The stairs leading up to the tower can be a little cramped by space and other climbers. Keep that in mind and you'll be just fine.

We stayed 3 nights along the promenade in Salo. Lovely area, with great boutiques, restaurants and…read moreviews. For the most part, at this time of year it was peaceful both night and day. I found Salo (in May) to be one of my top 2 favorite towns around the lake (along with Malcesine, but very different feels). It didn't feel "touristy" like some other popular villages along the way, which I much prefer.
