Ahoy Mateys!! Well, we finally made it to the infamous pirate restaurant in Madrid. Overall, it's a…read morepretty cool place with a great atmosphere and good food. The restaurant is huge with an inclosed terrace (not heated), a large bar area with a stage and entertainment area, and a two-story dinning area (mucho tables). The entire place feels like a pirate ship with an interior mainly comprised of wood planks and nautical themed items all around. The staff is friendly and helpful. The service is fast and thorough. When you reserve a table, you reserve a timeslot, so they ensure you have enough time to enjoy yourself before your timeslot ends. The menu is vast. We enjoyed two large burgers and two large chicken burgers. Large is an understatement. More like gigantic! Before your meal you are treated with an on-the-house pate. After your meal you're similarly treated with an on-the-house shot (multiple flavors, some with and some without alcohol). One caution: if you're like me and don't like stinky cheese, or as I call it, foot cheese, be sure to ask for the chicken burger without it. Additionally, we had two desserts, blueberry cheesecake and the white chocolate lemon cake. Both delicious and both served with homemade whipped cream. One other thing, they don't have it on the menu but they also offer small servings of gelato. Overall, the meal cost €70 plus the €20 for the reservation (€5 per person). The atmosphere is one of a kind and the food is good. Enjoy.

I thought that was nice since we were able to still enjoy their food despite us not having a reservation at Carmencita. The salmon egg Benedict was okay. The bread was really crunchy and it made cutting through it a little difficult. Salmon was a little salty. The egg and the Hollandaise sauce was cooked perfect. Hash browns has a little onion taste to it. The French toast was overwhelming for me since there was so much syrup and cinnamon topped on there. The eggs was scrambled nicely. Bacon was delicious. Coffee was good, according to the boyfriend. Mimosa was good! (Get that if you go) The staff was good. I would come back.

Sunday morning brunch, and the place was full by 1230. I got the American breakfast and my wife the huevos rancheros -- she got the better meal. American bfast came w/ a sausage I wasn't too fond of -- off taste for me. However, the bacon was crispy and the potato cakes nice and crunchy on the outside.
