I came here a couple times and out of all the post offices I have been to in my life, this one seems to be the most helpful. Everyone here is patient and friendly. I had to get a couple packages out across the county and the lady helped me weigh my option whether going flat rate was cheaper or by pay by weight. The line never seems to be too long. read more

The staff here are generally cold, and matter of fact to the point of being rude. I have been here several times now and always feel unwelcome. The lines are long and this is, no doubt, exacerbated by the tardy staff. I can't recommend this post office at all! read more

Rude & unhelpful. These employees should be ashamed of themselves. Depending on who rings you up, they flip flop their policy on shipping. Inconsistent at best. If I could give this post office negative stars, I definitely would. They are unexperienced and nothing but a bunch of idiots working there. They know nothing about their job and divert everyone to the post office on Delaware St to do their job for them. I went in there to pick up a certified letter and the letter wasn't even addressed to me! The address wasn't even mine but they assumed that because I had the same last name, that it was me. They're nothing but a bunch of uneducated people that need to learn how to read because they can't read English. This office should just be shut down because it's a waste of space in Foster City. Obviously the manager is not experience to know how to run this place. If you see a line out the door and onto the street, you OPEN up another window!! I ordered a very nice ring for my mother engraved with birthstones of all her grandkids. She had a mother's ring my father gave her years ago. He recently passed and her ring broke. The company sent it to fed ex then to usps. The post office messed up delivering it to me. Then I moved apartments and put in a request to get everything forwarded to my new address. I still haven't received the ring. I've called many times only to get a rude lady who gives me the run around. I've left message for the supervisor of course no call I'm not important. Why no one can garentee anything about this ring? I had to reorder the ring which will take another 3 to 4 weeks! The only helpful person is the mail guy who came to my door asking about the ring. I don't appeiciate being treated with no care! You need to change the way you do business! I see a lot of unhappy reviews! read more

This is the most unfriendly post office I have ever been too. The employees are very mean, esp the ladies. The only person that's even a little approachable is a gentleman that works here. If you're new to the post office system it takes some time to understand what's needed to be done. I got yelled at for not picking the right envelop to mail (How am I suppose to know which envelop to use without any explaining?) Besides isn't it their JOB to assist people who do not know what they're doing? Once when I went there one of the employees was yelling on top of her voice to this old lady who did not understand what she needed to do. The Foster City PO is very efficient and fast, no problem at this office. The problem is the postal delivery person that delivers in the Boothbay area in Foster City screws up the deliveries so bad its getting fustrating. Most day either I, my neighbors have to re-deliver the mails she delivers, meaning everyone gets someone else's mails. At first, I gave her time to get to know the street, but by now she would know not to deliver the mail that belongs down the street, with a different street name. We called the Delaware and FC offices to be aware of the facts of this certain postal woman, they don't answer their phones, when its posted on yelp they open until 5:00pm. So fustrating don't know where to take my complains to. They don't answer their phones, so how can we complain about the lousy services to a supervisor that is supposed to be there for the public but is not. read more

I wish I could give this negative stars. There is no drive up place to drop off mail. The staff is very rude and would rather conversate with one another than the customers. The post office seems unfinished, like they just kind of tossed things inside and said here boom a post office. Foster City did not have a post office for almost a year, and the space is still empty where the old one used to be. But then again, our tax dollars are always wasted!! Not Bad. The FC post office is a pretty decent post office in my opinion. Maybe I just always come at the right time, but it's usually empty and has short lines...there are also available mailboxes and machines for quick drop offs. It's clean and centrally located in the city. It is very small though, and the workers could be a little friendlier...but hey, it's a post office, ya know? This post office sucks! I sent out a priority mail medium flat rate box on 3/16 Wednesday at this post office. The package was going to a LA address to my brother, and I used my Foster City home address as the return address on the package. The person who helped me at the Post Office checked the box and the address before she printed out the label for the package. I paid $10.95 for sending the package and left the post office with my receipt. On 3/21 Monday, the postal delivery woman delivered the same package back to my place in Foster City. I looked at the package but didn't see any messages on it, so I asked the delivery woman why the package was returned to me. She examined the package and read the delivery address and return address, and she told me the post office might have made a mistake by mixing up the delivery address and return address, so she can take this package back, and they will deliver this package to the LA address. On 3/30 Wednesday, my brother informed me that he has not received the package. I tried to contact the post office about my package, and they told me they don't know what happened to it. They told me that I need to wait for 14 days to report the lost package, and since I didn't purchase insurance and delivery confirmation, and I don't have a tracking number for the package, they might not be able to help me with anything. If you want to send out a package or a mail from this office, please make sure you purchase insurance or delivery confirmation! read more

Been coming here for years. Small local post office. I enjoy using the self shipping kiosk. Try not to go during peak times because it can get a bit busy. Staff is friendly and always willing to help out. read more

I like the FC post office better than the Main branch on Delaware, and the one in downtown San Mateo.

If you hand over an envelope to a clerk in this post office, dont expect it to be delivered on the other end, IT WILL GET LOST. I had my worst experiences here. I went into the office and handed an envelope to the clerk ,and it has not reached its destination. I called this post office and the phone NEVER got picked up. I walk into the postt office and asked the clerk .. to my astonishment he says "USPS mail will and can GET LOST .. sorry about it. " - What the F*** Folks.. It was really disappointing to have made a long trip from a neighboring city (since the post office there also gave me frustrating grief) and still not get what I needed done. The employees had NO knowledge whatsoever that international shipping has a tracking option; this detail was extremely important for what I needed. In addition to not fulfilling my request, the employees were also very rude. This is the reason people are using other methods of mailing packages out. They sat and tried to argue with me about Priority mail flat rate, they, including the manager kept telling me that it is by weight, so I kept telling them both of them helped me and both of them never charged me by weight, they have always charged the priority package rage of $5.60 as they continue to argue with me I told them I have receipts and they continued to refer to me as a liar. During this time a person come in and ask to mail something out and the employee says it will be $1.30 for a receipt, really, going to charge for a receipt, what next. Again this is why they are going bankrupt and why companies like FedeX and UPS are taking over. Customer service is key, along with knowing what your doing and not giving attitude about it. These people need to retire or put them back out delivering mail. All our mail men/women that have come to our house over the many years have been friendly, knowledgeable and you can tell they like their jobs.. I wish I can give NO STAR but cant read more

If I could give a zero, I would have happily given it. Went to pick up a package that was supposed to be sent back to the sender on 23rd May and they sent it on 17th May.. First notice( which I had never received) was apparently left on 7th May and they say they keep it for 15 days after that, how does that add up? I have been dealing with the US Postal Service for some time as a PO Box user. This is one of the best locations which I have ever used They are friendly and extremely helpful - going beyond their normal job. There should be more US Postal offices like this one. read more

I sent some goodies to my friend in Hawaii on a Tuesday afternoon and to my surprise , they received it Thursday. I was pleased how fast they delivered it. I always go to the one in Shell post office since it's close to my house. Never had any problem with the employees. read more
