This is a small, neighborhood post office - the one-room kind that every small town in America has…read more It's nice to find that kind of small community post office in a bigger city :) There's access (and drop-off mailboxes) on the back side, uphill from the Kroger parking lot in Hillcrest, and walk-in access on Kavenaugh proper. It's so narrow it's easy to miss from either side, but very convenient for those of us who live nearby. They have P.O. boxes for rent, small shipping boxes and envelopes for USPS Priority packages, the usual selection of stamps. But why this location stands out to me is the individual service. There's rarely ever more than one person at the counter to help customers, but there's rarely more than two customers in the place, so things tend to move quickly. But, I've had consistently great service from the folks here, and any letter or package I send from this location seems, almost magically, to get where it's going at least a day before it should. What higher praise can you give a Post Office?

There…read moreis no kiosk in the lobby/P.O. box area, so for all services you have to go inside to the main office. They do passports but you must make an appointment online. Save yourself some time and fill out the application online as well and print it out. I've seen so many people show up and then fill one out on the spot. FYI, you can get photos at Walgreens or Wal-Mart if you need them. The customer service here is amazing and every single person who has helped me has been so polite and professional. Love that. Definitely have to give Austin major props because he usually always helps me. I've never seen him in a bad mood or without a smile on his face. I'm sure at first he thought it was odd I was shipping stuff out so much but told him i send things to family back home and he understands. I do think this location could use a self service kiosk to help with after hours or during the lunch rush, but unsure it's a budget issue or if they have to request one.
