Planned a celebratory event, service was great, room and ambiance was amazing - set the vibe appropriately. A little disappointed with the food though ....some of the food items were great--others just okay. I typically enjoy food here and this was my first time eating food for a large group. Well, we tried to dine there last evening. The young staff has NO CLUE what professional dining work is. We got seated near the only people there at the time, two young mothers with 3 screaming kids! The youngest was actuall screeching to the point we couldn't hear each other! Of course, the extra adjoining dining room was closed due to COVID staff shortages. That's understandable. When we told the waitress that we were leaving due to the noisy acting out kids (parents were at fault for not supervising their children), the dumb waitress questioned US saying "c'mon, they're only children." To which I say "who is the customer here?" We've eaten here many times, but this was nothing short of riduculous! They lost our business!!! read more

Love this place! Comfortable cozy atmosphere. Great place for drinks and appetizers. Husband and I Visited twice on a short 3 day New Years weekend tripp. If you get the classic nachos you don't need an entree. Friendly wait staff! Felt welcome on both of our visits. This place is massive in size, and in menu offerings, but nothing is really "amazing". Our poor server was saddled with two huge tables by himself so we knew it would be a long dinner, but it was three hours from apps to leaving (no desserts). The shrimp starter was a stand out (spicy and different). The nachos are just scary large. I had the perch dinner (baked) and it was fine but the rice served with it was yucky (mushy fake rice pilaf). Drinks are pricy as well. read more

First and foremost the water was great. Cold, crisp and refreshing, there was no chlorine or chemical taste. Clearly filtered. Dirty martini was ok. Buffalo mac n cheese was amazing. Huge portion. Took more than half home with me. I still think the menu is a lot. It is almost hard to figure out what to order because there are too many choices. Our server this time seem to lack confidence and knowledge of the menu. I did notice that this place is incredibly well staffed. In a time where it is common to have a staffing shortage, Uptown does not seem to have that problem at all. I don't know what their secret is but I think I know where all the servers are working these days. For some reason I can never remember what this place is called and I forget about it so when I actually think to go there, I am usually pretty pleased. I was pretty impressed with their California Veggie Burger with an impossible patty. I now know of a place close for a good impossible burger. If you haven't had one yet, I encourage you to try one. It's so close to tasting like a real burger. Sometimes I wonder if they've accidentally given me a real meat patty. Uptown's menu is really quite large. There should be something for almost anyone. I am rating just the food this time. I ordered for carry out the Truffle Mac and stuffed mushrooms. Unfortunately the Truffle Mac was greasy. I could tilt my dish and the oil ran off my plate. It did not have a cheese sauce at all and the meat was tough. I have had this before and maybe last night was a bad night. Also the crab stuffed mushrooms tasted fishy. My husband and I visited this restaurant previously and sat at the bar and had pretty decent service. When we went last night... that wasn't the case. We sat down at 8:05pm. Our waitress came and got our drink and appetizer order. It came out around 8:30pm and then we gave her our food order. After this, we didn't see her again. A different server brought out my husbands side salad that was supposed to be with his meal, but did not bring the food he ordered it with, nor did they bring my food. We continued to wait. By 9pm we still had no food and had to bring it up to our waitress. And although we didn't have food, a couple who sat down 15mins after us were well past their appetizer and finishing their entrees. She went to check and around 10mins later when she sat the food down, we noticed it was off. My husbands chicken was burned- literally, it was black. And they had plopped some sort of sauce on top to try to cover it. The green beans that came with the meal also weren't even ready for some odd reason. My salad had salmon... and although the salmon was warm on top... it was ice cold in the middle. The salmon should not have been cold- the waitress even asked me how I wanted it prepared when she took the order. It was very clear that it had been sitting under a lamp for awhile, and that my husbands food was old and had been re-fired. Our waitress hadn't come back to see how the food was or how we were doing- yet again- so we flagged her down. Once we got ahold of her we voiced our thoughts on the matter. She offered to bring the menu again and put in a new order for us, but that took another 10mins so we opted out. She charged us for our drinks and side salad and we decided to leave. This was a pretty disappointing experience since the first time we went, everything was great! This time, the waitress- Jenny- was nice but she was not attentive to our table specifically at all, even though we saw her working with her other tables and them getting their food and drinks in a timely manner. We chose not to cause a fuss as it was busy, we were really hungry, and really tired at this point. However, after this experience we don't have confidence in this location and will not be back. read more

Looooveed our meal at Uptown! Literally couldn't go wrong with any of it. Started with some drinks - a beer & Moscow mule (delish!). Our first app was the chicken nachos and can I just say !!!!!! This was a wild and amazing experience. They are HUGE. We followed that up with spinach & artichoke dip (my personal fav of the night!), chicken Caesar salad (for, umm, health?), and baked penne w meatballs! A little bit of everything and we enjoyed every bite we could stuff ourselves with, and obviously had plenty of leftovers. Can't wait to go back! read more

They are consistent which is so rare these days. The food gives you the feeling that they care about what they are putting out not only about making money. This place is fun at night when it turns into more of a club. The chipotle chicken ranch and the honey mustard chicken oven toasted sandwiches were good. The side of mac and cheese was cold and also tasted like the microwave kind you can get at a grocery store. The beer from the tap was warm which is very weird. They had half off wine on a Wednesday afternoon which made it only $5/glass for the Rosé I got which was nice. I will give it another try for other menu items. read more

Got the margherita pizza which was alright, but for a thin crust style the pizza had surprisingly thick crust. What a great setup. In addition to a huge bar, outdoor patio, and live music there's a couple of traditional dining rooms for a regular sit-down dinner. Servers and staff were all great. This is my second time here, we dined with a small group of 5. Two of our guests complained later of stomach issues. (suspect) My meal was very tasty, albeit pricey. Great drinks and a great selection of foods to choose from, almost too many options! The service was fantastic. We had a wonderful server. We sat in the patio, the noise level in the restaurant was extremely high. The patio is very nice and has heaters, I highly recommend it. I had a cheese soup, filet bites (small pieces in a sauce with one breadstick - 13.99?) and side of fabulously tasty asparagus. The asparagus was the hit, the side portion was huge. Perfectly cooked. A simple credit to be used at another time would have been fair! I have had a couple of great meals here and a few that have challenged a great review. The restaurant is enormous but they can usually seat most customers in about 20-30 minute wait which, on a Friday evening is respectable. I have enjoyed the back dining room but have also eaten in the covered outdoor seating area as well. They regularly have live music which can be great or just loud, depending on your perspective. Wait staff has been friendly and professional with every visit. I have had several entrees at Uptown, most of which have been good. I wouldn't categorize the food as outstanding but it's better than bar food, but most is pre-prepared like that of a franchise, and not chef-prepared. The dinner salads, e.g. Salmon and Uptown Chop are great. The The Bacon Wrapped Scallops are fine but definitely not award-winning. The bacon slices are enormous and not a grace note but more like a cymbal crash. The accompanying rice pilaf is commercial bulk and not worth tasting. The Classic Nachos came directly from the broiler and looked great, as were the Brussels. The Parmesan Crusted Whitefish really threw me a curveball. The idea behind a Parmesan crust is to allow fresh Parmesan broil together with the fish to form a melt in your mouth flavor which would have been outstanding. Something happened in the kitchen. Maybe they ran out of fresh Parmesan and substituted shaker Parm, which is unacceptable. My fish had this thick blanket of shaker parm dumped on it along with a sprig of something green to try and convince me this was real. The accompanying asparagus was fine, as were the mashed potatoes. That said, we eat at Uptown mostly because it is nearby. It's far better than the Copper Mug and can't touch the Benstein Grille. read more
