I prefer to use my own oil and OEM Filters. I called the number of the local Valvoline, specifically asking if this was the actual local shop and the pleasant woman replied yes it was. I inquired about using my own oil and filter and cost to do the labor. She replied it was not a problem and quoted $75 which is robbery but at least allowing the ability to use my own choices they don't offer. Went there, sat in line and once in the bay was told by the freakish young man with garish colored hair, gigantic septic piercing and black fingernail polish that while I could use my oil, I could NOT use the OEM filter I brought, that I HAD to use their filter. I spoke of the call I made and assurance it was no issue and IT replied that I had probably spoke to someone at corporate who didn't know what they were talking about. That the location I was in was privately owned and using my filter was a liability issue for them and not possible. This made no sense as they are just supplying labor and I can't see how using the cars manufacturers filter could be a liability, but their filter wasn't. I was told take or leave it, so I left, having wasted 10 minutes on initial call, 15 minute ride to shop, 20 minutes in line and 15 minute drive home. An hour of wasted time and no oil change. They got me in changed my oil checked tire pressure and top off my fluids. They were very friendly and worked quickly. I will be back for sure. I literally had to put every bit of strength I had to break the oil filter loose on my car. I've always done my own oil changes and the one time I went to this place because they offered a huge military discount, this happens. It's mangled because I had to get oil filter pliers and compress it to get enough bite to spin it off. You can also see the black oil filter (correct) that I installed after removing theirs to show wrong size they installed. read more

I mentioned the sign to Jeffrey and he look at the Brandon and check the air at van screen and it was showing the air was uneven in the tires. instead of make them even. he told me your sensor is not workin. I said ok and left from there. After that drive a hour I called the air compressor guy and he came to my business and fill up the air and said the sensor was fine only the air was uneven. Went in to have an oil change done on my girlfriends car 2 Sundays ago and all goes well at least from what I could tell at the time. I get a phone call the next afternoon from my girlfriend that she is broken down in the side of the road because her car is over heating! Mind you I just had the oil change done the day before where they were supposed check the fluids and if low they fill them back up right? Well I call and speak to the lead technician who's says yes we sure did top the coolant and washer fluid off for you. I waited for the engine to cool and went to look for myself at the hoses from the reservoir and to the radiator thinking maybe one had busted. Hoses all tight and no holes no nothing but absolutely no coolant is the reservoir . Start looking around under the reservoir tank and I could see where it all had come out. So I waited a little longer to let the engine and everything cool down so I could take the cap off of the reservoir...come back out to remove the cap to fill it back up so I can try to track the leak down. A quarter or a turn and the cap pops right off. At this point I call back and speak to a manager who's says that my invoice says nothing about them filling any fluids just that I had received an oil change. I seen the gentleman fill the fluids myself and told the manager this. He says he can watch the video from when I was in...I wait as he watches the video. Sure does put coolant in the reservoir. After speaking with multiple people and being treated like shit and talked to like I was lying and as if I didn't know what I was talking about...they say they will refund my oil change. What about the fact that she sat on the side of the road and all the shit that we have had to deal with and hope that nothing else was damaged?? This place is a joke and they don't know what they are doing. When and if things go wrong they make it seem as if you are wrong or did something to make this happen!! DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!! I have to head out of town for the weekend and needed a quick oil change so I stopped by the Prince Frederick location. I had always avoided these quick lube joints, always telling my wife that they couldn't do a good job because they're always in a hurry. Guess who was right.... me!!! 10 minutes down the road there was an awful sound coming from under the hood. After getting out of traffic and pulling over to a safe spot, did I mention that it was raining, I crawled under the car to find the skid plate dangling by a thread. I called them up and they said "no problem, just drive it back and we'll take care of it ". Really, you want me to drive 10 minutes back with a sharp piece of aluminum dragging, bouncing, and rubbing my tire back to you??? After explaining that after a $100 oil change they should probably come fix it right there. He says he can't, because it's raining. I said "no shit??? I know it's raining because I'm laying in the mud trying to fix what you fucked up!!! " I was able to get it off, there was only one screw left to hold it in place, and get to the Valvoline in Lusby so they could put it back on for me. This was the first, and last time I use one of these quick lube joints. I doubt any of this makes since, I'm too pissed to think straight. read more

Love the staff friendliness, enthusiasm, and loud safety communication to each other. The technicians seem to be on top of everything, showing us everything, explaining everything. Telling us the good and bad on point, no extra fluff. We knew we needed a battery change, so when they recommended it, that was excellent. Got that done quick. Less thing for us to worry about. Showed us the oil level. Overall, best oil change service ever. Brandon was the man, two thumbs up. Very thorough. Military discount is a plus. Allen, store manager, was excellent too. Horrible customer service. One car was present. This location has three bays, but I still had to wait 15 minutes to pull in. The guy guiding me in actually yelled at me for not knowing which direction to go. How would I not be confused if you're pointing one direction but saying another, and talking to more than just me? Excuse me for wanting to be sure about where to drive so my vehicle isn't damaged when I was not sure you were paying attention. I was barely spoken to after that, by any of the five staff members on duty. I was informed that a new tech was training. I could tell he was trying his hardest to be thorough and make sure everything was correct. Each time he made a mistake, though, the other staff would yell at or make fun of him. How do you expect anyone to learn being treated like that, or others to respect you after witnessing that behavior? My vehicle was treated horribly, yanked and beat on instead of just cared for. When I tried to speak up, I was brushed off, then watched as they worked on and finished with a vehicle arriving after me, before finishing with mine. What should have been a 15 minute oil change turned out to be an hour + long sh*t show about who can do the worst. I will never take another vehicle here. read more

This place is fantastic. You stay in your car the entire time! No need to get out out! We went on a Sunday and all of the employees were very helpful. They communicate aloud so that all others know what they are doing. We paid $84 for an oil change (our car takes 6 quarts, instead of the standard 5, so had to pay a little extra for that) and a tire rotation. We purchased just the standard oil, not synthetic. In and Out in about 30 min. Very easy and convenient. We will return! read more

Great, quick oil change. I had a $10 coupon that ended up taking $15 off. The guys were all knowledgable and very nice. My only complaint was the cost. You are paying for convenience. Getting in and out in 20min is excellent though, so I don't mind paying a little more when I need an oil change quick. I ended up getting two filters replaced, which I found out later were overpriced. I'm not sure if this location has control on pricing or its set by the franchise itself. I'd say if you need a quick oil change go in for sure, but save your money on the DIY extras you can replace yourself (i.e.: filters). read more
