Yummy Yummy Sushi Burrito - IG @bougiefoodieboi
    Kyle W.

I ordered through Grubhub to use my monthly $10 credits and this place has sushi burritos which I have not tried in a long time. I got the shrimp tempura one (Yummy Yummy Sushi Burrito) which was of decent size but close to $20 which is steep. It came with spicy mayo which makes for a varied flavor profile but I opted to not dip the spicy mayo for most of the burrito. I like the imitation crab in the burrito but I am not a fan of the lettuce which slightly ruined the whole flavor profile of the burrito

Great Service. Tried the Seahawks & Roll, very good. Highly recommend stopping by Urban!

    Spider roll, chicken karaage

Delicious sushi (I got the spider roll), the chicken karaage was pretty good too. Definitely a must try!

End of January, I won the $50 grand prize from Foods by Sachi and Urban Sushi Kitchen. Finally, I was able to stop in (2/19/24).

I learned that I had won an IG prize to Urban Sushi Kitchen. I had to make the effort to stop by during the weekdays since they are closed on weekends. I finally located Urban Sushi Kitchen in the Denny Triangle /South Lake Union area on 2/19/24. I was able to find free parking due to the Presidents Day holiday. It is located around the corner from the US Courthouse and across the street from a Seattle Police precinct. I liked the clean, modern streamlined interior with lots of natural light and ample onsite seating. I showed the helpful counter person screenshots to claim my IG prize. There was no gift card available, so I had to literally redeem and dine onsite. I ended up selecting chicken karaage, a custom roll, and a beef teriyaki bento box to claim the prize value. I paid extra to try their hotate and hamachi nigiri. The food was brought out shortly afterwards - nicely prepared, generous, and tasty. The menu prices reflect the location, but it was nice to end up with so much leftovers, that the contents filled an entire compartmentalized takeout container! I was pleasantly surprised with my first visit. Thank you for the generosity from @foodsbysachi and Urban Sushi Kitchen.

    Chicken Katsu Bento ($22)

Casual sushi spot located in downtown South Lake Union. Order at counter, get number, and have it brought to you (they are quick!) Spicy Tuna Sushi Burrito ($18) was not aesthetic at all, looked small, and was overpriced (perhaps the high prices are due to location). The filling looked like weird gray mush and I never like the look of pale iceberg lettuce anywhere near my sushi. However, all this aside, it tasted great and was pretty filling. BF got the chicken katsu bento ($22) which had lots of components and looked awesome.

The food was amazing and the perfect temperature. The unagi was savory, phenomenal presentation of each dish. The staff was incredibly kind and made sure we had everything we needed. The environment was welcoming and it was a great place to eat dinner with friends

Caterpillar Roll and Iced Green Tea

Food - sushi was pretty good! I liked my caterpillar roll and it tasted fresh. The Inari was my favorite - very well formed and flavored, and the tamago was just ok. They have several bottled drinks, including Ito En green tea which I love. They have several options including bentos, rolls, maki, sashimi and nigiri, sushi burritos, and a few more sides. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options! Service - they were very kind and greeted me when I arrived and thanked me when I left. They brought items out to me as ready and took my empty plates in between. They were very polite and attentive. Ambiance - I liked this spot for a quick lunch or snack. It was well lit and clean, and I enjoyed the little window bar seating facing the street. Great cozy spot for a light meal on a rainy day.

This was at 12:30PM and there was a long line out the door and around the corner, taking almost 30 minutes. I had previously visited on a rainy winter weekday for lunch and there wasn't a line at all. What a difference the day and weather can make! While in line we could see the chefs cutting up ahi fresh right in front. The longer line gave me time to chat with the owner as he was trimming off the skin and other bits. I learned that tuna skin is much tougher than salmon skin so can't be eaten like salmon skin chips. He also said that the trimmed parts can be taken for free if anyone wants them. Apparently they make good crab bait! Medium w/ Rice, Traditional Limu Ahi, Hamachi, Mac Salad ($21.50) - I love the Hamachi poke mix. It's fresh, tender, and buttery fish tossed in a creamy and slightly spicy sauce, filled with little briny pearls and plenty of aromatics giving a super umami bite. The Limu Ahi is very fresh as well - I mean, it's sliced right in front, and there's so much turnover of the food that's it's pretty much guaranteed fresh. The tuna is fresh and tender, but there's noticeably more sinew compared to the hamachi. The Mac Salad is also really good. It's super creamy and the macaroni isn't overcooked so it still has some bite. The rice is unfortunately the weakest item in the bowl. It's a little too dry for my tastes and is only lightly tossed with rice vinegar, giving a tangy flavor. Overall all the poke is fresh, the flavors all meld together into a delightful balanced bite, and the sauces are not overwhelming. Ono Poke definitely serves some great poke! They share parking spots with the rest of the plaza and it's not difficult to find a spot if you're willing to walk just a few extra feet. Went for an oddly timed meal on a Saturday around 4PM and they still had all their poke options. There are about 6-8 tables in the store, but quite a few folks take their meals to go. It's definitely not the cheapest meal option, but the poke is absolutely delicious and the fish is unbelievably fresh I tried the Shoyu Salmon, Spicy Tuna, and the Hamachi; all of them were incredible. The Hamachi is only available on weekends and the fish is so fatty it almost melts in your mouth with the creamy and tangy sauce. The Shoyu Salmon is incredibly succulent and just a classic knocked out of the park with a great balance of fresh, salty, and slightly sweet. I'm normally a tuna hater, but the texture is excellent with a nice bite and great spice level.

I agree with another reviewer (I had the seared salmon bowl when I first went) and I loved it - but I am a minority because I know the quality of the salmon was super high and I don't require a lot of sauce to enjoy it. But every time I get the mixed chirashi sushi donburi, it is just "beyond expectations." I have now gone almost a dozen times, and it feels like a treat to bring people there - Georgetown in itself is a bit of a surprise, parking is tricky but there is parking lot and the hours are great (I think till 9:00 daily) and the people and service are wonderful. My friend who speaks Japanese talked to the owner and he started this restaurant in Japan and brought it to the Seattle area about 5 years ago. It feels totally authentic, Japanese owned and run, and the quality is consistent every time.

The taste was unfortunately very bland, no significant sear in the salmon, and the soy sauce didn't add anything memorable to the bowl. The Una-Gyu Don wasn't bad, but the broiled eel with sukiyaki just wasn't special enough to make you crave it again. The location has a parking lot next door at least. Internally the dining space is narrow and fills up quickly at opening times in the weekend. Order at the counter or kiosk, and they'll deliver the food to your table, which you bus yourself at the end.

There are no bells and whistles here, just excellent service, fair prices, and fantastic food. There are only a handful of tables, which is really meant for solo diners and two people at best. There is a handful of takeout patrons at any given time, but that's only because of the wait. It's far more enticing to sit in and experience the magic that exists in every bowl. Water is self-serve and thankfully presented in a filtered water tank that spits out cold, delicious water. A majority of the bowls are between $13-16 each, which in today's foodflation economy seems expected. The good news is that the portion is substantial in every bowl. My go-to is their chirashi, which is roughly $19 but features a nice array of fish cuts that include salmon, chopped fatty tuna, masago, fresh water eel, shrimp with albacore and another dose of tuna. The unagi don is their most expensive bowl at nearly $21, but the broiled unagi with the eel sauce that is dynamite. The textures, the sweetness, and the size is all on point. And due to its status as a teriyaki city, I think the chicken teri don is an excellent alternative to all the seafood. The teriyaki hits all the right flavor notes, with just enough sweetness with the tenderness of the chicken meat. Add in another $1 and it's a spicy version. I so wish there was something like this in my neck of the woods. If I lived in Seattle, this would be a weekly destination. I'm already looking forward to my next visit(s).
