Parking is a challenge if there is a basketball tournament going on (next to the Hive basketball gym). However, the place is very clean and things were constantly being wiped down while we were there. The person giving instructions was great! He was friendly and gave good suggestions with techniques. He was patient as well. There's a kids area. Looks like it can be rented for birthday parties. It was easy to make a reservation at Urban Tomahawk. We made it the same day. Highly recommend reserving a bay for a weekend night because it was starting to get busy as we were wrapping up our game. Now that I know what to expect, I would try it out again. The guy, that I assume was the owner, was really nice and went through a short training session with us. He showed us a few different techniques and let us go for it. You get to throw an axe and/or a tomahawk. I found that I excelled with the tomahawk. It feels like kind of an aggressive "sport" but it's great for getting some pent us aggression out, especially right now with the whole covid situation. We went at dinner time, so we had the whole place to ourselves. I highly recommend checking out Urban Tomahawk for a unique experience. The prices are reasonable and it's a lot of fun. I made myself a little less nervous about performing axe throwing with a Miller lite - served to me with a smile from Taylor (apologies for misspelled). We as a group ate catered in City bites provided by my boss whom was also here. We were coached up by our host Taylor, she educated us on the safety stuff and away we went. Of course I love competition - so we divided into 2 teams of 4 draft pick style ... My team ended up losing all 3 sets. Did I have fun you ask... Oh yeah. This was a fun team activity and I feel like our sports medicine team members enjoyed it. The bathrooms were spotless. The parking lot area is quaint...next door neighbors on the building is the cannabis store... So that was a nice fragrance in the area. Beers were as expected... High in Price... But I understand and didn't mind paying $5per for a couple Miller Lites... (You make your money to spend it how you want right?) Plus it was early Friday afternoon and I was off work!!! I'm not sure what the cost of the facility rental was and I do remember we killed some bottles of water as a group... But either way this was a FUN time and I am eager to get back. This was a ton of fun!…read more I have to admit, when you get there, you will wonder what you are getting yourself into. It's a very creepy place on the outside. Once you get in you will find a nice young man who will get you signed in and explain how to throw and axe. He was super nice and showed us all the different variations. I hit first try! Missed about five times after but eventually got the basic hang of it. I still didn't stick them every time but man I want to go buy a stupid axe now! Hah It's a great time and I can almost bet you will tire out before the one hour session is over. I imagine I'll be sore! But give this place a try and learn something new!

Pulling into the alley you find a fenced in parking lot with a large sign reading Angry Axe Throwing. Walking inside there is ample room and roughly eight throwing lanes. Cost to throw is $20/hr per person which I found pretty reasonable. The axe-pert that checked us in also sharpened our axes before showing us to a lane. We had the place pretty much to ourselves on a Tuesday evening around 5-6pm. I went here with a colleague who had never thrown axes before and she had a great time. I also learned some fun axe throwing games. Pro-tip: Angry Axe is BYOB if you want to bring a brew or two.
