We recently switched from Superior Propane to Value Propane and are so glad we did. They are awesome. Firstly, the office staff is warm, welcoming and helpful. As a company have the best rates going :) Superior kept increasing our rates and by the time we left, charged almost 3 times the price as what Value quoted. We are on automatic delivery - which means they come whenever they are in the area - therefore no additional delivery fee. The deliver people are respectful, careful of your property, and kind. Stay away! It took TEN months for them to fix my leaking propane tank which I was renting from them at $150/year and then they filled it back up and said I owed them the full amount to fill it up. Of course they were happy to let it leak despite proof and repeated emails. They have NO customer service and just stop replying to emails when they don't feel like it. Their manager Renee was horrendous to the point of saying I must be lying and it was leaking the whole time and then referred her back to the email chain started in January 2015. No apology. I cut all ties with the company, paid up and had the tank removed and happily spent hundreds of dollars to have a new tank and line installed by a competitor. Budget has been great and does what they say and does send you fraudulent billings. No Value is sending me new bills months later saying I owe them for a propane fill up AFTER they had picked up the tank, AND they want me to pay for late fees when I was waiting 4 weeks for their customer service to call back and feel I should have just paid my fake bill. They also send me a bill after the tank was picked up for another Full 14 months of tank rental on the same bill as the tank removal fee! It's ridiculous! Such an amateur shop but not like a cute mom-and-pop. This is more "we don't care" which is why they're loosing all business to Budget. They lost me but didn't have to. There are lots of alternatives...Use one... and NOT these guys. Came out to my cottage when weather was -20C, filled and then shut off the propane tanks. Provided no notification other than leaving a piece of paper somewhere (There is no mailbox). I have a propane furnace so very quickly the cottage dropped below 0C inside. They took no accountability, no empathy, no recourse, not even an apology, defensive, defensive, defensive. Terrible customer service starting with the owner and going right down the line. $700 in propane to get the cottage warmed back up for a week, so the pipes could thaw and $1000+ in damage to the plumbing, not to mention the stress and hassle. Stay Away, Use another company for sure! read more

A family owned business that does not care about there customers. If you do not use a lot of propane which we don't they charge you almost double what everyone else is paying. Same goes for the regulator and tank fees. The more you use the less it costs you so basically I may as well run my fireplace constantly even if I'm not home and it would cost me the same amount per year. So much for energy conservation. Also I had called early summer as my tank was leaning so they said they would come out and move it then fix the slab and straighten it out but to make sure the tank is empty. So during the summer I was having work done on the house so decided to move it myself and fix the slab to straighten it out. Called and advised them it just needed to be hooked up. Had to call 4 times to have them come hook it up and also advised them not to park on the driveway when they filled the tank as it was just paved. they parked on the driveway anyway. Was sent a bill for this hook up. Called and asked why they said oh we would have charged to fix the leaning tank anyway. Then advise your staff not to tell customers its free!! Also tank rental went up as I guess I did not use enough propane as well as propane charges were over 1.00 litre. Sparlings rate is .48 litre whether you use a lot or a little. Had to call I have since sent 4 e-mails trying to ask questions and was told by the person who answers the phones that she looks at e-mails then forwards them and not one had ever been answered. I have called and advised them to pick up the tank as I am not dealing with a company that nickle and dimes there so called customers. Oh and here's the best part pick up of the tank only costs 89 dollars plus tax. Go figure scraping ever last cent they can out of you. read more

Value Propane has the worst customer service imaginable. They charge you service fees for not delivering you propane. They charge you each time they deliver fuel at $13.50. We had So if someone in your area needs topping up on a regular basis they stop to check if you need fuel and if you don't you still get nailed the $13.50 for nothing. In one month we were charged $27 plus tax for nothing. The driver didn't even stop at our home as my husband waived them off because we didn't need fuel. Their drivers are unfriendly and the owner is rude and has no customer service skills whatsoever. No wonder their customers are dropping like flies. Switched to Sparlings just a few weeks ago and couldn't be more pleased. The drivers are courteous and pleasant. No delivery fees. And the prices are decent. read more
