If I could give this place 0 stars I would. First of all, ever since they switched our mail man the last year or so the woman who has taken his place has been extremely rude and uncooperative. I have parked my car in front of my house which happens to be in front of my mail box for my whole life and it has never been an issue. It's not like it's blocking her at all from being able to put anything inside of it. She is just lazy to get out of the truck and put it in, which is her job. She has honked, left unpleasant notes and just today refrained from giving us our mail because i parked there. It's so unprofessional and lazy for her to act this way and we are beyond frustrated with her actions. Enough is enough. Second, I stopped by the actual post office to send a package that I was selling on Poshmark to someone and they "lost" my package. When I went back to see what may have happened they said I needed to call and were absolutely NO help at all, plus they were extremely rude. This place is unbelievable. read more

I moved to Sylmar eight months ago, I have been at this post office twice since I've moved to this location. The service has been mediocre. The first time I visited my experience was with a gentleman who was helping me out he seemed nice but frustrated, he didn't look like he wanted to be there and please keep in mind the office just had opened up on a Saturday am. Today, being Saturday again , I had to stop by again to send some packages out. The post office was not busy both ladies at the front desk had a bit of an attitude when I asked questions. I am well educated, I'm not a stupid but I had questions about the processes and they seem to be bothered. I understand they deal with a lot of crazy people out there however customer service is a must in this type of business. If you don't like your job please quit. This Post Office is completely rude and in professional. You register and fill out a form to use it as a physical address and it gets changed to a P.O. Box address having ur items shipped jus to be denied. Calling to speak to a manager is impossible because EDGAR GILBERT IS A COMPLETE ASSHOE who is sarcastically rude. The people who work here are by far some of the most disgruntled people I have met. I had an issue with the self service machine. I bought stamps and the machine shortage me. So I got in line and tried to get a refund. The young woman at the counter was rude then sends me to the corner to wait for the supervisor who can provide my refund. I'm waiting and I finally ask about the manager only to be told that there was no manager on duty and that they had left. So why oh why did this woman told me to wait. I was so annoyed. This is my neighborhood post office and it's average. Nothing special about it. They used to have days to get a passport but now they don't so the Valley has to travel to Glendale or Van Nuys. It's never really crowded, and there is always traffic. There are p.o. boxes inside and a few kiosks if you don't want to wait in line. There is also a drive thru drop-off option. There is plenty of parking in the lot. read more

FYI, if you are renting a PO Box make sure you bring a print out of the transaction because lazy ass Aida will make you fill out a WHOLE new form even though she tells you she can look up your info. Where do I begin.... To start off I have a specific delivery setting on my account to help avoid theft and its never respected. Second, I scheduled a delivery for two packages to a different address and they never arrived. I had to go pick them up. When I asked why they were never delivered all they could say was " I don't know." Lastly, the next incident was when I received an alert saying that my package was available for pickup. So I went to the post office only to be told "oh it just arrived". I asked if that was a problem and the lady responded with " well i would have to go back there and by the time i finish this and get to that... well you know". I obviously didn't know, being that when I arrived she was helping a couple as I stood in line for about 15 minutes. I had my son's gift for his dad coming in from out of the country and I didn't realize it needed signature, due to the fire starting last night i didn't leave it on the door, so I was very worried it would be sent back. I moved to Sylmar in October and one of the first people I met was my Mail Carrier, Frank. The day I met him he made me feel welcome in my new neighborhood. He is such a Nice and Friendly person and it is always nice to see him because he always greets me with a smile and a happy disposition. He gives me Peace of Mind because I know he cares about making sure we all get whatever mail is coming. It always brightens my day when I see him. read more

Not sure why all the bad reviews. I went in today, Saturday, and a guy was helpful and completed my transaction with no issue. Line had about 6 people in front of me and it moved fairly quickly with 3 people at the counters. I even had to go back and ask another lady a question because I thought I messed up. Saved my life. I called to track a time sensitive package which I had paid an intercept for and was still awaiting approval. I called and spoke to Ruben, who not only tracked my package but also called the carrier who took it out and asked them to hold the package at the post office. I had already paid the intercept and they were "still looking" for my package but this young man did all the work for me in an extremely polite and timely manner. Wish I would have called the post office first before paying that stupid intercept fee. But I am an incredibly happy with the service I was provided. read more

i've been coming to this post office my whole life, wether it's to send packages out or to pick up. a few years ago i would have rated it about 3 stars because our former mail carrier(s) would leave other peoples mail in our house and ours would end up with other people as well. since they got a new mail carrier in my area (a year or 2 ago) i must say everything is amazing. she's very sweet and always delivers everything that is ours and we don't get anyones mail as well. she's a doll. the service at the location is also great, i cant complain. i sell things online and they have never lost any packages that i send out. but a few years ago, we have lost packages that i ordered, and they did everything in their power to located it and they always found it so i cant complain. it happens, they aren't perfect, the thing that matters is that they did everything they could in their power and actually found it. usually the case was that our former mail carrier would deliver it to the wrong house. the clerks/cashiers inside are wonderful, i know them all from coming so much. i'm always in and out very fast, unless there is a line..usually gets packed in the morning when they first open and the last hour before they close. in my experience there is always parking and it's cool and clean inside. thanks USPS! :-) read more

Very unclean place. In addition, I cannot drop off my mail during after hours in the outdoor mailbox. There's always a food festival going on on the sidewalk. There are like five food stands. I can't even get into drive-thru and leave my mail. Also, there's always trash left over from all the food stands. Disgusting. read more

The USPS Service is one of the worse services known to man! DO NOT EVER USE this Service! They don't care about you whatsoever! I shipped a package to Canada via EXPRESS, which the fees are almost double UPS. I will NEVER EVER use USPS service again! By using USPS EXPRESS your package is guaranteed to be delivered to the destination by a certain date and time. I shipped this package for $300 in gifts to my brother in Canada. The package left the United States via LosAngeles and never made it to Canada. I put a case for this package which is now considered lost! Waited over two hours on the phone and all supervisor told me that they are not responsible for my package! Mind you she told me they are not responsible! Why did I spend an extra amount of money for express service and to ensure my package if they aren't responsible? Phone who just blatantly lied to me end it wasn't helpful at all! Warning! Do not even consider on using USPS service ever! Your package will be lost and they don't care and you'll never get your money back! they probably have behind the scenes ripping people off because they know that there's no way anyone can do anything about it! They are thieves! I will be suing USPS for negligence, loss of money, and false advertising! If you ever want is a service to ship your package to Canada or wherever, then use UPS or FedEx, which USPS are Corrupt and they will lose your packages, which are being stolen by their workers and your items will be sold on the black market! read more

They have 2 employees that are really nice and helpful but everyone else is not and they are always in a bad mood. They are always out of stock in supplies and when I went in to request forms (45 certified mailing receipts) they said that they don't give out that many, I could either order them online or go to multiple post offices and ask for a few at a time. Regarding the mail delivery service. Today the delivery person left 2 packages at my neighbors door. One was mine. Since there were 2 packages he could easily see they were different address numbers/names. Also a few months ago I was at home waiting for registered mail. That night I found a note in our cluster mailbox located down the street. It said no one available. Checked security camera and no one showed up during the day. This post office is horrible. I don't sit home 24/7 waiting for the postman, sorry USPS. Whenever a signature is required, the postman does not leave the package at my door which is understandable. How about placing a orange slip in my mailbox? Maybe the postman didn't feel like doing it this time. It's 50/50. I end up requesting a re-delivery on USPS.com and I NEVER get one. What's the point of offering a re-delivery if you don't follow through. I end up going to the post office to pick it up where I waste my time having someone search the black hole in the back room for my package. This has happened several times with my re-deliveries. This is the most incompetent post office ever. Lost packages, poor customer service. We've had packages stolen from our doorstep and have a note taped to the mailbox requesting that packages not be left unattended and guess what.. another package stolen because the mail carrier either can't read or doesn't care. Also, the one mail carrier that did take the time to read the note left a message to reschedule delivery so I did just that. Three days later, still no package even though the website says that it was rescheduled for delivery on the 22nd. I wouldn't be surprised if that one is lost too. It's just beyond comprehension, the mail delivery person would not want to walk to my apartment to deliver priority/signature required package, as usual, however, this time, the carrier simply asked a stranger to both of us-a tenant at the complex for signature, and put it in the mail box, this is fraud, forged signature, now, since I reported it, the carrier, in revenge, does not deliver my mail, stating there was no access to the complex of 70 apartments, mind you, just mine has not been delivered, where is the supervision, this a very serious matter. read more

This office on Foothill is easily one of the incompetent facilities I've ever had the displeasure of receiving my mail from. I have NEVER had so many issues with receiving my mail like I have since moving to Sylmar about 1 1/2yrs ago. Our incompetent mail carrier consistently marks packages as "Delivered" when I've been home with my door open and there is no sign of her. I even once witnessed her dropping a package out of her car as she was gathering things and didn't even notice that she did until I pointed it out to her. Sometimes packages I've been waiting for are marked as "Undeliverable because they couldn't get access". Are you F-ing kidding me?! How do you deliver mail AT ALL then?! In the last 6 months we've had 3 packages lost that were marked "Delivered". I went to the PO to talk to the post master and all he does is stand there like an idiot with an attitude like you're inconveniencing him somehow. All he tells you is it's marked as delivered therefore too bad, so sad. I'm planning to install a security cam on my front door so I can nail them with video evidence and make them reimburse me for packages they claim as delivered when they are not. Worst service ever! Three years ago, I was sent a few packages that came up "missing" I reported it and the employees acted like I was the thief and was interrupting there day. Recently, many of my mail was returned to sender stating, "insufficient address" when I've lived here for 18 years. So I called to rectify, Ed was the person who answered the phone. He tried every excuse to blame it on me, finally I told him I wasn't looking to blame anyone just a solution. Our regular carrier is great and most times haven't had an issue with the clerks in the office. The issue I'm having is that I've left out two parcels at my mailbox to be picked up. For two days our mail was delivered but parcels were not picked up. Day one was Saturday, January 6th and now today I come home from work to find they still were not picked up. Tried several times to call the Sylmar office only to have it ring forever and disconnect. I also tried calling 800ASK-USPS going through an automated system that kept asking me to input a tracking number. When I finally got to where I think I would be connected to a live person, the recording said my wait time is between 30-40 minutes! I searched online for the Postmasters number but of course can't find that info out either... only her name. read more

The WORST Custom Service EVER!!! I will warn everyone, avoid Ms. Martinez at the counter at all costs, this woman is miserable and will quickly take it out on you! She will even go out of her way to chastise you even if you are standing in another line. WHY in the world they have her working this front desk is beyond me. Attn USPS Managers, do the community a favor and have this woman work in the back where she has no contact with the public! This post office sucks!!! Costumer service is terrible. No manners or dedication to helping. Waiting in line while 1 out of the 3 clerks were actually helping someone and the other two just talked gossip about their friends husband. Depending what clerk you get they will actually give you supplies. Every other time someone will give me a box of the "Priority Mail Flat Rate Envelopes" which has 300 in it, the other times they will laugh and claim they can't give you a box and will hand you a few. I'm all about following rules and your work policy but at least be ethical and consistent with your own rules. Plus you guys need to calm down on the attitude you give to costumers. If I could give 0 stars I would. I had a former roommate who had a (nightmare) dog who she let wander around freely. One day, the dog got out while our lovely mail lady was delivering packages and attacked her. Obviously not okay, and I totally understood them putting a dog hold on my address. That roommate moved out in October (thank God), and my new roommate, myself, and even my mother have spoken with people in the post office to get the dog hold lifted. NO ONE has been helpful, different employees have had different answers, some said that a supervisor would arrange to come and make sure the offending dog was no longer on the property, and then when we spoke to another employee we were told that they don't do that. I have been emailing them regularly since November and NO ONE at the Sylmar Branch has responded to me. I have seen postal worker WALK DIRECTLY PAST my door to my neighbors to drop off mail. If the dog hold is for their safety - shouldn't it exclude any addresses that they have to walk past my door to get to? I've even provided them with the new address the dog lives at with my former roommate - an address that I now have unfortunately memorized. If I could only order items from non-USPS delivery carriers I would, but unfortunately this useless organization is a mainstay. read more
