"We really need to take those car seats out and [burn them] clean them out next weekend," is a common idea in our household that has only been acted on in extreme circumstances. In other words, it's only happened twice in our nearly 7 years of parenthood: Once when our beloved elderly male cat decided to urinate on our baby and his car seat during a road trip and another time when our son projectile vomited all over it.
