My husband had our GMC truck serviced the other day. Oil change and radiator flush. Two days later the truck over heats. When he looks under hood he sees there isn't any coolant. He puts some in and returns to store. They re-flush the radiator. And tell him that it also appears now we might have an oil leak. We have never had any problems with this truck. I stopped by because Midnight's maintenance message came on. She was over die far an oil change. I looked up Valvoline on Yelp. The closest one on my drive was at the Tangler Outlets, Pooler GA. Luck for me, it was on my travels home. I pulled into Valvoline, Evan immediately took care of me. Dude, you don't even have to get out of the car. The tan communicated well with each other. I knew who was doing the oil change. Who was topping off my fluids and checking levels. Even the guy who changed my wiper blades. All professional! Top Notch!! I gave 4stars because they didn't reset my oil change in the maintenance system and it came on just after I got back into Florida. I called the Toyota dealership. They recommended that I go back to Valvoline to reset the system. Something they should know to do automatically. Because I was traveling to SC, I Super at a Valvoline there to have the system reset. I was good to go. Now that I know to ensure that the system is reset before driving off, I'll try Valvoline in Pooler GA again. The staff at that location is excellent!!! read more

I've been waiting in line for over 30 minutes. Then when it came to my turn, they asked me if I'm doing an oil change. I replied yes. After a few minutes, looking under my hood, they said they didn't have my oil filter. They instructed me to purchase one and come back. What an inconvenience. I've been waiting for my oil change in the left lane for 40 min. When I asked if I should move my car to the right lane, I was told that the cars are " first come, first served " BUT all these cars are waiting five min In the right lane? I explained that I have been waiting for 40 min and if there is a problem, I can easily move to the next lane. I watched as people drove straight into the right lane. 5 min wait. the manager was named Dewane and again told me " you have to wait your turn ". But I have been here now for 50 min and others are driving straight in. Why can't I just go to the other lane. It's " first come, first serve ". I pointed out that the Valvoline on Waters moves people into lanes and before I could say anything else he yelled and said " this is pooler parkway " After 50 min, I was allowed to pull up. The lady who did my intake was very nice and apologized for the wait. She even agreed that I should have been moved to another lane. She should be manager, because she has the temperament and excellent customer skills. Dewane enjoyed his soda and told everyone his plans for the weekend and spoke nasty about me. It's amazing what you hear when the windows are done. I guess I'm nasty because I was next, time and time again but passed up. How dare I ask if I needed to move to another lane . The nerve of me. My family owns a car service center in Garden City and Statesboro. Silly me for just not going there. I am currently getting my oil changed in my Audi A4 because the signal came on in my car for a service. When I finally got into the garage for them to inspect my car I was rudely greeted by the manager name Renee. She asked me "How did I know to come to get a oil change? Did it say it was low or high in the settings" I was confused because I have never been asked that and I told her that it said I was due for a oil change in 45 days on my electric display in my car I am just here to go ahead and take care of it. Mind you, my car is sitting at 60,985 and the sticker says I am due for a oil change at 62,224. After taking out the old oil in my car I was told I only had 3 1/2 quarts of oil in my car and that worried me because I came in BEFORE I was due for a oil change and now you are saying it was barely any oil left. Mind you I am going by the sticker you guys put on my car because I always go back to the same place for my card so I can keep a record, so that is stripe one. After she explained that my oil is going out fast and that I didn't have a oil leak, I was recommended to getting a tune up, ok coo. Service is over and I was promoted to crank my car.. my car starts shaking!!! When I let both the associate know he say "I am not sure why it is shaking, was it not doing that before you came" WHAT DO YOU MEAN!! NO! After Renee gets back my boyfriend let's her know and he was rudely cut off with "I already know, the guy told me" Now we have been here for close to 2 hours and having multiple associates come and inspect my car which is making me nerves. All she is telling me is that they are taking out the new oil and redoing it.. I will NOT be back to this location. Poor customer service and lack knowledge for foreign cars. Also, Renee needs some classes on communicating with customer. How are you a "manager" and speak to customers in that manner? read more

My husband made an appointment at Kauffman Savannah Tire for 9:00 a.m. He picked that time because it was first available and so he thought he wouldn't have to wait hours. Well they told him that they had scheduled five others oil changes at that time also. It wouldn't be a problem if they had several bays doing oil changes, but no they don't. I used the Pooler location several times and for the past year I've used the dealership, today I decided to go to Pooler on my lunch break to get a quick oil change. They used to guarantee 15 minute oil changes. They used to offer screens where you could watch what was being done. I was told when I questioned why the wait time was so long and where the monitors were that they had been bought by a different franchise. Then I'm told the price and there's about a $20 increase from the last time I was there. I get home and my son notices the skid plate hanging loose under my car; when I had someone get under my car they found the plastic clips that hold it on had not been put back in so now I have to find new ones. We just moved here and I haven't set up an account at my Cadillac dealer yet and needed a few services done ASAP. They took care of everything in a timely manner and were very professional. I have nothing but great things to say about Valvoline on Tanger Outlets Blvd. Their team is friendly, proactive and very helpful. I arrived for an oil change today and they shared a list of other service recommendations with me to make sure I had a full picture of my car's health. They took time to explain each service and why they recommended, but they did not pressure me at all. They explained every step they were taking as they moved from one service to the next and kept me updated on how much longer I would be there. When I went to check out they asked if I had any coupons to make sure I was taking advantage of the discounts and promotions they were running at the time, which saved me a nice chunk of change at the end. I've lived here for a year and have been to them 3 times now for service and have had a fantastic experience every time. Highly recommend! read more

I was on a trip from Charleston to Savannah to get my kids and my car completely cut off once I got there. My wife was stressed and frantic. I opened the hood and the battery was smoking I walked around looking for some assistance and I went to valvoline looking for some help. I told the guys there about my issue and they immediately handled it. The guys at valvoline, Brendon and Matt, jumped to helping me get a brand new battery. Get this, I didn't have my car there, it was parked down the street still where we broke down. Those men walked over to get info, helped me purchase a battery at a way better price than Battery+, drove over with the new battery, replaced it, and disposed of the old one for me which had battery acid spitting out. The men were kind, professional, and down right gentlemen. I give them these 5 stars for representing the company as a company would want an employee to represent, and for genuinely caring about me and my family's situation. Thank you fellas. I've had my oil changed here 3 times before I was surprised to read the recent reviews about this place. My recent visit and I was unhappy about my experience. So first I arrived at 7:38am because online that said they open up at 7:30am in actuality the store didn't open up until 8:16am I was the 3 car in line I didn't get my oil changed until 9:30. The manager Renee had was unprofessional also this place doesn't honor discounts for the corporate office. I will never visit this location again. read more

About two weeks ago, my sister took my car to Valvoline for a full synthetic oil change. I was unable to do this because of work. I always use this location and have had good results in the past, but after she told me about her visit, I felt I had to call the corporate office. On the receipt they provided to her, it was indicated that all of the fluids were checked and were okay. Also, it showed that all of my tires were checked and were filled to max capacity, 35psi. The max for my front tires is 32psi and for the rear tires, 33psi. I know that my tires were all low, as indicated by my vehicle information display. I know that during cold weather or a cold snap the pressure in car tires decreases. The pressure in my tires was between 29 and 30psi for all and needed air. My sister told me she was in the vehicle during the oil change and says they did not check the tires or the fluids. I called the corporate office number to make a complaint and had to leave a message for someone to get back with me. The following day, my call was returned by a representative who identified herself as "Laura" from corporate and the call was being recorded. She said she had the manager online as well, from the Valvoline location I had visited. I explained why I was upset about the visit and asked why my receipt did not accurately reflect the services performed. The manager indicated she didn't have an answer, but would get with the team that performed my service. She asked if I could bring my car by that afternoon so they could check the tires and air them up. I declined, as I was at work. She apologized and said all the things you want to hear from a manager when given a complaint, and she seemed sincere. Although I appreciated her call and sincerity, I don't plan on returning to the Pooler location for my next oil change. I had forgotten about the experience until today, when I received a letter in the mail from Valvoline Customer Care. They thanked me for the recent feedback and apologized for the inconvenience caused. Included with the letter was a coupon for a free full synthetic oil change. I was not expecting that, but I do appreciate it. My advice: Make sure you watch the crew as they attend to your vehicle during your visit to ensure they do all they claim to have done, which is printed on your receipt. If not... then call the corporate office to lodge a complaint! We have to make sure the companies we give our money and business to are held accountable. read more

They accept third party oil that you bring in (like Mobil1), unlike two or three other places in Pooler who refuse to do it, due to "store policy." Been here three times so far, and every experience was positive. Yes, they recommend things that could be done (like a transnmission fluid replace) but it's usually something that is necessary. Best of all, it's fast, you can remain in your car, and keep an eye on what's going on. read more

I turned on my left blinker then my right blinker then the left again. She came back and said all was fine. Strange? No wait to get an oil change but asked to get my tires rotated and was told that there was a "lump" in my tire so they were not able to do it then was told I needed new tires ASAP even though they are fairly new tires.... went to the store I got my tires from to have them take a look and they said everything was fine and they rotated them for free, as I was backing up I was then told that my back break light was out even though I had just got my oil changed not even an hour earlier and nobody had notified me that it was out when they "checked" everything and said I was good to go. I went to get my oil changed for the first time in a long time at Valvoline because I usually go to the Toyota dealership where I got my car. The first time I had no problems and I enjoyed the convenience of it being close to my home. After a few days I started smelling a strong oil Oder through my vents. I've never had an oil leak and I've never smelled oil in my car. After a few days I decided to take it in to Toyota to get it checked. After they diagnosed it I was told that due to the cap not being put on the oil tank my oil pressure was low because the oil was spilling out as I was driving and that's why I was smelling oil! They quickly questioned which one of theirs techs did it and asked me and I replied I did not get my oil changed at Toyota I went to Valvoline. Thank God it was something simple as getting a proper oil change that included putting the oil cap on and cleaning the engine due to negligence! That could have damaged my engine! I take really good care of my Prius and that's why I have always taken it to Toyota. I thought it really didn't make a difference who changed the oil but now I see I was wrong. I will never ever go to Valvoline again. read more

This place is a ripoff. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! They charge $75 for a synthetic blend and $93 for full synthetic. You can buy 5 quarts of mobile 1 full synthetic and an oil filter for $31.99 at auto zone. There is absolutely no justification for their prices, completely absurd. Before you think it was the labor cost, on my receipt labor was $16. Please find somewhere else or do it yourself. read more

Well come to find out they didn't even change the oil filter in my car nor did they put seal on the plug so the oil leaked out. Wife took the son to get his first oil change. Wife says, "I need a regular oil change." She goes to pay bill and it's $89.00. the receipt says 50/50 oil change and air filter. The air filter was $20. So long story short, they used a synthetic oil instead of what she asked for and decided on their own to change the filter that I just changed a month ago. They also gave my son a list of "things" that needed fixed on the car. I really believe they were trying to take advantage of them. Never ever again. Someone who trust what a "mechanic" says can really get taken to the cleaners. Shame on you Valvoline. read more
