I was only missing a front and back copy of my ID and birth certificate for the passport process and instead of offering to make me a copy that would take less than 5 minutes as i'm sure the postal office has a photo copy machine to do so I was told at 12:35pm 10 minutes early to my scheduled appt time that was for 12:45 pm that if I could go run to UPS store that was 10 minutes up the street and make a copy and be back by my 12:45 pm appt time that she would do my appt still. I don't know if she lacked sense as well but that wasn't feasible. she then followed it by "it says it on the paper right there" which wasn't necessary as again I wasn't holding anyone up the postal office was empty. she also referred me to the circuit court which again I felt she just kept adding to my frustration. I can accept the full responsibility for not obtaining a copy but I can't accept the blatant disrespect followed behind it. I would NEVER send anyone here to deal with her lack of human decency.

Could the USPS in general be better? Sure. Anything government could be. But in my experience with post offices in a few different cities/states, this branch does a helluva job. This branch does not have a package drop-off bin in the lobby, which was a surprise to me for such a large branch. So if you need to drop off a package that is larger than the standard mail drawer after hours/on the weekend, you're SOL.

It was late and I understand how it feels to be close to the end of shift and having customers in your face. Who hasn't been there? I had some hiccups with delivery of an item I needed to put inside a care package to ship to my family member. I'm writing on the box as she's closing up and she comes up and says "We're closed." I ask if I would still be able to send my package.. "Yea but you need to write a little bit faster." What? Since when am I, as the customer, on your time? I was raised right so I bit my tongue on that one. But I think she needs a major reality check. You can't say whatever you want to just anybody. It'll come back to bite you eventually. I didn't check you but somebody won't be so nice. On top of that comment she made, she upset one other customer before me as well. All in the span of 10 minutes. I'm not sure what they argued about but she went back and forth with her which of course is highly unprofessional and totally uncalled for. How in the heck there is no one to make a key when you go to pick it up? Why are you not able to receive a mailbox key when you move to a new state and home? This is ridiculous. Customers will need to drive in back to enter. The lot is huge and signage is over the door. Of note this is the only passport service on the Southside. Appointments are highly recommended, but when slow they will take walk-in. Customers can compete forms online or in person. Check or debit card appear to be the only two forms of payment. Cash was not discussed however. There is plenty of seating as the area is spacious. Two agents were working and luckily caught at a slow weekday. The wait was short, the process easy and the customer service exceptional. My daughter who is 18 will have her passport in around six weeks. She also opted for a second form of ID the passport card. It's the size of a drivers license. It's somewhat newer. You can bring your own photo of official size, or opt for the agent to take. If picky bring your own, the photo for my daughter came out extremely light. My experiences with the post office have been average to weak, so this is a huge bump in confidence for the U.S. Postal Service. Also of mention for those that need documentation they can obtain online through Vital Check. I requested a Yelp edit to add passport services. Full 5 stars.
