Your experience may be different if you need more specialized care. I've taken my infant son to different providers throughout San Diego for each of his checkups and it has been so stressful to find one that is a good match for us. My family recently changed health insurance so we had the perfect opportunity to look into recommendations, reviews, etc. to find from a new pool of eligible providers and clinics. I picked this office (and some of the other locations) due to it being heavily recommended on parenting groups on Facebook. The ease of checking our insurance and scheduling an appointment and availability was so easy. I did not have access to MyChart yet since my son is a new patient so I was unable to fill out the questions and provide more information, but no worries, just had to bring my previous paperwork such as immunization records they were asking for anyway. I love this office. It is kid friendly and has a separate waiting area for sick patients. This office is large enough to accommodate a stroller (other offices I went to did not). The other pediatricians we saw still had paper forms/paperwork but I was able to fill out everything via a tablet which was super quick to submit. The care itself was on time, quick, and knowledgeable. I did not feel dumb when asking questions that may seem obvious, routine or silly. I also like that they could provide all the vaccines at the time that were missing at other pediatric offices as well. While I don't want my child to ever be sick, I am happy to take him here for his upcoming routine appointments.

It wasn't clear whether we were forgotten or just not properly checked in. Since you're dealing with little kids who can become restless easily, it's important to be more mindful of wait times. Horrible service, horrible clinic I've never been in a clinic where they are so unprofessional and…read morethey just don't care, Dr. Sanicolas just didn't care she put my mom on a cast which costed $155 and did a horrible job on it, my mom is diabetic and she just didn't care how that cast was made there was stuff sticking out the cast which could hurt my moms leg, she didn't have the rite material to do it to begin, and if she knows that as a doctor she should've have ya come back or go somewhere else to get it rite not just use stuff that would make it fall apart, that cast is literally falling apart, she cut it in half and the inside of it it's falling apart, we went back the next day to have her make another one and she refuse she said she wanted to charge for the visit and to Make another cast, that's not rite, everywhere you go in the U.S If ure not satisfy with something u buy, they'll exchange it or give u the money back, she refuse to give me my money back and refuse to see us, she even said to go with a different doctor, she should care about the patients health and not be so clumsy with her work, she knew we were paying cash so that's all she cared about even thou she didn't had the rite tools at that clinic, someone professional would've said u guys need to come back another day but she just care about the cash we were gonna Pay, I don't think it's fair that I paid $260 with the visit included for shush a horrible job, I'll be inserting pictures of the cast so people think twice before going to this clinic, clinic is dirty they use one same towel to clini everything,after every other patient, the girl at the front desk it's rude and doesn't tell u what's going on, I waited an hour after I put my name down and I had to go up and ask her what was going on, instead of her calling me and telling me that the doctor refuse to see us, made me waste my time . I was referred to Dr. Sundaram by my primary care doctor. Jackie at the front desk was great - she…read morewas able to get me in the same day given the urgency of my case. She checked me in efficiently, and Martin did a battery of thorough peripheral and eyesight exams. Then I saw Dr. Sundaram who was even more thorough and had me take more tests/scans including optic nerve and cornea. She walked me through the results and went over my MRI with me, explaining what they indicated and next steps. She was factual and matter of fact, but also calmed my nerves a bit. The only reason this is a 4 star review and not 5 stars is because I had two appointments (field eye test then the consult), an hour apart. The second time I was 20 minutes early, checked in online then went to the front desk. The girl who helped me had no idea how to check me in and when I told her what Jackie did to check me in, she still looked lost and went and asked for help. Long story short, it somehow took 25 minutes for this to happen so instead of being early I ended up getting seen late. Dr. Sundaram was great and very thorough, and I would recommend her.

I have tried five different doctors with Scripps. The last three at Eastlake. The quality of…read moredoctors and care provide has gone downhill in the last ten years. I thought I would save myself some time by interviewing a doctor to determine if we were a fit. I was bill $600 for talking to a doctor for ten minutes! I asked for blood tests. They would not do the blood tests even though Medicare would have paid. I needed a couple of other testes that Scripps would not order. Guess what! Found a competent doctor that ordered the tests that Scripps would not order, that Medicare paid for, and found the answers I needed to heal an issue that the doctors at Scripps were to incompetent to find! Sharp, here I come! The difference between Scripps and Sharp was so different. I am now a happy Sharp's patient without rogue billing.
