As a dentist, Dr. Nashid is one that really listens to you and your concerns. I am generally a nervous dental patient, but with him, I am always at ease. A particular thing that I really respect about him is his "conservative approach" to dentistry. In general terms, this means that he isn't going to recommend you undergo procedures unless they are actually necessary. I recently had a routine cleaning at a different dentist (because I am away for school). I was told that I needed six fillings redone. When I came home and checked with Dr. Nashid, it turned out I only needed one taken care of. "hmn I shouldn't be asleep right now because I have another commitment and I just can't put my finger on it... and it's not work, it's something else..." And then you realize that you are supposed to be at the dentist getting your teeth cleaned in 3 minutes and that's why you feel like you shouldn't be sleeping off a mid-week bender? No? That hasn't happened to you? Then... my bad (I guess). Long story short - I called the dentist and said I would be late and they were totally cool about it. Then I showed up (looking/smelling like a hobo) and they were totally cool about it. Then I disallowed the cavitron 5000 from my cleaning and they were totally cool about it. The bottom line message I want to deliver to you in this review, is that I am never switching dentists again. Actually, that's not exactly true. I am never switching hygienists again. If Lisa moved to a different dentist office, I would move my records along with her. This was the most painless dental cleaning I have ever had. That statement is not a joke. I had not been to the dentist in 1.5 years, and there was a lot of cleaning that needed to be done; Lisa had brand new dental tools that she was delighted to break in on me. She was done in 45 minutes (I have historically had to break up cleanings into 2 visits) and when I inspected her work, I expected to see residual tartar and plaque because of the efficiency and painlessness of the service, but the cleaning passed the quality control inspection. I remain shocked by the quality of this cleaning and it has inspired me to floss more regularly, because I want to preserve the work that she has done here. This is my new hygienist and I hope that I die before she does (like... a long time from now) because I can't imagine finding another person that is this good at this job.

When I came to him, thanks to a recommendation I had sought from his son, also a dentist, who treated me at the Emergency Dental Clinic the profession operates, Dr Minkov took the time to listen to my concerns, and to outline several possible courses of treatment. In four subsequent appointments, I came to realize his skill - and never once did I feel any pain thanks to his skillful use of local anesthetic. Inevitably we seemed to be finished in less time than the appointment had allowed for. Dental costs for those of us uninsured certainly do not come cheap; but I'd judge his fees as on the more reasonable end of the scale. So I recommend him without hesitation!

Dr. Adibfar herself is nice but comes across as phony. 3 things especially bothered me: 1) When she was working on my mouth her hair was down and kept dangling onto my face. 2) She and her assistant kept placing their instruments on my chest as if it was a tray. 3) I experienced a lot of pain and sensitivity following my composite fillings (which I have had before and never had problems), so much so that for 2 weeks I couldn't eat or sleep without the help of NSAIDs and her only explanation was to hand me some free Advil and tell me it would decrease with time. 6 months later I still have sensitivity issues.

The staff is absolutely friendly from the receptionists (Beata is amazing and a good family friend) to the dentist and hygienists (Dr Chan really isn't bad at all, Dr Abassi is just as good). I find they have perfected their efficiency, barely need to wait to begin my appointment and the staff works so fast I almost forget I went that day. The staff seems to remain the same throughout the last 10 years which is very convenient and feels like a reunion every visit. My whole family goes to this dentist and despite us moving 5 times in the last 15 years all over the city, we always remained clients of theirs and don't anticipate to change for a long time.
