A word of warning to folks who live in Skagit County. We took our new Honda CRV into the Valvoline Oil Change place in Sedro Woolley for a routine oil change. The changed the oil and filter and we headed home. Within 10 minutes all of the warning lights and alarms went off. We got the car to the dealership and they diagnosed the problem as the wrong oil and filter were installed. After a change of filter and oil things were back to normal. We contacted Valvoline and asked for our money back. After more than a month they denied any wrongdoing and refused to refund our money. Additionally they were extraordinary rude in the process. The lines at this place are always insane. I've been a valvoline customer for years and it makes zero sense why each oil change takes over 30 mins at a time. The only explanation for the long lines I can think of is that one of their team members has hit on me every time I've visited this location. I even told him I was engaged (which I am) and his response was "why don't you have a ring then?" I think if they spent less time harassing their customers and more time changing oil the lines would move much faster. I went in for an oil change on my 2020 Ford Explorer. The Next day, the skid plate under my engine came off on I-5 on my way home from work. I called them and they asked if I wanted to submit a claim. I said yes and was put on hold for 20 minutes. I called the Ford dealer in Burlington and they ordered a replacement assembly and installed it today. I am very disappointed in the service and lack of responsibility for the shoddy work. I've been to this location twice now. The first time it took over 45 minutes to move up in the line, with only 1 car in front of me. Both bays were open. Service techs were very friendly however. So today I came back and there were two cars ahead of me. I waited over an hour and a half this time. My actual service took 38 minutes. The employees seemed frantic and unorganized. One poor guy doing all the work jumping from one bay to the other, while the others joked around with each other. Seriously doubt I'll ever come back to this location. They either need to hire appropriate employees who do some retraining. One man shouldn't be running around like that while the others mess around. Let me start at the beginning, I originally went to Vavoline on Clearview in Elmwood about 6 months ago. I had a Honda odyssey van that I had the oil changed in 3 times prior at another place. I went to this particular one because it was next door to my work. The staff did not stand out and they asked me a few questions then went about their business. After a while one of the technicians comes to my window and tells me my oil pan plug was stripped and I had an oil leak. I told him I didn't have an oil leak before but he insisted it was already there, and what was I to do I had no proof. That van's engine was eventually overfilled with oil and is no longer with me. Fast forward until present day, I have a customer at my bar at work who just happens to be the owner of that very Vavoline so of course I mention the incident. He insist I give them another chance, which I do. So here is the review for the second chance. The staff was extremely friendly and the manager him self was called down to personally do my oil change. Very personable, polite, funny man. It took about 20 mins I got my receipt and was told all fluids, battery, and tires were checked. So few things my battery has so much corrosion on the terminals I can only wonder how it was checked. I was reviewing my receipt and I noticed it said conventional oil and I realized he never even asked me what kind of oil i wanted and I use high mileage for my 2008 Ford F150 with 250,000 miles. I called the manager who did the work and he said it does not matter but I imagine it does other wise why do I pay extra for high mileage synthetic? I have been coming here for the past 3 1/2 years. I hate paying that much for a simple oil change but pay for he convenience. It is fast however you have to check after by yourself! They always try to have you change the air filters, well I have noticed that they open the filter cage to show yo the filter then they don't close properly so next time the filter will be dirty and nasty. I'm tired of getting my tire caps "lost" I have the metal caps and every 6 months when changing the oil they never replace the caps. I also go the a mechanic just a block away, however I have to make an appointment and sometimes drop the car. I might as plan that always now, because I will not return to this particular Valvoline. read more

I went here the other day for a quick oil change. I have a GMC Acadia with around 5,000 miles. I'd read all the reviews and said "screw it, I'm going anyway" and I don't regret it. The service was thorough. The wait time was minimal. The cost was expected. The people were kind. The gentleman even showed me how to restart my "% oil life" in my new car. Usually an oil change is an oil change but this was was different. There were two women working, which helped really soften and brighten the experience. As with every profession, the experience improves with a more diverse group. Kudos! I'm usually a full-synthetic guy so always struggle with the high price of an oil change. A quick google search will usually pull up an easy $15 off (which I used). Very upset! Came here in the evening around 6:30pm there were four cars in front of me I waited for my turn no problem. They change my oil I'm thinking everything is fine i pay and drive off, remind you I have my 3kids in my vehicle, around 8pm my engine light comes on, we go to pop the hood and the dip stick is COMPLETELY BROKE OFF inside the hole!!!!! Now they showed me the dip stick up only showed me the bottom part I never saw the handle piece. We hook up our computers the car it says the air is going inside the car so obviously they didn't close the filter thingy all the way and I am very upset. And will be calling to speak with a manager first thing in the morning, will update y'all on how they handle this situation because my vehicle was perfectly fine before I went into this shop. UPDATE: went in check engine light was off the manager who was very nice just unfortunately unable to help my situation checked just to make sure the code for the light wasn't pending and it was fine my biggest problem was how was I going to get the broken dip stick out of the tube she said Valvoline doesn't allow them to do it anymore and suggested that I get a screw carefully screw it in the dip stick not to hard ( or I may poke a hole in the motor) and pull out the screw and dip stick however how am I a 5 month pregnant woman with no experience in cars at all going to do that. ( hints the reason why I even took my car here in the first place) also the new dipstick will cost around $4 she says. I personally thing they broke it they should fix it... I don't get how they are allowed to break thing but are not allowed to repair them nor pay for them to be repaired. Like I said the manager keary was extremely nice to me I just wish she could have been more helpful or offered more help towards repairing what they broke at the shop. The young men that go under your hood and mess with your air filter need more training! Twice now they have had no idea of the proper way to remove and reinstall the filter. Left twice with my filter being put back in WRONG! Which in turn caused problems with my vehicle running properly. After my vehicle stalled in the middle of the road and having 2 people help push it off the road I returned by foot to the store. I addressed the manager KEARY. She put aside what she was doing and went with me to my stalled car to look into the issue. Long story short Keary went above and beyond to find the problem. After almost 2 hours of messing with things she found the problem. This girl went and bought the part my car needed out of her own pocket. Telling me Valvoline would pay her back. Yes it was a sensor that was damaged. This young lady is amazing. She has outstanding mechanical skills! If she can't fix it...it ain't broke!!! Valvoline caused $300 of damage to my car, promised me that they would pay for the damages and then refused to pay or speak to me again. On February 20, I went to Valvoline for an oil change and fuel system cleaning. The oil change took the usual amount of time, but when it came time for the cleaning, the technician and store manager Keary had such a difficult time with the equipment that she continued to work on her car 30 minutes past her shift. At this point, 45 mins into a process that I was told would be 15 min max, a man takes over for Keary. He struggles with the equipment for another 30 or so minutes, stating that the equipment was on its last leg and that we were the last car they could use it on. He explicitly said that once all of the blue liquid moves through the tube and into the car, the process would be done. He took the equipment off when there was still blue liquid in the tube. He sent me off, and my car immediately had issues accelerating and my check engine light turned on. I took the car back to Valvoline where Keary cleared by check engine light and told me that will solve all the issues, sending me back on the road in my dangerous car. At this point, she also refunded me for the cleaning service, but not the oil change, despite the fact that I had to return to her location for a second time. My engine light came back on immediately - now not accelerating over 15 mph, I took my car to another shop. There, they let me know that Valvoline flooded my engine and caused a misfire, so they replaced my spark plugs and my ignition coils, totaling to $300. At this point, I started the battle with Valvoline. After leaving the shop, I called customer service again, explaining the damage they did to my car. That representative told me that they will give me a full refund as well as they $300 in damages that they did, they just needed to call me back with Keary, the store manager. When Keary called back, she treated me as subhuman and told me there was no possible way she would approve my request, when the corporate team said they would just a day earlier. I have continuously been calling corporate explaining that because of the damage they did to my car, my car couldn't be driven for days. Not only did I miss vital work shifts (I make so little, I am on unemployment, so these shifts were everything I had), I missed doctors appointments. A have a hole in my stomach that is currently requiring intense treatment, and I couldn't make it to the doctor in over a week. I had to reschedule all appointments to weeks from now, meaning I must continue to suffer because of the lack of care at Valvoline. On top of that, I did make the small amount of income I was supposed to this month, so I can't even afford my medical care now. I can't even afford food now. On top of that, I had to have my partner rent a car, as I'm too young, which was another $300 plus $300 security. In total, I spent $164.95, $300.43 and $658.22 - $1,123.6. While we will receive the $164.95 back, the lack of care at Valvoline is directly responsible for the $958.65 that I lost. When I explained this situation every time, the customer service reps are sympathetic and say they've marked the claim as urgent for the area manager, the only person who can approve my refund. After calling for 4 days and being told, each day, that the matter was market as urgent, today I was told that the area manager Laith Hejazi denied the claim and explicitly marked that he will not speak with me, even though he never spoke to me from the start. It's been 12 days and over 30 phone calls. I am at total loss. I have no money left for food, and I can't get the dire medical help I need. My check engine light is still on, as the service place said there was more in damages but I just can't pay even more money right now. I have been treated as subhuman over and over again and forced to explain my personal plight to complete strangers. TLDR: Trust a baby with a wrench before these people. read more

I went there to get a simple service of getting my belts changed. With no line, it took an hour and 1/2 to change the belt. They didn't have the size in stock so they had to go to the store TWICE to get different belts! They kept buying the wrong size! Then my belt would squeal loud enough to wake the neighbors every time I started my car. The first time I took my car back they said my belt was on right. I just needed to wait until my belt loosened up. After a month my belt was still making the horrible sound. I took it back in. They just said it needs belt dressing. That didn't work. I took it back in two weeks later. Every guy in the shop said that the belt was breaking my pulleys and I was going to need major mechanical work to fix it. Thank god I want to a real mechanic down the street. He tightened the belt and said "that should do it". It hasn't squealed since! A simple solution to check to see it the belt needed to be tighter should have been addressed. I'm not going back. read more

It's now going on 10:15 am. I have my baby in the car and have to sit here with the air on while I wait... Instead of giving an unreasonable wait time, they should try being courteous and telling their customers the truth that it's going to be about 30-45 minutes because now I am stuck! With two cars behind me and one in front of me and can not get out. I will not be returning back to this business ever. read more

Honestly one of the worst experiences I've had at a place getting an oil change. They advertise 15 minute oil changes. I was in line behind two people so that should be about 30 minutes or so. Over an hour later I finally get in (after the person who was BEHIND me having their oil change started before I even got in) and I told them I honestly have no money except for this oil change. I kid you not, in the same breath they started trying to sell me more stuff. Um.. still no. I couldn't get a new air filter so instead of at least brushing it off like I've had every other place do when I told them I couldn't afford it right then they just look at me like I slapped them and put it right back in. No fluids were topped off (my windshield wiper fluid was gone... and still is), and all but one were just pretty rude honestly. I guess if I'm "only" getting an oil change I'm not worthy of good customer service? Well at this point I will never go back to this location. read more

I have been coming here for nearly three years. When i started coming here, the service was great and the service guys were so nice and friendly. I don't know what happened because the same people no longer work here. The last two times I have come have been AWFUL!!! The first time I sat in line for over an hour after been told it would be 15 to 20 minute wait. I had to leave for fear I would miss an appointment. This time I showed up early before they open to be first in line.
