I arrived early and had to wait for my room, but I think they wound up upgrading me to a suite on the prestige floor without an upcharge. It was wonderful. Breakfast buffet was not included, but at 22 euro was a bargain, and had variety for traditional Dutch breakfast, French/German styles, and US/English style. All very nicely done. Had an early pick up for a taxi back to Schipol at the end of our stay, and the night clerk graciously prepared coffee and tea for us. Would certainly stay again if I had reason to come back to this city.

Think that I will stay here next time and be close to my Family. I can always ride the Train into Amsterdam...

My favourite hotel in Amersfoort!…read more Here you will feel right at home. Situated in the heart of the historic city of Amersfoort, on one of the beautiful squares. What it lacks in luxury, it more than makes up in atmosphere. The 'Lange Jan' (or 'Long John') takes its name from the huge medieval tower next door. Easy to find you way home to ;-). It doesn't have a lobby. Instead, you have to check in at the bar of the friendly pub underneath the hotel. If you want to explore the beautiful old city of Amersfoort with al its restaurants, shops and museums, and not spent too much time on your hotel room, this is your best value. The friendly staff will show you all the highlights (also the 'off the beaten track' places normally reserved for locals), but in truth you can easily spend a day or two in the immediate vicinity on the square where this hotel is conviently situated.

Actually it looks a bit old for a Hilton. It was handy for me since I had to go the work close by. In other circumstances I would never come here but I didn't need more for one night.
