Quicksilver is closed on Sunday and Monday, so on Tuesday morning I got up early and went downtown. I arrived at around 8:45am even though I knew that Quicksilver did not open until 10am. I wanted to be there as early as possible. I parked in the business's designated parking space behind the building and waited. At 9:57 I got out of my car and walked around the building to Quicksilver's front door. I could see people inside and I assumed it was open, so I walked in. I was immediately scolded by the woman working there. She told me I was early and that I would have to wait. She did a few little things behind the counter while I stood there. Then at some point she checked her watch (or phone) an announced that it was now 10am and asked me what I needed. I said I am from out of town and was hoping to get a photo printed prior to my departure the next morning. Wow! I barely had those words out of my mouth before the angrily exclaimed "No Way!!" She spoke to me so harshly I was taken aback. I had not even finished my question. I actually stood there speechless for a few seconds. At that point she followed up with "if you really want it today, it will be a $100 rush fee and maybe I can get it by the end of the day." Look I get it - People are busy and my priorities are not their priorities. I also understand that there is apparently no local competition in this space. But it was one photo and she did not have to be so rude. I work in a service industry and try to help people whenever I can. It actually makes me happy when I can help someone. I immediately left Bellingham, drove to Vancouver (Vancouver Photo Lab) where a very nice man printed it while I waited. I turned around, drove back to Bellingham and I was back in town by 2:00pm. I had the mat and frame ready to go and I had it finished and on his wall by by 4pm. Left the next morning for Seattle at 4:30am. I strongly don't recommend Quciksilver.

She said yes to all our requests when we booked our session, but, she denied everything after we paid for it. I really doubted if all those pictures showing on her gallery were taken by this ROSA or somebody else??!! When we received our pictures, the first thing i wanted to say is "OMG". I really couldn't believe they were taken from a so-called photographer. Poor lighting and angles, also ugly background. And, she captured a lot of the unnecessary stuff on almost all the pictures (e.g. a crowd of people at the back or just right next to us, garbage bin, traffic cones, etc). When I called and requested her to just simply remove/crop them out. She said NO as she thinks there is no problem at all. Oh...COME ON!!!! I kept negotiating with her and she dared to say "I don't care about you as there is always NEW customers". She is so so so rude and arrogant. In the end, she cut off the phone line without letting me saying anything. What a bad attitude and poor service!!!

The kids look bored, very few are smiling, and the photos themselves are very average. She has watermarks all over her photos, and it's hard to actually see the subject. Last year we asked if she could reduce the watermarks so we could actually see our child and she not only refused, but she was quite rude about it. She also won't email the image, but instead you have to buy a USB from her if you'd like a digital copy. Not only outdated, but wasteful. Before I went, I printed out a piece of paper stating the size in order to make it easier to see the size required. She was quick to recognize the mm and cm . We then went into the photograph room for a shot. The picture looked great. However I wish she has given me a mirror to tidy up a bit of my shoulder / sides before the shot. I should have asked first though. I ordered 2 physical pictures and 1 digital (sent by email). Total cost was $32 + tax. All in all I think it's worth it. I got the pictures within 30 minutes.

Though I didn't end up continuing my pre order from them, Tanyo, the manager of burnaby, and the kerrisdale Langley Messenger were a great help! They are nice people and ready to help whether you're just there to browse, enquiry, or anything! Kerrisdale Langley Messenger is very helpful and quick to response on any question you need! They said the photo will not be same day. $20 for the passport photo if it is not same day and could take a day or two or even longer. The set up of the store doesn't look professional at all. If you want it same day, it would cost almost double but they did said the photo might not turn out right if it is on the same day. Not sure if they are developing it in the back room when they said that. I told them that I need to think about it and walked out. Sounds like the guys that work there are not sure what they are doing. Also note that the two guys that work there doesn't seem to speak very good English.

With in 10 days the center column started to wobble, I took the tripod back to the store and they replaced the central column (not the whole tripod). It worked for a few days and then the legs started getting stuck. This tripod was used for my business on daily basis. So I took the tripod in again for resolution, they took the tripod and sent it to the manufacturer, ( didn't replace). These people have no fu**ing clue where the tripod is and how long it will take, it is seriously getting ridiculous. I went to the store, the employees had nothing to say but shook their shoulders. I was thinking of making Broadway camera as my to go store for my business needs, but now I have completely lost trust in them. I have no clue when I will get the tripod back, they don't have a clue what's going on. I will not recommend Broadway Camera to anyone if they are looking for a good after sales service. better buy stuff online or elsewhere.
