I'm the type of person who rarely gets sick, but when I do I'm total baby - complete with crying and delirious dreams. My brother would immediately (and while panicking) send me to the emergency room and our first choice would always be UST Hospital.
PROS: I had this nasty viral infection a year ago. It had all the symptoms of dengue, except that my platelet count wasn't as low as it's supposed to be when someone has dengue, so it's technically not and it's just a viral infection. That's what the doctors at UST Hospital's Emergency Room diagnosed me with and they made me stay in the ward overnight. They couldn't give me anything though, since there are no antibiotics for viruses. So I had to ride it out while they'd occasionally inject pain meds and hydrating stuff in my IV drip. They actually diagnosed me quickly and cared for me properly, that by the next day, my signs were looking better and I was discharged.
CONS: It's probably an expensive private hospital, since you have to pay for everything, even the syringe or the basin you puke on. Thankfully, I have health insurance, so it covered most of the cost; I don't know if it's just a preconceived notion knowing that they *might* still be students or interns, but I found that when they inject me with a syringe, it's more painful and they take more than one try to get to the vein.
TL;DR: UST Hospital is a decent private health provider that has really good service and modern facilities. read more
