A neighborhood post office. This one offers passport services which is nice. When I utilized it, it only took about 2 weeks, of course that was before the passport was required for most things. They also have a postal machine that you can mail packages on. This is handy unless you want to mail media mail. The machine doesn't do that and you have to then wait in line with everyone else to mail those. The machine also sells stamps if you need some of those. There are frequently long lines and I avoid Mondays and days after a holiday if at all possible. I'm sure I'll be back. read more

On top of only having 1 person at the customer window on all of my half dozen visits over the last year, it's always been the same employee. This employee is sooooo slow. Incredibly slow even for postal standards. They move slow, work slow, talk slow just slow! The workers here are very nice and know most regulars by name but still sooooo slow. Typical wait for service is a min of 15 minutes. Update: Went here again within a week of my last visit and the line was out the door. I have experienced waits at this post office exceeding 20 minutes. Yes, they are busy, however that doesn't mean the actual workers have to work so slow. The employees are the slowest moving people I have EVER seen. There is absolutely no sense or urgency even when the line is out the door. I sometimes don't know how people have jobs but after multiple bad experiences it is no surprise the postal service is failing. The employees here certainly have the hourly wage thing figured out. I lived in the neighborhood only ten blocks or so down the road. Some perspective on this as a person using multiple POs over the years... This is the least efficient one I have ever seen. One of my best friends is a post office peon, or was for about ten years, and he has made knowing comments about this location. Not terrible service inter-personal wise. Terrible slow service for you know like delivering like the mail? Expect it to take three to four days for a 2-day priority, expect it to sort for a day and then take six plus hours to get to the target, which is so close I could have walked to the PO in ten minutes. It's the post office. They deliver mail. They aren't really fast. And this one is no different. I would say the lines here are about what I see at other post offices. I have a PO Box here, and it works well. The mail is available for pick up at 9:30, and I have yet to find this not to be the case. Stamp machine is convenient. Mine have cute pictures of ZIppy from the 70s. This is better than most, however, in regards to parking. Most post offices offer little parking compared to the traffic they get at the post office. I have yet to run in at a time, day or evening, where the parking lot is full. So, well designed. I like getting my mail. And this place does just that. read more

I had one of the best customer service experiences I've had at this post office today. I screwed up and printed some labels with today's date on them but I wasn't able to get to the post office to ship; there's something funky with international labels with insurance and the website is giving me the runaround when I try for a refund, so I call the post office. Mark answers, and I figure they're still open. We chat, he tells me they're closed, I explain my predicament. He asks me how quickly I can get there because the truck leaves in 30 minutes. I say that I don't have the materials & I don't know how to package the forms. No problem, he says - he gets the flat rate boxes I need & the bags for the customs forms and meets me in the lobby and runs me through the process. I pack my boxes and he comes out a bit after the truck was supposed to leave to get my packages on it. He went so far above and beyond what I expected - at most, I was hoping for a little help on getting the refund processed. Mark came through. That's the kind of ownership I'd like to see in anyone I hire who is customer-facing, ever. read more

I came here after hours (which means after 5pm) to drop off a box onto which I've already put metered Priority Mail postage. I was expecting to put a couple Priority Mail stickers on it, but the shipping supplies and form areas were a total mess and not stocked. (I uploaded a couple of photos.) The message to me was, "Get the **** out of here. We really don't care if you send something with us or not." I gave this location a second star, though, because the handle for the package chute is not broken and falling off like it is at the SE 7th Ave branch. read more

The best post office ever! Open 24 hrs! Clean location! Nice & patient front desk agent who takes her time with each person to provide excellent customer service! Previous reviews don't appreciate quality. To them Life is fast there is no room for the elderly or the handicapped. Go to the FedEx in Beaverton, also open 24 hrs, they have unfriendly cold service, young folk there are fast, they get annoyed "roll their eyes" with old folk & the thousand questions. I don't know what post office Carmen O. is talking about. 24 hours?? They listed their hours as 8:30-5 mon to fri. closed weekends. My boyfriend had been waiting for a package to arrive, and never received it. Called this post office to see if they were holding it. After being kept on hold for a really long time, they picked up and said they looked all over the place and it wasn't there. Could have been sent back, but they weren't sure. The sender said they haven't received it back. So my boyfriend drove to that post office. While he was standing there, the person he talked to looked for the package. Said they had it. My boyfriend asked if it was difficult to find, and the guy at the post office said nope, it was sitting on the table. Interesting. read more

I will agree with most of the negative reviews here; Over the last 6 years living in this area there seems to always be a long wait of at least 15 to 20 minutes each time I've had to go in, so I avoid USPS when ever possible. I can drop off a package at most any FedEx in less than 5 minutes wait time pretty much every time, so I do not know why anyone would ship packaged through USPS? I am pretty sure they are not any cheaper, but if they were a little less it's really not worth the hassle. On the plus side this post office has consistently been a nice, clean, and attractive post office compared to any others I have seen, which has always had accessible parking, which is not the norm. As to their delivery service each day: just last night I got only my neighbors mail, so I have no idea where our mail went to, but for the most part their delivery has been reliable, if not punctual. Their delivery time commonly varied within a couple hours between 4PM to as late as 6:30 at night, so that can be frustrating. read more

This review is for the Post Office Branch located at: Multnomah Post Office 7805 SW 40th Ave (at SW Multnomah Blvd) Portland, OR 97219-1643 I have never been to New Pine Creek!!! Someone inside Yelp changed this review to the wrong post office. I can assure you I am not going to drive to the California border from Portland to mail a letter........ I give them 5 stars for the self serve mailing area that is open 24 hours. This is basically a nice suburban neighborhood where I feel safe going here at night to mail letters and packages using the self serve kiosk. There can be a shortage of supplies in the main lobby at night - so if you know you are going to need supplies like priority mailing envelopes, go to the post office during main business hours, skirt past the line of people waiting to mail things and grab what you need in the inner lobby that is only open during the hours that the workers are there to do your mailing. Then come back after hours to use the Kiosk when there is no wait. I give them 3 stars for using the main lobby during office hours and getting assistance fro the workers. There is almost always a line - especially near closing time and it moves very slowly. The workers however are patient and know their stuff and as long as you enter before closing time, they will stay as late as need to finish up everyone in line. read more

Usually only one or two clerks at the counter and a line of customers. To avoid the long lines and on Saturdays, try the US Postal Center at Lamb's Thriftway , 7410 SW Oleson Rd. The Tigard Post Office is open Saturdays also and usually has more clerks on duty. read more

The slowest, most ridulously poor service on the planet. A true Portlandia experience. One guy at the window. Counted 6 people in line. While I was there 2 left; not an uncommon thing here. The passivity, detachment and apathy is not seen in any private sector business. There is one exception: the Asian-American staff member who was at the window was efficient and pleasant. I asked if he could get more help given the line and he said he could not. I do not believe this is an under staffing problem. There seems to be a slowness and passivity that is hard to take. The manager (lady with red hair), disgruntled and not to be impacted by the waiting public. read more

I prefer Multnomah Station for my postal business over other p.o. stations around town because it's close to my apartment and I have never had to deal with a surly employee at the counter. Went in to use the machine in the lobby that lets you weigh your package, then purchase pre-paid label, and put it in the package bin. I was pretty annoyed that the machine offered only two options, from PDX to SFO; Priority Mail or 2 day overnight. Both were the same high price, three-quarters the price of the item I was mailing. Parcel Post was not on the list of options, like it used to be. It would be fine with me if it took two weeks to get there, but the machine didn't offer a less immediate choice. I use the machines because the lines are too long, and now the machines offer only the highest prices. This experience convinced me to skip the US Postal Service and stick with internet purchases from now on; I can't afford to "shop local" if I can't mail my purchases to family and friends for a reasonable price. read more

I am so angry at the post office! I am getting no answers and post offices are blaming it on other post offices no one is taking responsibility, that about 40 of my Christmas cards were delivered chewed up and damaged, missing parts of the envelope, Christmas letter, and or card!! no sympathy for there error what so ever!!! It cost a lot of money, time and effort to send those out. I only got out of them that it must have been there sorter machine, NO YOU ARE NOT DOING YOUR JOB!!!!!! Ok this post office is so awful. They never, ever have the priority shipping supplies so I can just go about my business.. As I would hate to stand in the long line for the one person who is at the counter working.. Not to mention 3 other employees dinking around back and forth from the counter. Heaven forbid that someone else open up and start helping the line.. I literally live a mile away but now just drive to the downtown location because its stocked and they regularly have more people working. This post office blows.. I'm not one to write reviews - but I agree with the other posters that this post office has THE SLOWEST WORKING PEOPLE EVER! Every time I go in there is a line and maybe 2 people working the counter. Today was no different. Line out the door and ONE man working the counter and moving like just took sleeping pills. Terrible, just terrible. With a 2 year old in tow we waited 20 minutes to move up the line 3 people and still had about 10 in front of us. I gave in and left as did several others in line. Maybe they are understaffed, but the staff they do have operate like Eeyore. They aren't mean people, just SLOW. And unfortunatley I can't just go to another PO b/c they are holding a package for postage due (.97) for me. Sigh. Will try again tomorrow. read more

It's been a couple years since some negative posts were written regarding the Post Office here in Multnomah village, so I just anted to chime in and say that things now are actually really great there now. There is a man and woman clearly that I have dealt with both of them on multiple occasions and they are just as sweet and kind as anyone could be. I always bring my kids and waiting in line is not that fun for them but the clerks always acknowledge them and interact with that, something you don't always sees with sales people. She even gave my son a stamp on his hand and he asked them questions about their age and what they liked. So just wanted to say for those that have been avoiding this one that I believe the customer service is really great, so if it once wasn't then it sure turned around! And in regards to lines, yeah it's like that everywhere from CVS to the grocery store to the Post Office. I expect that when I go as there's only two workers at the front counter and don't hold it against them if they're understaffed at the moment. I haven't had to wait in any crazy long lines, but I'm also not seen as soon as I get in. Hope this helps! read more

Easy to get to. I like the "drive-through" drop off. Some of the staff is very pleasant and helpful. The self-serve kiosk in the lobby is great. But the wait is ridiculous. There's no reason why more employees can't staff the windows. They seem to be there - walking around and doing this and that, but no-one's helping customers! I've observed twice now that when customers begin to ask what's going on, the staff becomes very rude and upset. While I understand it's probably stressful for them to have so many customers, being rude in a customer-service position simply isn't acceptable. read more

Refuses to deliver OR hold my mail. Returns all my mail to sender. I rarely use the postal service but have used it when online places use it or have FedEx hand off to them. They returned a few packages as "refused at delivery". I assumed that they messed up and delivered to the wrong address, whatever. This time was the last straw. I checked the status of my package and saw two "Unable to deliver" attempts. There was nothing in my box- no "missed you" slip. My address was correct online. I called USPS customer service. When someone answered he told me that only the local office would be able to help. I tried calling this local office several times but it just rang and rang so clearly I would just need to go in person which is an inconvenience but fine. I left multiple notes/redelivery requests begging them not to return to the sender- to please leave a note but regardless I would be able to pick it up if delivery was not possible. I left work early and the office told me that they can't deliver to me because my neighborhood is a "high theft" area (this package would fit in the locked package box for my apartment). The woman had me write all my info and took my cell phone number and said they would call of the carrier returned with my package before they closed in the next 40 minutes. I drove home and kept my phone on me but didn't get a call. Today they made no attempt and so I came in again assuming they must have held the package. The same woman was there and remembered me. She said that because I never came back yesterday, that they returned my package yesterday! So for a rundown: My package was returned because I didn't return to the post office in a 40 minute period in which I was told to leave and come back if they called me and never did, this being a package that I received no notice of any delivery attempt and was refused delivery of because it might get stolen from me out of a locked box? Because basically the post office just stole it from me anyway Your tax dollars at work!! Additionally while I was at the office the second time, they had a lot of people's packages lazily stacked on the counter and the employee moving them onto a cart knocked them over the counter onto the floor and LAUGHED!! read more

I've been trying to get a new lock for my post box for nearly a month (my only choice since I lost the only key). It was promised within a week after I paid $40 for it. To make a long story shorter, I've been up and complained that I can't get my mail (unless I'm lucky enough to see the postman delivering) and that lying supervisor has told me, via the clerks, that it'll get done "Tuesday" or "I'll do it today" or "I'm going to do it right now". The latest lie was today. He said he'd do it (this was at noon) today and leave the new keys under my door mat, and call me, too. WELL, GUESS WHAT??/ NOTHING HAS HAPPENED AND IT'S 4 :35 pm. Do I have to go POSTAL on those people? Is customer service a new concept to them? I've been patient and now I'm not anymore. I am PISSSED!!!!!!! read more

The service at this post office is the some worst I've ever experienced. Slowest clerks on the planet. Customer service???? What's that? They never open closed windows when the line is especially long. But my real complaint is with my mail carrier. Mail delivery is late almost every day but that's nothing to what we've experienced after the 2" snow fall of last week. In the last seven days, we've received mail twice. Yesterday and today the roads were fine, still no mail. Funny, UPS, Amazon, and Fed Ex all made deliveries on my street this past week but not the good old "reliable" USPS. read more

This review is more about a mail carrier that works out of this location... About 2 weeks ago, she (an Asian female) delivered mail to the business I work for, and as she was leaving, she backed straight in to a client's car parked in our parking lot, caused pretty extensive damage, and then TOOK OFF!!! I witnessed the ENTIRE thing. It was unbelievable. I was, and still am, in shock. So, I called the Post Office to report what had happened, the delivery manager came down to check out the damage, talk to me and the owner of the vehicle that was hit, and take pictures. Well, here we are, 2 weeks later and she's STILL delivering our mail!!! I get that there's a process they have to go through; investigating, union red-tape, etc., but SHE BROKE THE LAW!!! Why isn't that grounds for immediate termination, or at least put her on leave for the time being??? ESPECIALLY since there is a witness to the whole thing! I also tried reporting it to the police, but was told that the owner of the car a.k.a. "the victim" is the one who has to report it. This whole thing infuriates and disgusts me, and the contact at the P.O. is no help, what-so-ever. All I get are ridiculous excuses and "we have to take the right steps" BS. So, hopefully this review will get someone's attention, and they'll do what's right- FIRE HER!!! read more

WORST SERVICE, SLOWEST WORKERS EVER. If I could give negative stars, I would. I have waited in line for over an hour on several occasions just to simply mail something. The workers seem incompetent and unaware of the fact that there is a line they need to attend to. On more than several occasions I have seen them help a customer, then walk away without saying anything as a new customer come up to the window. The person stands there looking confused and waits for five or ten minutes, unsure if the attendant will come back. When the attendant does return, they make no apologies and seem irritated that they have to help you out. In addition to their terrible in person customer service, I had issues with my mail being forwarded to my new place. After two weeks with no mail, I called this office and put in a complaint. I was given a case number, which turned out to either be fake or completely useless, I still can't decide to this day. I was told that my case would be addressed within 24 hours and that I would be called with a resolution. After 4 days I called the post office, explained my situation and gave them my case number. They assured me they were taking care of it and that I would receive a call after 24 hours. After three more days of waiting I called AGAIN, explained the situation, and supposedly it will be resolved within 24 hours. I'm still waiting to see if this is true. I've waited a total of 7 days now. Do yourself a favor and drive to a different post office, even if it's completely out of your way. It's hard to feel bad that the USPS is going under when they have customer service such as this. I hope they shut this office down, it would save everyone wasted time. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE FROM THE PASSPORT DEPARTMENT!!! The supervisor by the name of GINA (red head w/ receeding hairline) was rude and awful. I am SHOCKED to actually receive this type of bad treatment as a customer and had the nerve to question me that babies are NOT supposed to be labeled as a "STUDENT" in school because I had addressed his school name on the passport documentation. She was not very nice to my mother as well when my mom had repeatedly asked the same question to make sure everything is correct and questioned my mother asking her if she is the mother or I am the mother (in a rude way) then said I should pay the fees because I am the mother. LOL Funny that she has a lot to say in a negative way when she claim she is in high position when I asked to speak to the manager. I will NEVER come back to this place ever again and will tell all my friends and family about this...worst experience ever!!! I hope this lady gets fired immediately. I will find my way to contact the top boss for that location. read more
