While sitting peacefully in the pews, a woman who is part of the church staff approached me and demanded I take off my hat in front of the entire church and my family, creating an incredibly embarrassing scene.When I pointed out that this action was judgmental, another fellow nearby actually started using profanity toward me inside the church. What makes this a painful double standard is that other outfits, bare shoulders, and casual wear are completely ignored, yet I was singled out and essentially given the boot over a hat.To make matters worse, when I confronted the priest before leaving the property and reminded him of his own sermon from two weeks ago about not judging, he completely dismissed it and didn't care that his staff and churchgoers were swearing at families. Jesus taught that the House of the Lord is a place for the heart, and He never turned anyone away based on what they wore. Unfortunately, human tradition, anger, and institutional hypocrisy are prioritized here over the actual Gospel. If you are looking for a genuinely welcoming, safe 'come as you are' community to hear the Word without being policed and cursed at, look elsewhere.

This church always held a very special place in my heart, obviously, until this last Easter. As I sat trying to listen to sacred prayer, I was saddened. I did not feel the presence of holiness in the delivery of the prayers and mass at all. I just sat and listened, oh so sad. When it came time to receive the eucharist, I got up along with my son, and walked to the front of the church to receive it from the priest...I was crying...because the eucharistic ministers located in the middle of the church gave me the ugliest "go to HELL" look ever when I passed them up to walk up to the priest. WHAT? Go to HELL inside a Catholic Church? Really? Oh my GOD...with my precious son at my side???? WHO are these 'Eucharistic Ministers' anyway??? Walking out I could not help but notice that the stairway to the choir loft was impassable because accordion-like bars (the ones you see in New York City to prevent damage to store fronts) was drawn across the opening, along with a chain as well. WHAT? WHAT in the world does that say to anyone? No one allowed up in the choir loft to sing praises to God? Really? WOW. Just what in the HELL is going on with the Catholic Church these days anyway? I certainly hope they, too, are not going to HELL - since that was the disgusting, ugly, degrading message on the faces of their 'Eucharistic Ministers' wielded upon me and my son. I will never go back there again. EVER. OH MY GOD!!!! Such a DISGRACE to my GOD - and my son.

A deacon stated that she would pick up medication but, another deacon dropped off a check to me when I'm homebound and, the cost of the meds had risen by the time I received the check. A shed in a box does me no good. My house was never unpacked. My belongings were destroyed outside and, Pastor Scott nor, Pastor Scott could return my calls. I do not have the health to gather a couple people to confront them. Whatever you do unto the least of these, you've done unto me. Jesus They're all accountable to God for their negligence and acts of omissions.
