There is an interesting education film about lavender production, if you can get see through their sales propaganda. Inside their are stills/distillery bins from the last 4 centuries, from the owners private collection to use this as a showcase. As you leave, you will be hit up by multiple sales people hawking their overpriced, luxury lavender products. What a total rip off.

I was recently in the cute town of Lourmarin (in fact several times!) during my trip to Provence…read more Lourmarin is a lovely small town and easily accessed by car from Aix-en-Provence and on the way to the small town of Bonnieux. Parking in Lourmarin is right in town and easy to negotiate and to access shops and restaurants. In the town itself, there are multiple awesome clothing/accessory shops as well as restaurants, and other types of shops. Lourmarin is a delightful place to walk around. While in Lourmarin, I shopped for clothing, jewelry (bijoux) and other items. One shop that stood out to me was DGL at 2 Rue de Temple (look for the white awning and racks of clothing outside the shop). DGL is just to the right of Cafe Gaby as you face that restaurant. Inside this cozy shop are loads of great unique and stylish clothing and jewelry (bijoux) for those who are bohemian in spirit and taste. I found wonderful items to buy in this shop including two hand-painted linen tops and jewelry which completely appealed to my sense of style. The lovely and very helpful owner was great to chat with as I was making my selections for purchase. Let me tell you what this shop offers to female shoppers you likely won't find in the United States if that is where you are from. I am constantly searching for boutiques like DGL here in the US and those places are very hard to find. I've always loved to color outside the lines so this shop exactly helped me do that. This is such a beautiful and historic property in the countryside outside of Aix-en-Provence with a…read morevineyard, winery, and tasting room on property. We attended a wedding here, which came with a few days of activities, including wine tour and tasting the day before. The young lady providing the tour and tasting was spot-on and gave a great description of the process they use, their grapes, etc. The wines were decent too. The tasting room, which is probably what most guests are coming to take part in was nice. It's a beautifully timber-framed room with many tables, lots of seating, and shopping options throughout. The chateau itself is stunning! It's large, with many rooms and very old doors. Every bit of it was incredible to checkout!! If planning a wedding, definitely give them a look!

However, the greatest treasure of all was the proprietor himself, Monsieur Wilfried Perichaud. We found his gentle civility most refreshing, and his wholehearted assistance to me on my fact-finding mission will never be forgotten. Our entire experience was so agreeable that I highly recommend a visit to this shop and its charming owner.
