V Cafe is a tiny, beautiful restaurant with many vegetarian options that are made with care, using fresh ingredients. The proprietor is delightful, friendly, and warm. My wife ordered the Pesto Breakfast Sandwich, which is a favorite of hers. She likes her yokes hard but, otherwise, they're served more custardy. I ordered the Veggie Delight sandwich, which was assembled on two thick slices of lightly toasted bread. It includes creamy hummus made in-house, avocado, tomato, cheddar cheese, yellow bell pepper, red onion, and romaine. It was epic, and everything was bright, crisp and fresh. My sandwich also came with a simple green salad and a stunning balsamic vinaigrette. It wasn't too sharp, or sweet. We both got iced Americanos. I'm no coffee snob or expert, but the coffee I enjoy the most allows the natural sweetness of the beans to shine. It happens rarely, but here they've got it figured out. Prices are reasonable. They have home made cookies and soups, too. I'll be going back real soon. read more

I've had this spot a few times but forgot about them for a bit. I remembered them when I passed by a few days ago and had them again for the first time in a bit and they're still so delicious! I initially found them on Yelp and I'm sad I forgot about them lol. I always order coffee and bagels/desserts here and everything here is always a 10/10. One day, this place is going to be on a Michelin list, have thousands of 5 star reviews, and there will be a huge line out the door. What a hidden gem! It's a quaint unassuming cafe where you order at the counter and seat yourself, but offers real plates if you are eating in (A+ for sustainability). The chef and owner is so kind, and makes everything in small batches and from scratch. Like soup? You will be in heaven here. Don't like soup? You will love soup after trying hers. The Harvest soup is full of flavor and thick with good ingredients, not thickeners. The barley soup is deliciously brothy and full of veggies. The cream of tomato was also full of flavor and complex, and not heavy like other cream soups I've had. I can't wait to try the cream of mushroom next! You can taste the love, quality, and expertise. I love their V breakfast sandwich as well. Oh, and everything is vegetarian! I'm not vegetarian, and had no problem finding something I wanted on the menu, and didn't miss meat at all! I loved the cute cozy ambiance and the lady working there is so nice and welcoming it felt like visiting your auntie's shop. I had the lavender earl grey cookie and seasonal raspberry white mocha latte and they both tasted as good as they looked. She drew a cute lil pig for the latte art and the cookie was the perfect texture a little crisp on the outside and soft on the inside! First time here, my review is based on the chicken pesto I ordered for lunch a few days ago. Wish I would've taken a picture but I was heading back to work. This so called sandwich was made with a frozen chicken patty. I would not expect that whatsoever given that I paid almost 16$ for it. In that case I could've just gone to jack in the box and ordered their cheap chicken sandwich instead. Disappointed! read more

The service was amazing. Very nice and friendly. Helped me order a coffee per her recommendation. The place itself is cute and has a few tables. The coffee was amazing. I will be thinking about it for a while. I ordered a sandwich as well. It had half an avocado in there. A large avocado as well. I've never had that much before in a sandwich. And a sandwich for twelve dollars. Absolutely amazing. I will definitely be back. It's hard to find good vegetarian food so I'm so happy to have found this place. read more

Delicious food; if you want a quick on the go, light lunch kinda place and happen to be in the area, this was perfect; we were at all day retreat and wanted something light, vegetarian, but not too pricey. In these times it's getting to be a challenge to post reviews fairly correlating the price of the meal in fair proportion to the size. I had the pesto breakfast sandwich which was light, yet filling; somehow I think it might've had about an inch more in its circumference about 3 years ago . The size of the Vietnamese coffee (which I love and picky about) was $5.80 for one size; you can get a larger and more flavorful Vietnamese coffee just two doors down for $6.80 with cheese foam at tea topia. But all in all, this place was perfect for on the go brunch/ lunch at a reasonable price even though the sandwiches could be a little larger for the price. read more

Very straight forward cafe with a variety of coffee drinks, sandwiches, salads and açaí bowls. Staff was all about being attentive and quick service. Place was wide open for business on this quiet Tuesday at 12:00 noon. We got two salads - Asian one and Beet with candied pecans one. Both delicious albeit a little simple. Felt like the dressings were mass produced not made in house. That said, I totally salute the owners for putting a plant based spot in this location. Came in on a Monday morning and had no trouble finding my own table to work at. They also have additional tables outside as well. Appreciated cleanliness of the store. We came in to get a cup of coffee and while we were there the owner told us that they make their soup and bread in house. She offered us a soup sample that she had made that day - Barley Vegetable - it was so good! That encouraged us to stay and ask other questions about the menu and before you knew it we made a lunch order to go! The food was so tasty and the bread you can't beat! We had a Mushroom Havarti sandwich and a Grilled Cheese and upgraded our sides to two different kinds of soup and it did not disappoint. The Americano I originally came in for was excellent too! Great service, very cute eat-in restaurant and the food was incredible! Vegetarian or Vegan (or neither!) this is a must try! read more

Wow! This place is amazing! Walking in it feels like entering a European cafe. I got the Spiced Coffee Cola and their homemade chai just woke me up with delight! I also had the pesto breakfast sandwich, which had a large tomato slice and was so fresh and so yummy. Service was friendly and accommodating, helping me find the best drink for me. Nice vietnamese vegan coffee shop. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed everything. It is a bit small inside, so if it's too busy it might be cramped. Parking is not bad. All of our food & drinks were wonderful. Can't go wrong here. They are also very accommodating and didn't up charge us for substitutions in the sandwiches. read more

New Vegetarian cafe in my neighborhood! I've been here a few times now for my morning brew, and the coffee doesn't disappoint. The açaí bowl is very filling, and the base itself is sweet. (compared to some places with bitter açaí.) The avocado toast is well portioned as the bread slice is quite thick and can be good for sharing. The shop overall is very clean and spacious, and offers outdoor seating as well. Vegetarian is their audience that they are catering to but they have a couple vegan options/substitutions. As noted by the employees, the avocado toast on brioche bread can be substituted for un-buttered sourdough, and the Hearty asian salad does not contain any animal products. As for the coffee they offer milk substitutions (almond, oat, soy) This small local business is having a soft opening till June and offer a 10% discount. Their hours are currently 8am-3pm daily, but in June they will be open for an additional couple hours. For a soft opening, I have been satisfied with my experiences and look forward to seeing the business grow. read more

This place just opened, and they're great! We've stopped by a few times- their vegetarian sandwiches are great, and their breakfast sandwiches are also really large and hearty. The owner is really friendly and kind and is always making new recipes! But my favorite thing is their cookie selection. My favorites are the Earl Grey cookie and the pecan cookie (pictured here). The cookies are huge and delicious and made fresh multiple times per day! It's a really cute little vegetarian cafe, with seating where you can chat or get work done both inside and outside. The folks who work there are welcoming, and it has a very laid back vibe. read more

I’m a vegetarian and I would like to introduce fresh, homemade vegetarian dishes to people in south California and to other vegetarians. In the beginning, I worked as a cake decorator. Later on, I took on the jobs of a baker and then barista. Since 2013, I’ve longed to work at a cafe where I could use my knowledge that I’ve built over 10 years. I also wanted to work at a cafe/bakery with flexible hours so I can support my two kids. Working at V Cafe helped me embrace my passion of cooking, baking, and making coffee. I hope that my vegetarian menu will be welcomed and enjoyed by all people who are seeking healthy foods and healthy living.

I got the Spanish latte and it was pretty yummy. The coffee wasn't too strong or bitter. The employees were friendly and the shop was clean. Can't complain! Yeah I'll come back when in the area!

Indoor and outdoor seating is available, and the staff member brought my order to my table, which was a nice touch for an order-at-the-counter cafe.

We tried asking her if we could add cold foam or sweet cream to our drinks to make them sweeter, and she said it was only available on seasonal drinks. As an avid matcha latte consumer, this made zero sense to me. While I don't blame her bc she likely had nothing to do with that decision, she wasn't kind in relaying that information or trying to help me find something on the menu I may like. Her demeanor remained the same when my friend ordered his drink, and we both felt a very negative energy coming from this woman, simply put it didn't seem like she wanted to be there taking our order. This was around 1pm last Saturday (the 21st of March), so they had a decent amount of customers, but it wasn't some crazy morning rush. Forward to the drink : we grabbed our drinks which came out promptly. I tasted my matcha and just as I suspected due to the lack of sweetness, it just tasted like grassy chalk. I assumed that my friends latte would be better, as matcha can tend to have an earthy taste to it to begin with. Then I tried his... chalky and sour. Due to the lack of customization and the barista's attitude, we just took a couple sips and tossed our drinks. It was a super negative experience for a place I really really wanted to like. I think allowing people to use sweetener and cold foam on more than just seasonal lattes would be a great first start, and perhaps training the staff on appropriate customer interaction would also help. Loved the branding on this spot, but it seems like the people who work there don't want to be there and it really put a damper on the experience, and for a place so cute, the drinks and vibes should be top notch.

His attitude was immediately hostile for no reason. When I calmly told him he was being rude, he responded sarcastically and then escalated the situation by yelling at us and saying "f*ck you" before walking away. I was honestly in complete disbelief. That is unacceptable behavior from anyone, especially someone working in customer service. If you're in the area, you're better off going to Stereoscope Coffee down the street. The staff there are friendly, welcoming, and they don't curse at their customers. Philz seriously needs to address how this location treats people, because no one should be spoken to like that just for picking up coffee.

I absolutely love this coffee shop! Not only is it a great place to study because of the cozy…read moreambiance, but the service is always wonderful and their hot herbal teas are so good. I came here often while studying for an exam, and it was the perfect environment to stay focused. Being surrounded by other people working and studying really creates the kind of atmosphere you need to get through long study sessions. Definitely one of my favorite spots to spend a productive afternoon.
