I might have been lucky but the first person to whom i spoke was the delivery supervisor. I had a pleasant talk with Shannon. She advised me what my best options were and stayed with me on the phone while i looked for the email. She called me back on the number she read off of the caller id box to find out if i received everything i needed or had additional questions. Ok, not sure about you, and this does not include the crew at both of my postal location stores, but its really rare to find this kind of help and assistance in California. "Nobody got time for that!" It was my unexpected delight for the day and maybe the week.

The male employee was still organizing his money/stamp drawer at 9:05 AM instead of being ready for business at 9:00 AM. Female employee had left her window then returned with a man I assume to be her supervisor. She started telling him she "was tired of being pulled off her job to do other jobs all the time and tired of everyone else doing her job" in a voice loud enough to clearly hear. She then changed her open sign to closed. Another male employee was standing behind the windows. I finally asked if they were going to open for business or not and ended up leaving at 9:06 without anything being accomplished. When I left the female employee was still voicing her concerns to her supervisor. This is very poor customer service especially for employees of the Federal Government.

Today I'm standing in a line of 6 customers ahead of me and two clerks. Well, as soon as I'm the last customer in line the clerk leaves and puts up a sign. I'm aggravated but wait patiently for the one clerk "Harold" to finish. It took him some time with his customer and he even looked around to see what happened to the other clerk. Finally I get to , Harold who is pleasant as always and the line behind me swells to 7 people quickly and he needs help. I think the first clerk shouldn't have left at all when customers are waiting. This place is clean and like most it has no public restroom, but it does have a ramp on the south…read moreside for wheelchairs. The post office is open 24/7, but the window is only open 8:15-11:30 & 12:30-4:15pm. The clerk's are not very friendly but more of matter of business like. They get you in and slowly out..if you find yourself in a line, you'll be there for awhile, they get in no big hurry. This post office is closed on weekends, but if you NEED a postmaster on Saturdays about 10 or so miles west of Watonga is the Fay Post Office and they're open 11-1pm on Saturdays.
