This…read moreinvolved one of the library staff members who was talking with two of his friends that were visiting the library. This library isn't known for being quiet by any means so I guess that's why the staff member figured it was acceptable to have a prolonged conversation. Since I was sitting right next to his friends and there really wasn't any effort to keep the tone to a low level I heard rather surprising and disturbing news about the Bay City Michigan Library. One of the visitors was telling the staff member about the large amount of paperwork his does at his job. The library staff member said they do a lot of paperwork at the library also, his friends found this amusing and asked how paperwork can be overwhelming at a library. The staff member went on to tell his friends that the police are called in 8-9 each week to the library and this creates an enormous amount of paperwork. I'm not sure if the staff member was just trying to one up his friends but even if he exaggerated the numbers by double this was very concerning to hear. The staff member didn't go into any detail about the incidents at the library so I'm not sure what the severity of the events were. I just wanted to visitors aware that you might need to be cautious when visiting the Alice & Jack Wirt Library in Bay City, MI.

I was also given a tip on how to combine 2 letters in one envelope saving extra cost. The inside of this post office was striking. The building is very old and I was impressed at the beautiful architecture. Living where I did in Florida the post offices near where I lived were in extremely small storefront buildings. So you can imagine how awesome this beautiful building looked to me. I have been in 42 states and have used the local post office almost everywhere I went in those states, sending packages and letters from almost all of them. This post office was the most impressive place of all the other ones I have been. I would hope the customers of this awesome city really appreciate what great and friendly staff as well as its beautiful appearance.

The only downsides were that I left my library card at home and asked if my ID would work. She then insisted on issuing me a new card instead of me just driving home to grab it. It is a smaller location, so the selection isn't totally there. I will say that I have never really had to wait in line so that's always great.

I was not able to get a photograph of the bridge as as super aggressive driver showed up and nearly caused an accident. The bridge opened to traffic in 1987 and has been plagued with problems. Some related to poor construction, some due to unexpected weather and some due to circumstances beyond anyone's control. Its construction ran massively over budget and was extremely delayed. The bridge carries four lanes in each direction with breakdown lanes on both sides. As it's an interstate, there is no pedestrian or bicycle lane. There is no toll to cross the bridge. It is located 5 miles north of Saginaw, Michigan when traveling on south and/or northbound I-75. I remember as a teenager when traveling up north with my parents to our cottage on a lake near Lewiston... either in the Spring, Summer and Fall months, there were times we had to wait in line with other vehicles for the drawbridge to open up to let freighters pass under and then after the bridge would close so traffic could move on their way. Usually our wait time could be up to 15 minutes or less depending on the time of day and the "flow" of traffic on the river! :) Such a great memory before the remodeling of this bridge. Currently, a vehicle keeps on cruising up and over the bridge driving 75 m.p.h. on 75 with cool views out your passenger window on the right of the Saginaw River. Facts: Construction started: 1979 Height: 125 feet Clearance Below: 120 feet Total Length: 8,000 Longest Span: 392 feet It opened: December 23, 1987 ( In time for Christmas) Construction End: September 19, 1988 At times during the day or early morning hours one can see fisherman on the shores fishing for carp, crappie, largemouth bass, northern pike, smallmouth bass, walleye, perch and sunfish.

After two hours I came back and all the employees I had seen earlier appeared to be at lunch because there was only one poor girl calling people up to the window and they were ALL reserved appointments. A lady sitting next to me sighed that her number was next to be called; it had been for the last 45 minutes. If you have time to wait around, you're better off driving to St. Charles. They do get the job done once you are actually helped and get processes going fairly quick. Just make an appointment online and make sure you specify all the stuff you need to get done so you don't get everyone else's time pushed back.

They are always having classes and things for the kids. They have a DVD collection that costs $1/week to rent and the inventory isn't outdated. Bathrooms are always clean. The computers have a time limit of an hour and require a library card but if its slow enough you can get an extension. The wi-fi is subpar but other than that, this is the most you can ask from a small town library.
