The hotel is the hub of this community and is the most happening area every night of the week. There is good honest Australian pub food up for grabs, a decent range of beers and wines, and live music regularly. The pub itself is substantial in size and is a historic, heritage listed site. We stayed here as part of a winter special where you got a 3 night stay for the price of 2. The rooms were a decent size and had a very large and comfy bed (hands down the most important factor for me for a room). This is prime bed and breakfast accommodation as there is so much to explore in the day -wineries, breweries and more - and then a warm and inviting place to come back to in the evenings. It all makes for a great romantic getaway. There aren't so many accommodation options in Yarra Glen but you'd be hard pushed to find much better than the Yarra Valley Grand Hotel. Best hotel bed that I have ever slept in. Live music was great, the sort of music that you can enjoy while having a general chat with your mates over a pint of beer. It's one of the larger places to tour with a tempting gift shop featuring lots of goodies that are perfect to bring back to friends and family as souvenirs. They were generous with their tastings and gave us far above the typical amount. There wasn't one wine that I didn't enjoy but the prices are definitely on the high side so unfortunately I didn't indulge. I came here on a tour and this was our stop for lunch. We were served an absolutely beautiful feast (salmon was my choice) overlooking the green hills in a gorgeous and upscale dining room. I couldn't get enough of the bread and the full pour of wine to compliment our meal just topped off our wonderful experience.

To start off, we had lunch here and the dining area had gorgeous garden views as well as Yarra valley views. Very clean and decorated nicely with orchids and portraits. The food looked amazing and every bite was tastier and tastier. We had entrees, main food, as well as desserts. The beef brisket was aged for 17 hours and was so tender.The mackerel was surprisingly tasty and the eggplant was perfect. Perfect pairing with pickled shallots and mascarpone mousse. Their side dishes of Brussels sprouts and pumpkin was also quite tasty. Now on to desserts!!!! My favorite part of any meal. Let's just say the cappuccino cake with espresso and sweet & sour apple tart was equally superb. The apple tart looks like Snow Whites !!! Beautiful dish arrangement and the shortbread was good. Lime apple cinnamon cream was amazing. You open the core and there are even more yumminess inside. their cappuccino, cafe, and tea selections were good too. If I could I would give this place 6 !!!
