Nimbus is GREAT!!!!! Excellent program, excellent people and a lot of fun to boot…read more From my experience, the school lived up to everything they said. The small classes are great as everyone gets a chance to get their hands on the board in each class, and the teachers have time to discuss any questions you may have and to reinforce the lessons on anything you may need extra help with. All of the teachers are still working in the business outside of the school, so you not only get opportunities to work with them and bands in school, but you also get opportunities to work with them outside of school on their own projects. You start from square one, things as simple as wrapping cables and how a mic should be put onto a mic stand, and work your way up to where you will be able to record a full band then edit, mix and master what you've recorded. And not just once, you'll be working on your own projects and class projects and then helping anyone and everyone with their projects as well. If you are really keen you can pretty much just live at the school and work on your craft 24 hours per day. In addition to class time, you will have access to the studios after school that you will be scheduled for and usually you'll be able to get more than your scheduled times as some students don't fully utilize their studio times and you can scoop them up. You can also combine times with other students. At one point in time I had a weekend where I spent more than 50 hours recording bands over a weekend with a number of different people. Totally exhausted by the end but it was great! Forget about normal hours and a normal life when you sign up. You'll be in school during the times you have chosen and in studio as often as you can get in. In my mind there were only two times of day, in school or sleeping. lol I was lucky enough to get the opportunity to run (be a gopher) at a local studio when Matthew Good was recording Lights of Endangered Species (my name is in the liner credits) and was also asked to work with one of the instructors with a band called We Need Surgery that you will be hearing about in the new year. This was all during my time in school. If you're good (and the timing is right) you might even be able to go to Garth Richardson's private studio to work with bands. At the moment there are about 6 students who are rotating while he and one of the instructors work with a new band. Not something you'd get at most schools. I did check out other schools before I signed on with Nimbus, but it was only at Nimbus where you never just sit in a classroom taking notes, you are ALWAYS in a studio. Yes, there are lots of notes, you will generally spend the first hour of every class writing them down and discussing them and then jumping in to put them into action. It's a great way to learn.

I am a current student of the Music Business program, and enjoying every minute of it. The small…read moreclasses allow for focused learning and in-depth discussion, the teachers are extremely helpful and hands on. The best part about this course is that its not books and notes, its real life experience. You leave Nimbus with a resume, not just a certificate. The school is like a small community of musicians, that all help each other out to reach their goals. The business students team up with the production students, the production students find musicians, and everyone works together. Overall there are many, many reasons that you should consider Nimbus, and many more reasons you should go. Going to Nimbus was the best decision I ever made.

The institute provided innovative learning experiences and a practical co-op at end of the study. I truly enjoyed the teaching from experienced Cyber Security professionals who had industrial knowledge and skills. They showed us practical examples and actual cases happening worldwide. They let us analyze and delve into several key issues when data breach occurred. Not to mention we were introduced to virtual machines for isolation and Kali Linux early on so that we were able to investigate segmentation of devices and network infrastructure in the first few weeks. It was a fun experience. However, due to the packed schedule, you were expected to work on the materials all days and all weeks in order to pass the 2 mid term exams - mock interviews and capstone exams. I passed the CompTia security+ in the first attempt and completed a 4-week co-op with 5 other students.

New location is bigger than old location. Skytrain access. Cons: Your wallet will $10000 lighter. You have to bring your own laptop to do everything. You eat, sleep, breathe development bootcamp and will have no life outside of Lighthouse during your time here. It's that intense! If you miss a week for any reason, you might get rolled forward to the next cohort or kicked out. You will get sick and have to push yourself to keep learning. Like most women, I've wasted lots of time and money looking everywhere for just the right face and body products, only to be disappointed time and time again. That's when I thought I should just make my own, according to my own specifications. I've looked everywhere for soap and lotion making classes, and none of them appealed to me as much as Rene's because of her high standards of using organic and natural ingredients. After the first class, i was hooked. Why? My own vanity. Rene is the poster child for good skin. She has no makeup on and her skin is so smooth and blemish free! She is her own walking testimonial to the products she creates. When I heard how old Rene is, I knew I had to learn from her as much as possible because she looks over 15 years younger. My favourite products I've learned to make at Soap Making School so far are soaps (of course), butters, lotions, makeup remover, and shampoo. I read a lot about ingredients but Rene has encyclopedic knowledge about numerous ingredients that surpass anyone I've ever met. Needless to say, I've learned a lot from her. In class she is generous, patient, and so kind and sweet even when students mess things up. Even if you can't take her class just yet, I'd recommend signing up for her free newsletters. They are a wealth of information. If you are lucky enough to have the time to take a class, I'd recommend signing up early since I've seen how quickly some of Rene's classes fill up. Rene is one woman soap making empire. Besides all the selfish reasons I signed up for her classes, it's a treat to support small ethically-run businesses.
