It has a porch where there are some tables and outside there is a small hill few meters away where you can sit and have a great view. They have lots of cakes and desserts. I saw they have also a soup of the day. Everything was quite good and fresh and the service was friendly. A good spot to sit and enjoy, especially on a summer day. On the downside, there were lots of birds that were a bit annoying. They were around us looking for food and they were also coming into the cafe when people forgot to close the door when coming in. There were signs everywhere to remind people to close the door and not feed the birds! But even so I found this cafe very nice!

Note that the wifi code they provide customers isn't the correct wifi code so you can't connect. Also, if sitting outside watch out for birds because they will attack your food.

The outdoor display of colorful chairs and warm blankets seemed inviting, so I headed right on in. The interior decoration is just as appealing, giving both a homey and modern look with candles at every table and black ceramic plates, contrasting with the sand-colored wooden decor. As is practically everyone in Finland, the café staff was warm and hospitable, being patient as I tried to shape my mouth accordingly to try and form the syllables to pronounce voisilmäpulla, or butter eye bun. I'm glad I was able to order one, considering they appeared to be in high demand and looked to be going fast as I stood on line! Among other Finnish favorites, there were also korvapuusti (cinnamon buns) and karjalanpiirakka (carelian pies). The voisilmäpulla was absolutely delicious, making me wonder if these are in fact, the best voisilmäpulla one can get in Helsinki, or even Finland (there appears to be no guide ranking where one can get the best ones, but if there were, I wouldn't be surprised if this topped the list). At the very least, they were the best ones I had during my stay in Finland. The bun was nice and fluffy, the cardamom giving just enough of a spice-twist at the end (excuse the slightly repulsive photo of the interior of the bun; I just wanted to prove how fluffy they were!). Thankfully, there wasn't too much butter to the point where the bun was soaked in the middle; it was just enough to give you the flavor but not the health consequences. Tea-selection is wide, and the rooibos was expectedly wonderful. A quiet and lovely hide-out on Suomenlinna, which would probably be a welcome sigh in the bustling summer season. Would love to go again!

It's right next to a small toy museum as well, which is super cute. They have some small lunch offerings (we had sandwiches and spinach pie) and a huge variety of delicious desserts and cakes. The food was good for the price (about 6€ for a sandwich), and the desserts were exceptional. It's a great place to stop and linger for a while with a pot of tea to take a break from sightseeing around the fortress. Sweet spot!

You can't find proper bagels anywhere in Helsinki and I jumped for joy when I heard about Brooklyn Cafe for the first time. I've been there several times and every time I hope for things to have improved. The truth is that the coffee isn't among the best in town and sadly the bagels are a bit disappointing. I've had both dry and soggy bagels there, as well as ones that lacked taste. The location is good, the place is sweet and they have WiFi. The service is very nice and there's a good vibe. Loved the three tiny and colorful tables they had outside during the summer. I really hope they'll improve their offering - I'm still willing to give them a chance!

On a recent visit when my sparkling wine either came out to the table not sparkly or lost it's bubbles while I wrangled an infant for a few minutes, they graciously replaced a half-empty glass of flat champagne with a new full glass full of bubbles. No questions asked. They have blankets/wraps if the air gets a bit nippy and beautiful views to boot. Among a group of terraces on this strip of sea-front real estate Ursula stands out for their service and ambience. I would give them more than 5 stars if I could.
