No matter the time or situation, whenever I called, Kira was there prompt, attentive, and fully committed to helping me. Her reliability and dedication gave me a sense of comfort and security during a very difficult time in my life. What sets Kira apart is not only her professionalism, but her genuine compassion. She didn't just do her job she cared. She made sure I was comfortable, supported, and never alone in moments when I needed reassurance the most. Kira represents the very best of what healthcare should be. Her kindness, responsiveness, and unwavering support deserve recognition and deep appreciation. I am truly thankful for everything she has done for me. Thank you, Kira, for your outstanding service and for the heart you bring to your work. You made a difference I will never forget. Samuel Adam

I want to be very honest with this review of Loyola University Medical Center…read more We arrived on Easter Sunday night after being transferred from another hospital, and I was truly grateful we made it. The ICU staff on the 2nd floor were exceptional--kind, professional, and attentive. They consistently checked on us and treated both patients and family with care and respect during a very difficult time. However, after a few days, we were moved to the 3rd floor, and the experience changed significantly. During overnight hours--around 2 AM--the environment has been surprisingly loud. I heard staff using profanity, watching videos or news on their phones at high volume, and openly complaining about long shifts. I understand healthcare is demanding, but this is a hospital setting, and patients (and their families) can hear everything. My relative is here receiving end-of-life care, so I stay overnight. At one point, a nurse questioned my presence rather abruptly before knowing the situation. To her credit, she apologized once she understood, but in moments like these, a little more compassion upfront goes a long way. One of the nurse was rude and jist keep using profanity and stated this is who she is. Wow, Loyola use to have professional nursing staff, what happened? I also noticed interactions where staff spoke to patients in a very casual, sometimes inappropriate tone. Maybe I'm a bit old-fashioned, but professionalism matters--especially in a place where people are vulnerable, grieving, and trying to find peace. My takeaway: There is clearly a strong, compassionate team here--as seen in the ICU--but consistency matters. Professionalism, awareness, and respect should be maintained across all floors, especially during overnight hours. Hospitals should feel calm and supportive, not loud or chaotic. Patients and families deserve that--especially during life's most difficult moments. I will give a 4 star due to our first encounter here and the kindness nurses such as Nicole and Quand and Jordan. Very kind d and attentive. And I just heard 2 nurses use profanity to another nurse. I am sincerely flabbergasted that they speak like this so openly and there are patients present in their rooms. The level of unprofessionalism is amazing, and i am really saddened by this as this hospital was once top hospital. Being part of the joint commission will definitely reflect not only my review, but how I move forward. This is really upsetting me.

Loyola has the best Head and Neck Team. I had Radiation and chemo to kill any remaining cancer cells but today I am alive and can swallow, chew and eat! Two highly enthusiastic thumbs up!…read more I saw Dr. Jones today to ask about getting my tonsils removed. I've seen a lot of doctors in my life, and this might just have been my best doctor visit ever. Dr. Jones has the kindest demeanor you could ask for, and was extremely thorough in the warnings and information he gave me about the procedure. I actually felt like he listened to me and genuinely cared about my concerns and about my health. This is the kind of doctor you always wish you had. I'm actually kind of excited to come back for my surgery in January! How often can you say that?!? In short, if you're looking for an ear nose and throat doctor who is kind and competent and will treat you like a human being, look no further. This is your guy.

We were not informed by Dr. Jones or his staff that we would be charged for this 1-minute look in our nose. I repeatedly called Loyola and Dr. Jones' office to no resolve. Dr. Jones did not inform us that looking at our nose would cost $1300 or considered a surgery. If he said surgery I would have stopped right there and said no, I need to talk to my insurance company. I did ask him why since we had CT Scans why couldn't just look at that. He runs up the bill with charges we were not aware of. He will not return all phone calls. His office states the doctor has no idea that there are charges for various procedures. I'm questioning if this is a violation of the False Claims Act but Dr. Jones has not returned my calls to discuss this.

After reading the reviews I didn't want her at Riveredge, but the hospital staff told me that Riveredge was the only location that had an available bed. Both my daughter and my experience with this place has been horrible. My daughter is currently there as I write this message. Her being there has kept me up at night. my daughter has gotten into two physical altercations and my daughter is not a fighter. She told me that a girl just walked up to her, punched her in her face and jaw, and it was swollen and she was in a lot of pain. No one from the facility called to tell me that my daughter was involved in an altercation. I had to hear from my daughter when she called during their one hour phone time. I've left over four messages for her therapist. No one has returned my call. I've also left messages for the nurse and the doctor. I just want to get a status of my daughter because she's been there over 10 days. I have to call multiple times before someone will even pick up the phone in the adolescent unit. you phone just rings. And when I am talking to my daughter it's very loud and kids are in the background cursing and yelling. This place is very unorganized. There is no way the kids should be touching one another. My daughter says they're allowed to say whatever they want, which includes profanity. They're allowed to comb each other's hair. There seems to be no rules at this place. I don't know how my daughter could possibly walk out of here better than she was when she went in. This is not the type of care I had in mind for my daughter. I can't wait until she is released. no circumstances will we ever foot in this place again?
