I got to the pharmacy, I was told the doctor's office is the one that should complete that. So I called 5/25/2016. I was told that it would be done. 5/27/2016, I called the insurance company. They told me no one called. I called the office again and was told it would be made "high priority" and "I would receive a call back". That never happened. They are now closed. There is a lot of pointing fingers and not following through what they said would be done. Once they do what was promised, I will consider updating this review. read more

Horrific. Ever since Cumberland Family Practice closed and my doctor moved here, it's been a nightmare. It would be easier to find street drugs than to speak to someone. I called 5 minutes after opening, the teleprompter stated the wait was over 30 minutes and that if I left a call back request, my call would be returned in the order it was received. No call. I called again an hour and a half prior to the office closing, choosing to wait as the teleprompter this time said the wait was 30 minutes. I've now been listening to the same recorded bs for 01:30:28, and just looked at the hours online, they are now closed. Meanwhile, I contacted a real eye doctor, went there for treatment at a specialist rate, and will STILL need to get a referral backdated to today once I do talk to them or I'll have to pay out of pocket for today's treatment. Trust me, I will be finding a new PCP. I have yet to call when the call queue said the wait was less than 30 minutes. This is unacceptable. They need reported to the BBB and any other organization that protects patients and their rights. I will be posting negative reviews everywhere I can. read more

I had a wonderful experience at Good Hope Family Physicians recently, amid a very stressful time for me, with Jessica Hassinger (Medical Assistant) and Lynn Gerlach (CRNP). In the midst of the COVID-19 medical appointment cancellations by most doctors' offices in the region, my surgeon was going ahead with my scheduled hip surgery, as verified with the surgeon's office the day before my required pre-surgery EKG, evaluation, and blood test. In the midst of the EKG, a phone call came in identifying that my surgery was cancelled! I had been in pain and had increasing ambulatory instability, affecting basic life functions. This call was extremely upsetting and I sobbed. Instead of just telling me to leave since the appointment was no longer necessary, Jessica was sympathetic and caring. After a little while, when she saw I still wasn't in control, she notified Lynn Gerlach who was to have evaluated me for surgery after the EKG. Lynn also displayed exceptional compassion and worked to calm me. There were no other patients in the building at that time, but staff was busy with virtual/online care, and Lynn had another patient call beginning in a few minutes. Both women were absolute professionals, but unusually caring. Despite all of us wearing masks, there was still risk for all of us in each face to face contact. Lynn actually hugged me for a few minutes (our masks still on) and that truly helped me. When they left the room a short while later, I was better but still shaken. They told me to take the time I needed to finish calming down. I cannot thank these wonderful people enough for their extraordinary compassion. I felt like was somebody important to them. My husband and I ended up here because our old place recently closed after the doc retired and they sent our records here. What a nightmare! They want to charge us to have our records released to the new provider we want to go to, which sucks, but that is apparently all of Pinnacle Health system's policy. And we were actually willing to stay there just out of sheer laziness. Unfortunately, the front office staff is so APPALLINGLY rude, actually, mostly just one lady, Melissa is her name. If you have ever encountered her, you already know what I mean. Today i went in and saw her interact with several people ahead of me. I can not even IMAGINE that nobody else who works there has never noticed her deplorable customer service, which is why I am taking it out on the entire office and giving them only one star. My husband has had the misfortune of dealing with her several times on the phone and was also treated like crap, like she refuses to even take his name and DOB to look him up before starting to argue with him. She is hateful, smug, demeaning, frowny, as unhelpful as possible, grumpy, and has not a single customer service skill to her name. Oh and also, they charge you an ADDITIONAL fee for any appointment 5pm or later, and for any Saturday appointment. Yes, in addition to the HUNDREDS of dollars they charge your insurance for a simple 10 minute office visit AND the copay you already have to pay, they now tack on an additional fee if you can't take off work to be seen during the weekdays. And when I asked how much that fee is, out of curiosity after listening to Melissa treat an old lady ahead of me like a dirty dog because she didn't know she had to pay an extra fee, Melissa told me "I don't know, we bill your insurance and if they don't pay it, you'll get the bill for the difference". She also told me, "look, the code was already there, we decided we might as well start charging it because everyone else does". When the old lady said she didn't know about it, Melissa said, "well we HAD signs over there (points in general direction of waiting room where there were, in fact, none), there's a sign here, I don't know what else we can do". I would never to talk to anyone, much less an old lady who is also a customer (and who was being polite and asking reasonable questions), the way Melissa talked to her. Because of that awful lady and the ridiculous extra fee, this place gets one star. read more

So my Doc left the practice and I was scheduled with a new doctor in the practice. I went for an annual physical and he told me to sign some paperwork. Little did I know that paperwork was more than that.I went for an annual physical that should be covered by insurance...but the way they swindled me it ended up being an "Office visit" instead of a scheduled physical. So they now stuck me with a bill $140.00 out of pocket instead of s covered annual preventive physical............ read more

This is one of the worst practices I have treated with. They were my family physician for 4 yrs. I have had 6 different physicians assigned to me all had left, each one not leaving my visit notes for the next physician taking over. In four yrs I was seen once by a real doctor the rest were physician assistants. If you want to speak w someone you will be directed to an out of state call center and when you actually Can get hold of someone there they are rude. If you want an appointment be prepared to wait up 3 months atleast and in case of an emergency be prepared for atleast a few day waits. Don't be fooled by their after 5 hours they charge almost double for you to go. Additionally they force you to sign agreements and test for things that you don't want or need if you refuse they refuse care. All around one of the absolute worst practices I've been associated with. For more information I would be more than happy to divulge upon request. I just recently sent a medical authorization for them to release my records and they refused telling my new provider they need to speak with me first!!!!
