be careful ordering anything oversized through this postal office. employees on route will cut corners and mark items as undeliverable because the "mailbox is full." as if they're actually putting a griddle or a juicer in the mailbox... yeah right. What makes someone incapable of delivering a package to the door? Ordered $65 of stamps online 3/18/26 was notified by e-mail they were out for delivery. Did not come mail man said he was unable to access by box. Very bad manager. They have a drop-off box, but when I dropped my packages, the manager said I could not drop off because I had dropped off many packages. Why??? Why the drop-off box is still available, he said: "Come back tomorrow to drop it off at the back station." ??? The drop off box outside is broken, the drop box inside is also broken, and the door bell to call for service is also broken. There is only 1 employee behind the counter and therefore, the line is long. The only thing that works in this location is the automatic kiosk. So if you need anything that you can't do at the kiosk, you are out of luck. read more

"I'm going to go Postal!" This place must be where the phrase originated! I've been to this location at least 50 times and it is consistently BAD. Today I was there right before 5pm to pick up a registered package. I rang the bell (like the directions on the wall say to do) and no one came to the window. I went to the regular counter, was served by a very grumpy woman and then proceeded to leave. At this point they had locked the door which I understand, so no one else comes in. But they wouldn't let me out!! I asked numerous employees to let me out and they ignored me. They truly didn't acknowledge my request. One man went to the back after I spoke to him, and I assumed he was going to get keys... but Silly Me! I ended up being trapped in the post office for over 10 minutes. It doesn't seem like long to some, but being stuck in there felt like forever! I felt like I was in Postal Prison! (see photo) Other problems I've had with them include a lack of stamps. When I put my mail on hold for a month while I was out of town, the mail was held at the post office and then they just dumped all of it on my front porch without my permission. My IRS refund check was in that pile; good thing it was still there! I witnessed a very unpleasant supervisor fighting with another customer over return address labels that resulted in the customer threatening legal action. Bizarre. The people who work here seem stressed out and completely overworked. The supervisor woman I have seen here before seems unprofessional and unable to deal with the duties of her job. Even my postal carrier (who works from this location) gives me other people's mail almost weekly. I've received very important highly personal lab test results and court documents for other people. I wonder what mail of mine is floating around the neighborhood. I don't know what else can go wrong with this place! read more

THE WORST POST OFFICE I'VE EVER DEALT WITH. No one answers the phone. I'm staying with my elderly father in law during the pandemic. I've had our mail redirected to his address. We've been here for literal months. At first it was missing mail, then out right packages I delivered from this post office where I pre paid for postage and tracking shows that, even though I hand deliver the package their post office for mailing, shows that it has yet to be handed off to them for delivery. Shipments with my name all of a sudden have gone from delivered to "addressee not recognized". I've come into the office to complain only for them to lie to my face and give me every excuse on the book as to what has gone on. I can understand a few incidents, but every single piece of mail that I've delivered or have had delivered to me in the last month has had complications. Add insult to injury, the same father in law has had several checks stolen from this location totalling over 6K. the money has luckily been recovered, but I wouldn't trust any mail coming through this location. I came here after Christmas because I was getting rid of a ton of crap on ebay and I wanted to pick up some free Priority mail boxes. I dunno if it's because they're gov employees and can't get fired or what, but the service sucked. People there seemed to run when it was my turn to come up to the counter. I already checked the front for some medium flat rate priority mail boxes, so I had to ask them if they had any in back. I finally get helped by some disgruntled postal employee, and he was very rude. He pretty much interrogated me as if I was a liar. "Aren't derr any boxes ober derr? Oh noo, dey ober derr." (Imagine Apu from the simpsons.) Anyways, after finally convincing him that I looked all over the place and I didn't see them, he went to the back and gave me some boxes. He even didn't want to give them to me. Not sure why he was so protective of them, but I finally got a few boxes. One bad thing was they ran out of Large boxes. Come on USPS! I showed up there and I gave one of them a prepaid package so he can scan it and give me a receipt after standing in line for almost 15 minutes he said that I can't help you you have to do it in the machine outside so I lost my place I went to the machine outside and it wasn't working when I try to go back to him he said you have to stand in line again which took me another 20 minutes And then the second employee told me the same thing when I told him your machine doesn't work they finally took it read more

Here comes your friendly neighborhood Spid.... Ok, take out the word friendly in the front and just put Post Office after the word neighborhood should suffice. You will see what I mean. Like the First Colony Branch Library, the Sugar Land Post Office at Grants Lake is a long time staple resident at the intersection of Grants Lake Blvd and Austin Parkway. This branch services a great portion of Sugar Land, especially the newer ones, us included and is bigger and newer than the one on Matlage Way across from the old Sugar plant. It is often pretty busy from open to close. This is the branch we go turn in our pink slips for packages undeliverable but requires a signature (typically registered mail or parcels/packages that were shipped internationally). Post office workers are considered federal employees, so it is not surprising that I would see the same familiar faces year after year. Doing the same things year after year can sure put a wear on people, and you can really see it in some of their faces. First, let's get the most "pleasant" part of the way, if you are turning in your pink slip, be prepared to wait because that's what the other line behind the counter is for, getting their packages. There is only one window for package pick up and you have to factor in the person going back there to search for your item and of course people in front who aren't familiar with this process and looked confused. You turn in a pink slip you got in your mailbox, be sure to print your name and sign it and take out your ID to present to the clerk when it is your turn to save time. Unless you feel comfortable using the automated shipping kiosks, you will proceed to the counter. Now the cream of the crop, the counter team members that offers the shipping services we all need to send our packages to our loved ones (or not so loved ones like return merchandises). These folks are trained to rinse and repeat all the procedures drilled into them, so I can see why they don't look very enthused that the only new thing they can to do is to input in a different destination address. If you already know the procedure and filled out the required forms, it's straight-forward in and out. But if your package is not packaged well enough, necessary forms aren't completed, or just simply look confused, be prepared for a look of disdain from some of them and just be ready to finish the necessary forms on the side while the next customer is being served. Forgot a pen? Hard to borrow, might as well take one with you. Package not taped well? Tape is not free, might as well take a roll with you. The only tape that is "free" is if you ship priority in one of the Priority boxes, then they let you use the priority tape. At least there are some workspaces next to the counters so you can finish the forms and scoot back in line (may not be the same person that helped you first). The other patrons are generally aware of this so they usually won't give you beef about "seemingly" cutting in line, because chances are, this happened to them in the past too. Oh, they will typically ask you if you need any books of stamps and manage to squeeze out a "Have a nice day" at the end. This location also has Passport services that takes care of procedures for first time applicants or renewals that "has" to be done face to face. Just be sure to make appointment ahead of time because there may not be someone there all the time. Finally, USPS shipment rates are still cheaper than your other carriers (UPS/FedEx), and forms the backbone of the mail delivery infrastructure. Be nice and smile to the postal workers, they have been doing the same things for many, many years. read more

I went to this location today to get my son's passport renewed. I had the worst experience with the lady who was there to help us with our appointment. She was very rude and seemed very racist. I would advice you to think twice before you go to this location for your passport renewals etc. She was not at all helpful and seemed as if she was doing us a favor by being there. At first she did nt seem to find our appointment, then she said that we are 10 minutes late, and i explained that i was in the line and i felt rude to just cut the line and come to her although i do realize that the person in front on us did not even had an appointment. We will not be going to this location again. I think its better if you go to the Downtown passport office, its much quick and efficient. read more

AND... THEY KNOW IT. They put forth ZERO effort. You spend 40 minutes trying to get them on the phone only to be immediately hung up on. You can't prove it's intentional, but we all know it is. I write this review while I am pis..d off. I need to vent. I have been going to this post office for 17 years, 3 or 4 days a week. Today I had a notice in my box for two certified letters. So I rang the bell for the little door to open for the person in charge of retrieving them to take my orange slip. Then I waited. And waited. And waited. I rang the bell about once every 10 minutes. Other people in line behind me also rang the bell from time to time. At times there was no line for the regular post office employees standing at their stations, yet no one would or could come over to help us. Most people in my line ended up just leaving. Arguments broke out. One between a person in line for 30 minutes and a postal employee was particularly loud. Finally, one hour later ... somebody opened the window to help us. They can check the security cameras...I was literally there for an hour. The person behind me was there for close to an hour. This is just not right and needs to be fixed. Normally the employees at this office are helpful. But today was just awful. Please fix this! Rant over. read more
