Kevin came in with a really competitive price and since he was local we made the decision to give him a try. A down payment was made for him to get started on the site and he gave an estimated time of completion within 2 weeks. Weeks went by and Kevin continued to promise that the site would be completed by the next week or the week after. This went on for 14 weeks. I began doing a deep search on him via Google and discovered that several other companies had taken him to court over the same issue. After contacting the local police and attempting to recoup my deposit back I then asked Kevin to show me what he had accomplished on the site. He continued to avoid my requests and promised to return my deposit. Unfortunately, the cat and mouse game began all over again and he kept promising me that he would return my deposit next week, and then the week after and so on. I had already figured out that I was being scammed so I hired another developer who completed the site in 10 business days. I decided to stop the pursuit of my deposit and posted my experience with him online. He then began to post negative comments about me and my company online and I had to hire a company to have those comments removed. I own the mistake of hiring Kevin Burke. I performed the background check on him AFTER I gave him my deposit and allowed him to access my website on GoDaddy. It was a costly mistake for me and my company and I hope this feedback will save other business owners from experiencing the same grief.
