I've been to all the Valle Luna's in the valley and this is by far my favorite one. I've been coming to Valle since my fam moved to AZ almost 20 years ago. Me and my bestie always get several things to share. My latest fav is the fundido meal. But I've had most of the menu and have never been disappointed. The service, especially at this location is always great. My most recent experience you can tell our server was a veteran server because she was near perfect. Drinks were never empty, chips overflowing, she was great. Writing this review and looking at pics from my previous adventures there is making me hungry. Brb gonna text my bf and tell her we need to go again soon! Really tho, try valle! Such great Mexican. This place remind me of home, back in Southwest Detroit to be exact Xochimilco Restaurant was the place to get the authentic Mexican cuisine and I'm excited to finally fine a place in the valley that can compare to them. The service was awesome thanks Marcus for your patience with this being my first time here and also providing some good drink and menu options... They have an extended happy hour 7 days a week almost but you have to definitely try the Chimichanga I had the shredded chicken with a side of queso. Excellent food and services, prices are pretty reasonable. I adore the basic salsa, and their chicken taco basket. Just outstanding. Fairly solid happy hour specials as well. Downsides ? Well.. Their combination meals are very good, but not great. Same statement as to their rice and beans. And don't take that as a negative, they are actually quite solid. At one time this was a good Mexican restaurant. This time it was terrible. I ordered flour tortilla chips. They came out burnt! When I told the manager I didn't want them burnt she rolled her eyes at me and brought me some that were soft and mushy. Then had the audacity to charge me $4.50 for a basket. I then ordered the Luna bowl with grilled chicken. That was not grilled chicken to be honest I don't know what it was. It was a disappointing dinner for all of us. read more

Confirmed our reservation three times in a week and they still forgot us. Had a party of ten and they gave our table to another group then shoved us in a corner with not enough room to breath. I've been going to Valle Luna for about 15 years, the food has always been great and the service great as well! This Thursday I went with my girlfriend and our waiter was extremely rude didn't greet us at all, I don't know if he was having a bad day or just didn't want to be our waiter, but being a bartender/server myself I know that you have to leave that at the door when you come to work. We usually order the same thing every time we come in and she's simply asked him not to have it in her order, same thing she ask every time we come in, he was very dismissive and disregarded it completely and had a really bad attitude to the point I had too ask for another waiter. We really wanted to leave at this point because the vibe and atmosphere was ruined... but we had a younger server wait on us named Manuel! He immediately came in made us feel comfortable like he wanted to be there had a great attitude and personality even was joking with us, long story short Manuel made saved our experience at Valle Luna and we will be coming back when he's working. Side note he wouldn't tell us what our original server name was which I respect but if you get a server that looks middle aged with a slick back haircut covering a bald spot, ask for a different server because he will probably ruin your experience there. read more

Valle Luna is one of my favorite Mexican restaurants around Phoenix. I've tried a number of their dishes and I've never felt like anything I've had there was bad at all. Most recently I simply went with the Sonora Todo sampler plate which is not on the menu. It's a huge plate and you won't finish the whole thing so share with a friend. It's got many taquitos and mini burritos and open face tostadas and rice and beans and a little bit of heaven. The service there is quick and even during busy times pretty attentive. The general atmosphere of the restaurant is family oriented although there is a bar generally I like to sit in the bar. The TVs are going and people are talking loudly so it's not a date place unless you both already know how much you like the food and are willing to wait to be seated. Any more, to get into a restaurant with good food you have to wait so I don't really see this as a negative in any way. Now that I'm writing this review I might go back tonight but this time I might go to the Greenway location. I like changing things up a bit. read more

Valle Luna has consistently good Meixcan food at a low cost. They've been around for a long time and their restaurants show their age a bit, but that's part of the charm. The food always comes out quickly and the portions are large. The last time we came here, I had a burrito bowl that was larger than what you'd get at Chipotle and at a lower price. The food was not good had fajitas, the steak was tough, beans dry and crunchy rice the few pieces of peppers I got had sat in oil for along time. The guacamole tasted like that disgusting 'wholly guacamole'. We use to like this place so while in the area we decided to stop in, worst mistake. With the raising costs of everything, when I do go out I want the best experience and food quality. Even though our service was the worst, we still tipped but only 20%. OK, the last two times I was there. The wait was ridiculous. I mean 45 minutes. I went there on my birthday and the service was ridiculous They sat us in a too small of a booth for our party and told us to squeeze in. Then when they brought food, it was cold. The plate was warm. The food was cold. Normally we have somebody who replaces the chips pretty often while we're waiting for our food that took 45 minutes to get. It's not the time that bothers me. It's the fact that we were ignored like he wanted nothing to do with waiting on a table with children. And my children are very well mannered no throwing food, or screaming but the waiter was mean to the kids. He didn't want to bring a booster seat and then on top of it every time I asked if they could refill My Kids water ignored it. I will drive out of my way to another valley Luna before coming to this one ever again. I'm only deciding to leave this review because the last time I went there to try to give them another try, it was a 30 minute wait We were waiting there for about over 40 minutes and found out that they gave my table to another person with my first name. Yelp for some reason deleted my review when I tried to make an update so now I have to redo it but my wife and I went to the Valley Luna on Bell Road. We were originally seated next to the busing station putting our table about 3 1/2 feet from the busing station. I feel this was very ghetto. I asked to be moved and was moved to a better location. We ordered tamales and Fundito dinner meals we put the order in and miraculously the food arrived in about one minute from the waitress leaving so clearly this food is not made on demand and it's just warmed up and that's a problem in my opinion for a Mexican restaurant that isn't a Filiberto's. I thought I would give this location a try the one on 67th Ave. and Happy Valley is not much better so unfortunately it was a shame on me type of scenario. It seems the owner likes to respond and try to refuse and make it out like the reviewer is full of crap instead of taking the review and making meaningful change that will improve the state of the restaurant. read more

I used to be a big Valle Luna fan but in the past two years their food quality has gone down hill. I ordered take-out tonight and it was cold. When I called to complain the manager said "It's cold outside, you can't just pop it in the oven?" I pointed out the cheese wasn't even fully melted and the green sauce was watery. I've been ordering this exact dish for over 20 years from this location so I know this wasn't up to temp. Plus there were two in the bag so they would have stayed warm for the 5 minute drive home. If I wanted to cook my own food I wouldn't have ordered takeout. So disappointing! read more
