Bonnie Day appears to, otherwise, be quite new as it did not even show up on the map. We made it a point to stop in for a quick hydration break. 4 core beers to choose from along with 2 seasonal releases. There was a tasting paddle with 4 small glasses at 25 NZD, but we ordered a smattering of beers instead. Solid brews with a particular attention to detail. The owner was very keen on supplying some sleek, colorful informational cards to help us along our tasting journey. The IPA, my favorite, was a classic West Coast featuring an elcectic array of hops which were Taiheke, NZ Chinook, Moutere, Simcoe, and Cryo Riwaka. The Pineapple Head IPA at 7 ABV was one of intrigue on paper and only available as a pint. While this sounded promising with (US) Mosaic and highly prized NZ Nectaron, it tasted a little flat, not as bright as Nectaron would promise. A bonnie time was had though in equally bonnie scenery within the confines of the quiet, quaint town of Geraldine.
