I've had a fantastic experience with US Digestive Health in Wilmington, DE! My televisit with Dr. Emily Ankron exceeded my hopes for acquiring the testing I wanted. She was patient and thorough, with a wonderful sympathetic demeanor. I also found the staff in the DE office to be helpful and responsive! In particular, Diana Burns was awesome! Make sure they hear you when you tell them about your issues up front. I told them I have a paralyzed vocal cord and severe LPR Silent Reflux. They still did the endoscopy at this outpatient facility and I almost died. Just pure negligence on their part. They should have sent me to a hospital. They called the ambulance when I couldn't breathe after I woke up and now I get a ambulance bill for $1,000. WOW, just great after I almost died and now I wake up fearing I can't breathe and am going to die. Afterwards they tell me I can only have procedures done in a hospital setting. Why didn't they suggest that after I told both the doctor and anesthesiologist my issues before the endoscopy. Just a nightmare. read more

My visit was at the Downingtown/Exton office. Total negligence. Ordered a procedure & 16 days later still waiting for Dr. 'S Office to submit pre-auth. Terrible, terrible experience. Don't feel Dr. Gordon listened to me or even cared. Then they tell you to not get upset. How about they live with this pain & shitting their pants & someone treat them this way? This is the worst doctors office I have ever been to. They unnecessarily took out my gallbladder and told me nothing of my options other than surgery and nothing of the fact 40 percent of people don't have any resolve and are often worse after. You must wait months to see a doctor or see a different PA every time. So there is no care. It's like an assembly line. No one cares. They should be shut down for what they do to patients. Its all about doing procedures and surgeries. Not caring for people. read more

Dr. Urbas was fantastic while I was hospitalized. I called to follow up and make an appointment with him in Malvern, and a member of the office staff literally told me to buzz off and there were no appointments available. Rudely contradicting every avenue I mentioned kindly to figure out a way to make it happen, I eventually gave up on the conversation and let her know I would try the hospital communication channels. When I thanked her for the attempt and wished her a wonderful day, she hung up the phone on me mid-sentence. So classy, haha. Everyone has bad days, but there is no reason to turn a positive experience with one of your doctors into something terrible just trying to make an appointment. US Digestive Health Malvern, PA sent me an e-mail informing me that my CT scan results were ready and sent me a portal link. The link did not work. I called them. NO ONE picks up the phone. NO ONE returns voice mail messages. The only way to talk to someone is to dial #7 to talk to a nurse. They kept sending me the same link to the Patient Portal however the portal was not running. I told them the portal was not working and they kept sending me the portal link again & again. Today, 9 days after my after my test, I drove 30 miles to pick up the my report. These so called medical professionals are terrible. They don't have a clue how to deal with the public and obviously DO NOT CARE. read more

Doctor Brooks is good however the practice is full of rude, snappy, unprofessional and extremely unpleasant people. Making an appointment is impossible, they never return your calls and when they do they are rude and pushy and if you tell them you are in a funeral they keep calling and calling!!! awful service read more

This is one of the worst offices I've been to. I have several chronic health issues and was referred by my endocrinologist to see a GI Doc. I initially saw Gabriella, a PA who rushed my appointment (that I waited months to get) and gave me advice like "avoid using straws" and scheduled me for an endoscopy and colonoscopy. I was originally scheduled in December to have this done and they scheduled my procedure at 12 noon. Since I have Type 1 Diabetes, I cannot fast that long and the endoscopy center could not accommodate an earlier time. US Digestive Health was supposed to indicate my condition so that they could schedule appropriately and failed to do so. I waited from December to February to finally get my procedure and when I requested a follow up appointment, they could not get me in with the provider until JUNE! June would be a year of dealing with this practice and still no answers and still have not seen the actual dr. 0/10 read more

Calling is absolutely useless unless you have an hour or more to wait on hold. No matter when you call you'll get that "we're experiencing unusual call volume." Their call system is totally dysfunctional. After waiting a full hour on hold I drove to the Fern Hill Rd office. There were three staff members sitting behind the desk of which one was helping a patient. The other two were chatting, but one immediately helped me when I approached the counter. I checked my phone and as I left it on and it was now 1 hr. and 15 mins on hold so driving in made sense! The calls go to a central number which is a flawed system. they should go to the local office first and then to a central number if the office staff are already helping other customers. I have NEVER received a timely call back by leaving a message which is why I drove in to the office. US Digestive Health seems to have a near monopoly in the area which is what allows them to provide such poor communication! read more

I had 3 procedures done in Febuary. It's now June and no one has told me the results of my tests. had a bioptsy, I hope it was as negative. only department that is consistent is billing. Never again. Go find an office that will treat you like a patient read more

They charge me $960 for my colonoscopy even though it was covered by my insurance. Sent. Me a bill and I paid them and after I called and complained they said it would take 4 to 6 weeks to give me my money back. We shall see. This amount of time is unacceptable and unprofessional read more

Nurse was rude and spoke to my daughter in a demeaning way. Told her to tell the truth. My daughter is 20! Also lied to my daughter and said I never called her (nurse) back. SHE never called me back! Her manners are atrocious. Nasty person! She was very flip when I first spoke to her. read more

Actually really like Dr. Whitebloom but the practice is a disaster. They dropped my insurance in between my initial visit (covered) and the procedure (no longer covered) without notifying me. Imagine my surprise when I was on the hook for the full procedure! They ended up renegotiating with the carrier but it took over 60 days and hours of phone calls to get it rectified. Really hard to reach anyone with authority in customer service- had to actually show up at the practice to speak with someone to sort it out. read more

Worst doctors and practice I've ever been to. My last visit when I told the doctor I was having issues with my disease, his response was "no you don't ". When I told him that his office sent me for testing and it was positive, I'm guessing this was the first time he actually looked at my chart. And he was on his phone the whole time (even answered a spam call). Recently had colonoscopy done at Broomall location US digestive Health. The doctor Dr Herdman is absolutely knowledgeable, skillful, and caring. The nursing staff and front desk folks are all wonderful. I was a bit scared since it's my first time. They took the time to explain, comfort me. And the whole procedure is smooth. I like the Doctors there, but I have found that trying to make an appointment is VERY difficult. I've gotten to the point that I go to the Malvern Office an make it in-person. However that isn't the worst part. They sent a bill which is incorrect. I have Medicare and a supplement that pays the balance. On the statement it has an incorrect supplemental insurance company that understandably refused to pay. I set the bill back noting the error and giving them the correct supplemental insurance company. The next month the same bill. I called them and explained. The following month the same bill with the wrong insurance company. I have tried three times to straighten this out, so I have resorted to posting the problem on review sites. Maybe then it will get noticed. read more

Malvern office After three frustrating days of trying to make an appointment both on the phone and the computer you have to call the office that you get nowhere. You get a call back to be put on hold again and again and again the doctors think only their time is important. Maybe they should try to call the office to make an appointment to see what the customers are going through the girls answering the phone are rude. They're probably over paid and they don't wanna put up with anything so they hang up on you. They won't transfer you to an office manager they just hang up. read more

US Digestive Health does their absolute best to avoid speaking to their clients. They guard phone numbers for the local office as if it were top-secret, and funnel all calls back to their main corporate office, where clients get stuck in automated phone system hell. They definitely do not want to speak to you and it shows. read more

The worst gastroenterologist practice ever. You have to wait months to get an appointment, or colonoscopy. You have to wait months for them to schedule you for an infusion. If you are sick, find someone else. They need to hire more people who have more empathy for their patients who are sick. Don't go there. They refused to give me the name of my doctors nurse who is in charge of my care. I call every day and they keep telling me the same thing, that they will call me back. I have never received a call back. Will definitely be finding a new practice. read more

The doc and staff were fine, but you just can't get through to them at any of their offices. You just get their general number and then wait hours, or days, or in one case, never(!) to hear back from them. Not worth it no matter how nice the doctors are. We changed practices. read more

Up until a couple of years ago, this was called Hillmont G.I., and this was not the first name change that the practice underwent. In my view, this decision to change the name nearly every year is rooted in a desire on their part to shake off a bad reputation that was well-earned. I went here for a consultation after having a series of frustrating experiences with other G.I. doctors. at other practices and was frankly tires of driving to increasingly remote locations and, under pressure from my GP, decided to give this practice a try despite being warned not to do so by others who had been here. I went here at the very end of 2019 and was not even seen by an MD, but was permanently assigned to an NP that they had at the location. I had just 14 months prior had a colonoscopy done at a different practice entirely (I wasn't exactly happy with them either) and gave this practice my records. I was trying to determine why I was experiencing colitis as it was quite debilitating. Where the other practice I had been to was merely rude to me (accused me of not doing the prep for the colonoscopy properly and became even more rude when I stormed out of the building somewhat prematurely after the procedure) and I thought these places couldn't get any worse, this practice has to take the cake as the single worst place you could go for colon and liver issues. As I said, I had just recently had a colonoscopy done and I was not interested in having another done so soon, especially if they are going to declare the test inconclusive. This NP ordered up about $10k in tests including genetic tests which came back suggesting that I, in fact, had Crohn's Disease. I found out that Humira can help with this condition and when they called with my test results; which I had already helped myself to online; they refused to give me Humira. At this point, their RN there told me that despite my positive test for Crohn's, if I would not agree to let them bill Medicaid for another repeated and unnecessary colonoscopy, she would be withholding the Humira. As egregious as Hillmont G.I. putting the defrauding of an insurance company ahead of patient welfare is, it is not the end of the story. I was scheduled for a so-called "FibroScan" which is actually a non-invasive and equally useful alternative to a liver biopsy that, for some reason, Medicaid doesn't cover entirely despite it being cheaper by far (for them) than the traditional liver biopsy. There was an unexpected $32 co-pay which, due to my joblessness, I did not have one dollar to pay. Although I was outraged by this NP's refusal to give me a script for the Humira, I wanted to know if I had cirrhosis. After learning from the cover letter sent with the new patient paperwork for their Flourtown location (where the FibroScan would be done) of this additional cost, I realized that I had no choice but to cancel what I felt was a medically important test. When I called to cancel the test, the receptionist clearly didn't want me doing that (because people cancelling costs them $$$) and pried for an explanation for why I was cancelling. I explained that I could not afford the unexpected $32 fee and that I was not supposed to have any co-pays on Medicaid anyway. At that point, the woman on the phone, instead of helping me to find a way to get Medicaid to pick up the $32 co-pay, suggested that I let them do the procedure, not pay them, and let the bill go into collections. Clearly, they didn't care about my credit score or my health. It sounded to me like she was trying first and foremost to shield her bosses from liability. I had to repeat myself three times before she would cancel the FibroScan and then called separarely to cancel both the scheduled colonoscopy and follow-up, both of which were booked without asking me if I agreed to it in the first place. Do not waste your time with anything in this entire area. The nearest competent doctors to this area are about 50 miles away. read more

The front office staff, doctors, etc. all at the office are great but the phone system and actually getting in touch with someone is HORRIBLE. Unless your job doesn't impact you getting random calls during the day there is no other way to get in touch with someone. You wait on the phone only to find out your 50 people deep in the queue so you're forced to request a call back but you have no idea when that will be..... of course it always seems to be right in the middle of another call or meeting I have for work..... fantastic. Also, I've left numerous messages trying to get results back on my quest diagnostics but can't get anyone. read more
