According to its website, it provides assessments and treatments for cold, flu, COVID-19, sinus problems, infections, allergies, rashes, migraines, sprains, strains, orthopedic injuries, and more. Days ago, my husband had a bad fall, and he suffered many injuries. He felt concerned about one particular area of his body, so I recommended that he go to an urgent care. He chose this one. He did not complain to me about the employees here. He said that the staff did an x-ray, and their interpretation was that his rib was not fully broken but might be either slightly cracked or bruised. They said that his rib would heal on his own and to take pain medication. The staff also briefly looked at his other injuries and said that he was doing OK and would heal over time.

I had been to two other vein practices before this and had almost given up and thought that I would live with my leg pain forever. Then I found the Vein Institute of Pittsburgh. I had my first appointment with Maria, his sweet and bright nurse practitioner. She ultra sounded my legs and explained everything. Then I began my treatments with Dr. Krysinski. He is such an excellent surgeon...he is kind, he listens and he has worked miracles on my legs!. It is a process, I had a lot going on and my insurance made me space my appointments out some, it will probably take over a year or two to finish but it is worth it. My legs are finally feeling good again. I couldn't be happier. AND my insurance covers the procedures aside from my deductible and copays but just like it is with all of my pcp visits. The other 3 hours were spent waiting in a small exam room. I was running back and forth to the bathroom. They didn't hook me up to an I.V. Of saline solution for about 2 hour. The said I was lucky to get that because there was a shortage. I realize that there might have been sicker people than myself, but the experience was unacceptable. Over the years I have used UPMC Passavant ER a few times and the experience is always the same. From here on out I will use AHN Wexford & I suggest that you do too.

Directions via the My UPMC portal were easy to follow & specific. Staff was friendly & caring. Staff for my procedure went out of way to be kind & helpful. Facility is clean. Waiting area has good system with large screen so you know what step your family member is on during procedures. You have a pager that alerts you when the procedure is complete. As of December 20, 2023 UPMC is back to a mask mandate inside the hospital for winter Covid, flu & RSV season. Our procedures ran on time. This is provided you arrive an hour before your procedure time.
