I'm not sure what happened to this place. It used to be decent. I've been twice in the last month (both at request of other people planning) and I was disappointed both times. I ordered the chicken vermicelli bowl both times, which had been my go-to during previous visits. Both times I asked for no bean sprouts and bean sprouts were in my order. Both times the chicken was so rubbery it was inedible. The first friend that I went with had the tofu vermicelli and also had issues with hers. The waiter was not helpful in correcting issues. The second time I went, I thought perhaps it was just an off day. Nope. Rubbery chicken, bean sprouts, and just meh vermicelli bowl. My friend ordered spring rolls, egg rolls, and crab Rangoon for the table and the only one we finished was the crab Rangoon. The waiter never came back to the table after dropping off food. We waited and waited and finally approached the counter for our check. They did not give us an itemized receipt, just a total and asked for the credit card. When I asked for a copy of my receipt, the cashier would only give me the credit card receipt. Not sure if there had been a change in ownership at this place, but I definitely won't be going back. There are much better options for Vietnamese food in the area. read more

We had Pho and spring rolls. The place was packed so we thought it was going to be good. The shrimp in the rolls tasted really fishy and the flank in the pho was green. Our waiter left his shift without telling us someone else would be taking over. When we asked for our ticket, the staff were looking for our waiter it was my mom who noticed he left when she looked out the window and saw him get in his car and leave. Being that this is the only Vietnamese joint by Deerbrook Mall, it's easy to see why they would get fairly good reviews. Stick this place in the middle of midtown? They wouldn't fair so well. Corner spot in the Kroger's parking lot is a great location. This is made apparent when you go in to catch a quick bite and you have to share a table with a stranger because there is no seating. That's alright though, gives you an opportunity to meet some interesting characters and share notes on the food. My go to for V Bistro is the beef rice plate or the pho. Both being of an adequate size and quality. The beef can be tough and rubbery which is why I've never had an interest in the bahn mi's. I suppose the meat is more tender in the soup because its been saturated. When I lived closer to the area my diet consisted primarily of their egg rolls. As stated before there isn't much competition in the area so I usually came here to get my fix. Their lunch specials are dabomb.com. Mega affordable and gives you a chance to appease your inner junkie. Best bet if you're feeling a touch demophobic or you're not lookin' like your usual fine self, call in for take out. Takes about 15 minutes for them to get everything ready. Just make sure if you ordered more than one drink you have an extra set of hands because they don't have cup holders and you could be bathing in your bubbly beverage trying to get out the door. 2 star food -- extra star for location. read more

Who rated this place 5 stars, and what on earth did they have? Worst spring rolls ever, wouldn't be an understatement tastes like it was made last week simultaneously gummy and chewy, 100% gross. Fishy overly soft shrimp no mint, slimy noodles, my Krogers in BFE makes better quality spring rolls. Hoisin & peanut butter dipping sauce?!? Next up the bun, the smallest portion of vermicelli noodles I've ever seen, coupled with huge chunks of yellowing wilted lettuce clearly from a bag. Cheap Thai poor quality posing as Nuoc Cham, this place cuts corners everywhere. Grilled pork was merely adequate, probably the only thing half decent I ate And worse, they're expensive too. Seriously some of the poorest quality Vietnamese food I've ever had, easily the worst spring roll I've ever had. Total fail, skip this travesty go to the far more authentic place down the street by the walmart as it's worth the drive. Among the other pho places in the area, this is the better one. The pho ga (chicken pho) is normally what I get with white meat. And the spring rolls are ok (they are kind of a hit or miss). I like their vermecelli with egg rolls and their pork with rice. Since this is the only viet place around, I normally go there for a fix when I'm too tired to drive into the city. I also ordered their vegetables with rice for my dad once and he really liked it. (it has tofu in it too) The staff is really friendly. It is pricier than most other viet places. Being the only Vietnamese restaurant in Humble that has been consistent with their extensive menu selection, I find myself coming back often to try all the dishes V Bistro has to offer. Today's visit was quite different, I came in on a weekday lunch rush to find a few tables occupied. Not a big deal, the number of occupancy shouldn't determine the quality of the food because I never expect this place to fall short. When my pho tai chin arrived to the table, I've never seen a bowl of pho looking so sad. I honestly couldn't distinguish which meat was rare, and which was flank. They were all just brown, dry, and frail. The entire eating time, I couldn't help but question ... what happened to this place. Was in the area for work, so stopped in for lunch. Vermicelli bowl with egg rolls, was meh....the shrimp spring rolls were meh. Overall I would not return, or recommend this place. I also did not like how they charge you fifty cents for hot chili oil. Update: I came back because my friends insisted on coming try it. Again vermicelli bowl was meh, and I think the AC is not working because it is hot in the dining room, enough to where I'm sweating. I came here once when we first moved to the Humble/Atascocita area in 2012 and vowed never to return. Our order was wrong and the waitress was very rude and inattentive. We ordered combination pho and added meatballs. We never got our meatballs and she got an attitude whenever we said something about it. I didn't really care for the pho either (the broth wasn't good). For someone who grew up eating pho, I would rate V Bistros as below average. I'm not sure if my decision is biased because of my experience, but I for sure have had way better. Fast forward to 2018. I was craving beef vermicelli one day last week and V Bistro was conveniently located to where I was running my errands. Hesitant, but hungry; I decided to give them a second chance. I placed my order to go and waited less than five minutes. It was pretty good... not the best, but still pretty good. It definitely fulfilled my craving. I'm giving them three stars because of their grilled beef vermicelli and improved customer service from my initial experience. I won't go out of my way to eat here, but if it's convenient and I'm craving beef vermicelli, I would stop in again. read more

I've been here before and had good experiences. However, the most recent visit was just terrible. I ordered the veggie pho and the wife had the spicy beef pho (both orders to go). Her soup was fine, but I found a balled up paper towel in mine. I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, but I find that hard to do here. At first I thought it was an oddly shaped piece of tofu, but then realized what it was after moving it around a bit. The paper towel was underneath the mass of noodles at the bottom of the bowl, so I find it hard to believe it was dropped in there by accident. How do you not notice a paper towel in a bowl that should be empty? Anyway, my pho was replaced but they didn't even offer to make up for the inconvenience of having to make two trips, or eating out of a bowl with a dirty paper towel in it. As much as the pho was decent considering there's really not a heavy influence of Vietnamese culture in Humble, Texas, I'd say this was "ok". My best friend loves the place, but I only give it a 3/5 because 1. I live near Westminister, 2. the food was very mediocre, and 3. it was more Americanized than authentic due to the lack of Vietnamese influence in the area to accommodate the people there. We ordered the SHRIMP SPRING ROLL (2 each) and EGG ROLL (2 each) and then both got the grilled beef which came with a scoop of rice and a "veggie side" (aka grated carrots). With that said, it's not horrible, but best in the area, so if this is your only Pho fix, it'll probably be enough for you! :D read more

Came here because I passed by this place after getting my haircut. This place has awesome pho tai and their banh mi is good too! The prices are average but I saw a sign for their lunch specials start at $4.99; not too shabby! I would come back here again because its comparable to Bellaire pho without the long drive! read more

Stopped here for lunch today. I loved the lettuce wraps. Very fresh tasting and flavorful. So much better than the heavy sauced wraps you get at Pei Wei. Also had a bowl of Pho with brisket. Wonderful flavor and the meat was very lean and tender. The only reason I only gave it 4 stars is because I was seated elbow to elbow with two other groups...which thankfully left before my meal arrived. Also, I know it is the heat of the summer, but it is always stuffy in the small dining room. The food is fresh and very good, service is quick and it is a great value for what you get. read more

The service was awful! Not sure if this is due to a language barrier or what. We sat down within 30 seconds and the waiter asked for our order. I kindly told him we were not ready and he walked away. Once we are ready to order we call him and he writes the order in his pad and walks way. He doesnt crack a smile or acknowledge our presence. We ordered combination fried shrimp and beef, it was extremely greasy and the only thing that had flavor was the beef itself. We also ordered beef pho and the broth had little to no flavor. It was underwhelming. The only thing that was okay was the banh mi which my husband ordered. My kid couldn't even touch her meal and I couldn't even blame her. I work in humble and my manager would always get me the spring/shrimp rolls from here and they're pretty good so I decided to come for lunch one day and I wasn't too blown away. I ordered the tofu vermicelli and it had an average portion but I couldn't help to notice how it looked like pho rather than vermicelli because the noodles were too soaked. The customer service sucked. My server never once came around to ask if I needed anything else.
