Because my hair is badly thinning, my daughter convinced me to look at wigs in this store. The selection is large and, as a first time wig buyer, it was a daunting prospect. Putting on a wig cap was much more difficult than I expected, even though my hair is sparse. It also does nothing to flatter your looks. We were there for quite a while and I tried on at least 15 wigs of different colors and different styles with no luck. The young lady who was assisting me, Uni (my apologies, I know this is mis-spelled), was very nice and so patient with a customer who truly didn't know what she wanted. In the end, it was Uni who chose the wig that I finally bought. Without her help I'm sure I would have gotten nowhere in the selection process. It was because of her that the whole experience turned out to be much more pleasant than I had anticipated. My next step is to try and find a wig stylist. read more

I am always happy with the service and products. The quality in this store is well worth the visit! Until today... this is in correspondence to the review left by S Moody below (03/06/21) I can't believe how disrespectful the owner was to a customer. I witnessed a patron try to exchange a wig she had purchased not even 10 minutes previous per her receipt and as witnessed by the tellers (I spoke with them before I left to verify what occurred). She went to the car to put her wig on and noticed the elastic, where the wig hook should have been, was ripped off at the nape of the wig. When she came back into the store the tellers directed her to the owner. They debated for about 7 minutes before I asked what was wrong. I usually do not engage in strangers' conversation, but I could tell the patron was on the verge of tears. After listening to both reasonings, I suggested the owner replace the wig, then contact the manufacturer for a replacement so he would not lose any money. He proceeds to tell us to contact the manufacture ourselves and ask for a replacement instead, which I said did not make any sense because the purchase came from his store and he has a relationship with the manufacture. He then tells us we are trying to scam him and asks how does he know we are not scammers. Really?! We are not asking for a monetary refund. We are asking for a damaged wig, purchased less than 20 minutes ago from your store, to be replaced! That was it! Something you could have easily received credit for from the vendor or even a replacement at no cost to you. Where do you lose money? I used to love going to USA Beauty, but never again. I left the items I was going to purchase at the counter and exited the building. I do not recommend anyone patron this store. I found the same items across the street at B&P Beauty for less. I understand there are people who take advantage of customer service, but this did not make any sense. The wig could have been easily replace with no loss to the owner. I have contacted OUTRE about their replacement policy and will follow up on this review if you are interested in finding out if what the owner says is true in regards to damaged wigs purchased at the vendor level. Update: I attached the reply from Outre's Customer Service. As I stated, USA Beauty could have replaced the wig and guaranteed customer satisfaction, but instead chose to be accusatory and disrespectful. Obviously employees discriminate and stereotype customers without cause at this establishment.I was yelled at to leave my midsized purse at the counter while another woman, whose bag was literally 3x as large as mine, shopped freely and probably shoplifted while others were overly concerned about me, a paying customer. Soooooooooooo while waiting for the Jamaican restaurant to open, my boyfriend and I decided to grab a brush from the USA Beauty outlet. Initially the store looked like a decent establishment until we walked through the doors security system. I'll admit it was a little shocking looking at the 50 or so security cameras above, but the clerk who was scanning the cameras for possible crooks was more aggravating. She never gave us eye contact and the management obviously hasn't taught her how to muster a positive greeting as her eyes were trained on the tv screens above for possible shoplifters. With more BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE she paused our transaction as she yelled over us to a customer and reprimanded her for trying to take a bag into the store while shopping ... "Good Grief". I'll say it's pretty disappointing that this establishment is loosing so much money that eyelashes and such have theft devices... but instead of treating all new customers like crooks it would be nice to greet new customers and perhaps not follow them with your eyes as they roam the store. Why advertise the discounts, if you are not willing to apply them to the transaction. Justin is rude along with the rest of the ladies that work there, except Carmen. Carmen is the nicest sales person there. She will help match hair color, textures and search for products in the back. I always waited for Carmen to help me. Why play Gospel music, then you talk snappy to me if I ask a question? No patience or sales skills. No one asks if you need help. No one greets you. Businesses are having to rethink how they operate with everything going on and the businesses that were operationally poor before are going to be even worse off, case in point. You pull up and there's like 3-4 signs in every window (8.5 x 11) telling you they're doing curbside only and to call a number to get what you need. Call the number...four times...it goes to a weird voicemail box. Eventually I decide to go spend my money elsewhere since we ain't got it together here. Somehow or another I end up going thru my phone and I check the spam messages and there's a ton of texts saying text us what you want and include a picture and we'll bring it out to you. So the lesson to be learned here is you have to be ahead of technology. Spam-Filtering is something new that every carrier is rolling out as required by the government and if you're not aware of that fact, it could be costing you a lot of business. Furthermore, they have no website, so if you don't already know what you're looking for, I guess you have no way find what you need and/or what they actually carry. As a business owner, it would take you a day if not far less to come up with a list that you could easily take pics of and upload to Yelp in the pictures area. I'm trying to help and support businesses open during all this, but is it too much to ask that you do something to help yourself too? read more

I asked two different associates before checking out but was told I had the right product. Got home and realized it was indeed the wrong product. I was nervous about coming here after the reviews but stopped in after multiple friends referred me here. Upon walking in, I noticed plastered on the front door was the faces of people who stole from the store. I came in looking for a realistic looking wig because I recently suffered hair loss due to health issues. Lost and unsure where to start, I asked the lady at the front for help. She coldly said "get a wig cap, they a dollar, find something you like and we'll try it on". After trying on a few wigs, I found a very realistic affordable one. The lady warmed up to me eventually and I completely understand her standoffish approach, her business had previously been ripped off so I don't blame her. Couldn't find the Leon valley location on here but I received the WORST service there. I can't believe how much of a joke this place is and whoever runs this business. I come often to get lashes and yesterday I came in going through the isles looking, I was approached by a man asking if I had put lashes in my purse. I would've made a big deal and spoke to a manager but I was in such shock. I even let him look in my bag and of course he found nothing. Wasn't even given an apology or approached by another cashier. I believe they are illegal in their practices. I now have to get my Lawyer and the BBB to deal with them due to their inability to humanely communicate. They sold me a used, filthy, contaminated, unhygienic wig that was on display, the smell is very offensive. It was designed for very dark skin, I am very pale white, which they were aware, they did nothing to help me and I could never wear it, I am not a wig expert, I needed and expected some level of help from them. I just survived cancer and really needed advice and direction in finding something "glam" dramatic for a up and coming beauty photo shoot, I saved enough funds (cancer strips you of money too!) for a glamorous hair piece and ended up with this monstrosity! The staff have been extremely offensive and unjust to my husband and to my kind 76 year old Mother. I was sold this as new and yet they are refusing it as final sale on all wigs as a "new" item but this is not new it is second hand, used, many heads have worn this and added a little of their own scent/dandruff to it. Refusing credit even is not legal on a second hand piece, it's NOT new (although they charged me for new!) or in a new clean packet, it was "used" already by many. Refusing refunds on items damaged and opened by them is not ethical, the wig was sold in a disgraceful state of which they were completely aware it should never have been sold. I was in a rush, I had just finished intense, grueling medical infusions and had to get home. I was offered no help in that shop, they wanted money, and made it obvious they did not like "white" people, or maybe any customer. I have never complained before, I like to offer people a chance but this place should be closed down for the protection of the consumer. I run a small business and I could never treat my customers this way, I do understand the law on returns and these people are illegally practicing wrong ethics and now even blocking me from reaching the owner. The one on Kenwick is the reason I will never go to another one of these stores. I am a regular customer. I love that they have everything in there. They have such a big selection of everything. 1/11/2018 I go into the store to buy a wig for me and my mom. They have 50 percent off all wigs. 1.) The female that works there are very unprofessional. They are super ghetto. One of the workers was telling the other worker I don't feel like dealing with people today. Like working with people isn't her job. She threw her Hispanic customer off on another worker.(poor lady) 2.) As I proceeded to check out they took the wigs to the front my wig that I wanted was 10 dollars lesser I was a bit confused because I never saw the wig she took to the front and prices was different the wig I wanted was 44.99 and the wig I was charged for was 55.99. I tried on 3 different wigs. I specifically told her which one I wanted. As we are at the registered she says 55.99 I'm like that's not right my sister paid for it so I didn't get a chance to look at it(my fault) 3.) As we attempted to leave out there was a beep. The Hispanic cashier stated it's something in that bag. My sister said are you referring to my diaper bag because there is nothing in there. I had that diaper bag on my back the whole time and put it down when we were checking out. She assumed we put something in the diaper bag not saying oh maybe you all mistakenly left something in the basket even our bag where we had just purchased our stuff was in the cart. One of the black workers came by as we was checking everything confused because we did not take anything and said it's the cart. So how in the heck the cashier did not know it was the cart and she works there. As we proceed to go home we discussed all that happened. I looked at the wig and I call back up there because I discovered it was the wrong wig. I wanted to make an exchange I had not even open the wig etc. I call up there a female stated I couldn't exchange it and i could speak with the owner. That the wig is a final sale. I was so frustrated after all that had happened so I advised her I will no longer shop with them ever again. Then I hung up on her. At least black fox has better customer service. I had 3 occasions of bad service there at USA Beauty Outlet on bandera off 410 #1 I walked in one evening buying braiding hair for my daughter and came upon a hair product that interest me. I saw Justin and walked up to him to get his opinion on that product. "He stated that he doesn't know how it works cause he doesn't use it" smh‍ #2 I had just walked into the same store on a different day to buy some weave for my daughter and as soon as I walked in the security sensor went off. This Hispanic woman walked up to me in an aisle asking for my purse in which she took off with it stating so the sensor won't go off when we leave. I knew what her intentions were so I voluntarily handed it to her then 5 minutes later she came back and handed it back to me. I was so embarrassed for being accused of stolen merchandise and when I left. I got the ugliest look from that woman. #3 I came back to the store last week to buy braiding hair that evening and as we were checking out one of the cashiers was repeatedly checking the tv cameras with the remote in which she wasn't paying attention to her surroundings. If there was ever a need for a negative star option this place would deserve it. I'm from out of state and decided to stop in to potentially buy a wig today (25 Mar 2018) at the location close to Leon valley off of 410, but what I didn't know was that I needed to bring pepper spray with me for protection. As I am not a wig connoisseur it was clear that I needed help, that's about the time when a woman interjected on my conversation with my friend to tell me you have to buy a wig cap at the front desk to get started. Confused, because there is not clear way to determine who works in this filth bucket and who doesn't, I asked this person if she worked here. Without addressing me like a person who cares about their job she shakes her head "yes" and turns around back to me with a CLEAR ATTITUDE on her face. Considering her face and body language didn't look inviting I decided to no longer ask questions and proceed to the front desk to buy the wig cap. Now, with my wig cap in hand my friend and I decide to start our hunt for wigs. When we arrive back at the wig section the "person who works there but isn't happy to be here getting a paycheck for having the worlds worst attitude" is on the phone in an isle talking to someone about how she didn't want to fucking be there today and they don't need her so she's about to just leave, while half ass spraying wigs with some type of solution. We press on with out wigtastic adventure as I pick out one and my friend is picking out another she says joking "How even do we do this?" Laughing I said back to her "I'm not sure but we will figure it out ourselves" That is when through the must of untamed wigs that same unappreciative voice that was talking badly about having a place to pay her bills chimes in and says "Well if you did what I told you, you could try on wigs" Confused as to why I was being spoken to without speaking to this person, I picked up the (probably recycled) cap off the table and showed it to her while stating that I did in fact, buy a wig cap. This woman who must've been upset about getting her lights cut off back at home and was now about to try and take it out on me adds "Then you should've just asked for help." I decided to inform her that because the two times I have ever seen her in my life have already been lackluster that I would not be asking her for any assistance. This displeased the woman built like a refrigerator so she decided to start raising her voice and cussing at me. A PERSON WORKING AT THIS STORE HAD NO PROBLEM DISRESPECTING ME BLATANTLY WHILE OTHER CUSTOMERS AND "WORKERS" WATCHED. For dramatic effect she starts to walk up the isle and toward me as if she would have no problem starting a physical altercation and yelling at me saying "You don't have to try on any of our fucking wigs" I tried to stay as calm as I could, stating that I wasn't clear on why she felt the need to address me in such a manner but that since I bought a wig cap, I sure as shit would be trying on three busted ass wigs. One of the other people getting paid way too much to do so little walked up trying to calm the wild beast by laughing so the washed up line backer finishes off with "You better help these people before I lose my fucking job" *Side note, with how comfortable she was with acting like such a imbecile, she probably shouldn't have a job here anyway* I did in fact try on three wigs while being over looked by this ex convict, and had to listen to her treat us as if we had stolen something by telling others to keep eyes on us and tracking (incorrectly) the amount of wigs we'd tried on, as if more than three of these things would be pleasurable. At one point a man did step in and help me and he was great but he told the 6 foot aggressive sack of potatoes that I need help to which she says loudly "Oh well" If it isn't clear by now I didn't and would never buy anything from this place anyway, I still felt the need to address the disrespect I endured with a manager..but as I am just one person of many coming into this world of hair hell, I doubt it will ever make a difference and this untamed turd will probably continue on, picking and choosing who she wants to take her anger (about not having enough hair to properly make a ponytail with) out on as she so pleases. Worst store! Will be taking my business elsewhere and letting all my friends and family know as well. Went in to get color for my hair like always, and Chelsea, the only person there that knows about color and chemicals, is no longer there. I heard she was let go because Justin the owner assumed she was stealing. So wrong, but yet he has that dark skinned girl with gap working there. That's who he needs to worry about, that girl bragging to her friends how she took hair and wigs from right under they nose. Took a 600$ human hair wig with no problem. Also talked trash about store selling wigs with mold wigs that had got damage from the rain and owner told her to still sell them. Im happy Chelsea is outta there but she didn't deserve to go that way. She's a headstrong, hardworking, loyal person. They obviously didn't take the time to recognize that. I normally do not write reviews but this was the most disappointing experience I've ever encountered at a beauty store. After spending hours trying on and selecting the perfect natural wigs - I decided to buy three. When I arrived home I realized that the attendant did not select one of the three correct wigs. I immediately contacted the store and was informed that I could not return the wig or get a refund for THEIR MISTAKE. I am so disappointed with the customer service and wish the store allowed the customers to pick their own new packs to avoid mistakes like this. I am happy with the other two wigs, but never-the-less extremely disappointed in the customer service, wasted money, and the attendant's lack of attention to detail. Customers - make sure you look at the new wig packs that the attendant grabs from the back of the store...and compare them to what you actually tried on as the right wig. read more
