I took my dog to get an echo from VVC at Midwestern University after her vet detected a heart murmur. I was very happy with the care and service they provided. They treated my dog like their own and were very thorough, showing me everything and explaining things along the way. Blue Cross requested VVC come and do a heart EKG and ultrasound on 4/1/24 for Stetson, my service k9. Somehow they missed 5 yes five tumors directly around his heart and misdiagnosed him with stage 1 heart disease. I had been reporting a cough for 2&1/2 yrs and Blue Cross refused to do chest xrays because I would wait. He was my full time legal service k9. The girls from VVC were very pleasant but refused any info and obviously missed 5 tumors on his heart. On 11/2 he coughed up blood and 11/4 both VVC and Blue Cross had nothing available. Emergency did and a simple chest xray revealed what they both failed to diagnose. Stetson died on 12/23/24. There's no forgiveness or kind words for negligence and Dr James at Blue Cross decided to wait 5 days to relay report info to me. Today is Stetson's 11th birthday. I blame VVC and Blue Cross Veterinary Hospital 1000%. Do not trust them. I never should have. read more

We have our 15 yr old girl with heart issues, and our regular vet sent us to VVC for an echocardiagram. Usually, VVC went to our regular vet's location, but seeing them at the actual campus at Midwestern University saved us $$. It turned out to be the best decision we could have made. We were so impressed with Dr. Paige and his staff. For the first time, we felt we were being "heard by a Veterinarian" and involved in our dog's care. Not only did they take the time to discuss and explain her condition and follow-up results, they also offered us ways to save on her meds and reduce dosages that were not needed at the current level we were being directed to give her. I'm not sure if they offer regular pet care, but in the future, for anything that falls within their purview, we will definitely take our dogs there. Met Dr. Paige for the first time today at Midwestern University and I am so pleased that we decided to use the resources at Midwestern to care for my Cavalier Spaniel. These little pups are so prone to heart issues and I have know that Sammy had a slight murmur that had been confirmed a couple years ago by my regular vet. But today, Dr. Paige did the Echocardiogram on her while I could observe and comfort her. He explained everything as we looked at the screen. I know what stage she is and also know that I have the resources with Midwestern and Dr. Paige to keep on top of anything that occurs in the future. This does not mean that I will not continue seeing my vet who has taken care of Sammy for the 10 years of her life. But this gives me and my vet the additional information to be as proactive as possible if heart problems progress. My senior Chihuahua, Mijo, was seen by Dr Paige to rule out Congestive Heart Failure, because Mijo was panting for no reason, his recovery from walks was prolonged, (he lies down and pants much longer than his Chihuahua mate, Luna), and he always coughs when he gets up in the morning. It is a hoarse cough that is followed with some spit up that he swallows. Dr Paige tested his heart and found that he doesn't have Congestive Heart Failure, but he does have some heart valve age related thickening that is causing him to have some backup in his heart/ lungs. Because I am experienced in people Congestive Heart Failure, I know that this could possibly lead to heart failure in the future. So now I know where Mijo is in regard to his heart health. I am very relieved and will have Dr Paige check his heart again next year. When Mijo's blood pressure starts to climb we can then give him some medications to lessen the stress on his heart and help him to have a better quality of life for much longer. Office Manager is incredibly unprofessional, uncaring, and snarky. I had to hang up before the conversation got out of control, I waited a whole month or so to get my dog in who needs his heart checked as the vet heard a irregularity and he may have DCM where he could collapse and die at any time, I received a voicemail 9:01am to call back or they're cancelling my dogs appointment, I called back 9:06 and they already gave it away and the office manager has a attitude issue, I am astounded with this ladies unprofessionalism, telling me other dogs are in dire need but how do they know my dog isn't?!? that's the whole reason I booked his appointment he could collapse and die anytime and i'm trying to save him while I can! I have a newborn baby I cannot answer the phone on their beckon call but I had this appointment planned ready to go to tomorrow, but apparently my dogs health care isn't important to them and she wants to blame me for that. If you're looking for a vet cardiologist I would strongly avoid this place as it's clear their business practice is no good. I'll be taking my dogs care else where hopefully he lives long enough to make it to his next appointment else where. read more

Valley Vet Cardiology came highly recommended by my dogs neurologist, so this is where we went when her new murmur was found. The reception girls were very kind and empathetic to my distress and made the appointment process very easy! Dr. Paige and his staff took amazing care of my Fran and even let me join her in the room for her echocardiogram which was interesting to watch. Dr Paige spent a lot of time with us (almost an hour!) discussing her heart disease and luckily she didn't need any heart medications. He spoke and handled her so kindly the entire time and you could really tell that he genuinely loves animals and his job, not just treating her like another random pet to examine. He really explained everything so well and we came up with a plan for her future care so that she will be with me for many more years. I was extremely pleased with our experience with this vet and will definitely be returning for annual rechecks to see how her heart disease is progressing.
